Ourplantingpot!

Hier is een complete lente-activiteit die het kind helpt een verbinding te maken met de plantenwereld Het is een atelier waarin kinderen van begin tot eind met hun handen werken: potjes kleien, versieren met mozaïek en er zaadjes in zaaien.

Materials needed:

Air-drying modeling clay

Clay-cutting wire

Rolling pin

Surface (oilcloth, wooden board, etc.)

Blunt knife safe for children to use

Cookie cutter or glass to cut the base of the pots

A little water

Scissors to make drainage holes in the pot

Mosaic pieces

Mosaic glue

Soil

Flower seeds or aromatic herb seeds

Step1:Shapingthepots

Depending on the size of the pots you want, cut small blocks of clay using the clay-cutting wire This tool isn’t strictly necessary, but children always enjoy trying out a new tool and learning new movements. Then roll out the clay with the rolling pin.

Next, use the cookie cutter (or a glass) to cut out the base of the pot Make a small hole in it so that water can drain out. Then cut out a rectangle, which you will attach to the round base to form the pot.

Let dry for 24 to 72 hours.

Step2:Decoratingthepotswithmosaic

Show the children the mosaic pieces and ask them to choose a limited number (otherwise they might want to cover the whole pot). Then apply glue to each piece using a spatula.

Step3:Sowinginthepots

Collect some forest soil with the children, fill the pots, and sow aromatic plants (basil, parsley, chives) or flowers!
