TheRealWitch’s Notebook

Through our many creations with the children vegetable gardening, growing aromatic and medicinal plants, making syrup, laundry soap, oil, balm, shampoo, jewelry… all plant-based we became fascinated by the world of medieval witches. They possessed profound knowledge of plants and their uses. This inspired us to create a witch’s notebook to collect our own original plant-based creations The children absolutely love it! In general, the idea of a notebook, journal, or any kind of record that allows them to gather what they have made, experienced, and experimented with is something children enjoy very much. It also lets them share their experiences with family and friends and helps them grow a sense of awareness and pride about what they have accomplished!

Sturdy cardboard (Canson type)
White A4 sheets
A lighter
String or raffia

Fold a sheet of sturdy cardboard in half, then do the same with some white sheets to create a notebook. Punch holes along the fold and tie everything together with string. For a “spellbook” effect, you can burn the edges of some pages slightly. Be careful: never let the little ones do this part!
