June – Bankura Snehalaya
At a time when they should be cared for, it’s heartbreaking that many elderly people affected by leprosy are unwanted and destitute.
This month, we are praying for Bankura Snehalaya, a home for elderly people disabled by leprosy in rural West Bengal, India. It’s a special place providing care and companionship. Most importantly, it’s a place of dignity where residents know that they are loved by Jesus.
Many of the 15 residents at Bankura Snehalaya have endured heartbreaking rejection. But together, they find joy in singing, gardening, and worship. Praise Jesus that they have found a new family in each other! Pray that they will be able to delight in the Lord, and rest in His presence each day.
Week 4
The residents take real pride in their home. But with no renovations for decades, Bankura Snehalaya is in desperate need of repair. May Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, bless the work to restore this place of love. Pray that together we can give residents the cheerful and comfortable home they deserve.
July – Anandaban Hospital
High above Kathmandu, Nepal, Anandaban Hospital has served people affected by leprosy for nearly 70 years.
But this special place is so much more than a hospital. The Holy Spirit moves here! And thanks to your kindness, Anandaban is a refuge for all who need healing, compassion, and hope.
Week 1
In 2024, Anandaban was rocked by wildfire and devastating landslides. But thanks to your steadfast support, the hospital continues to serve people with leprosy despite ongoing challenges Together, we give thanks for God’s unfailing faithfulness to Anandaban. Pray that He will continue to bless this special place, as it shines out His love and light.
Anandaban is a beacon of hope for people affected by leprosy across Nepal. Whether they come for ulcer treatment or reconstructive surgery, pray that patients will see the love of Jesus in the care they receive. May they know God’s comfort and peace as they recover, and find new hope for the future too.
Week 3
The team at Anandaban provides so much more than medical care. They offer a comforting shoulder and listening ear, and show people with leprosy that they matter. May the Lord give the team compassion as they walk alongside people with leprosy. Pray that they will find strength in Jesus when their work is busy, and draw closer to Him each day.
Week 4
Anandaban is also home to world-leading leprosy research. Give thanks that the land for the new research centre, funded through your incredible generosity, has been purchased in Kathmandu! Ask for wisdom for Anandaban’s leadership team and our architects as they plan the next phase of the work.
August – The persecuted church
Across the world, more than 380 million Christians face persecution for following Jesus. Eight of the countries you enable us to support are included in Open Doors’ World Watchlist for oppression against believers.
Our teams continue to boldly show God’s love to people affected by leprosy. Please join us over the next two months to pray for them, and Christians around the world facing danger because they love Jesus.
Week 1: Nigeria – 7th on the World Watchlist
Religious violence in northern Nigeria continues to shatter lives. Christian communities have been especially targeted and attacked. Please pray that Jesus will bring comfort, strength, and justice to His people across this country. Ask too for protection for the Leprosy Mission team as they travel to remote communities.
Week 2: India – 11th on the World Watchlist
Hindu nationalism means believers across India are facing increasing hostility. Many Christian charities are under intense scrutiny too. Please pray for wisdom and courage for our teams as they navigate these challenges. May God go before them in all they do, and encourage them as they work for people affected by leprosy.
Week 3: Myanmar – 14th on the World Watchlist
Amid the ongoing civil war in Myanmar, hundreds of Christians have been attacked and displaced. Last year’s earthquake only made families’ hardship worse. Ask that Jesus will bring peace to Myanmar and shield His people from all harm. Pray especially for our church partners serving in some of the most dangerous regions of the country.
Week 4: Niger – 26th on the World Watchlist
Political instability has emboldened extremist groups in Niger, particularly in rural areas. Danja Hospital, which you support, is the only place in the country where people can get leprosy care and hear about Jesus. Give thanks for God’s faithfulness to this place of healing and hope. May He protect the staff and patients as they witness to His life-changing love.
September – The persecuted church
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Week 1: Bangladesh – 33rd on the World Watchlist
Just 0.5% of Bangladesh’s population is Christian. Although the constitution guarantees religious freedom, many believers still face harassment and exclusion. Please pray that the Leprosy Mission team here will keep Jesus at the centre of all they do. Pray too that Christians across the country will stay strong in the faith, and know they are not alone.
Week 2: Ethiopia – 36th on the World Watchlist
Many people in Ethiopia are Christian. However, tensions between denominations have led to communities and churches being attacked. Please pray that the Prince of Peace will bring reconciliation and unity to divided communities. Give thanks that our small team in Ethiopia continue to faithfully answer Jesus’ call to serve people affected by leprosy.
Week 3: Mozambique – 39th on the World Watchlist
Since 2017, violence from Islamist extremists in northern Mozambique has killed thousands and displaced millions. Christians have faced particular persecution. Ask that God will shield the communities you support from all danger. Praise Jesus that despite the conflict, your kindness is curing leprosy and changing lives!
Week 4: Nepal – 46th on the World Watchlist
Rising Hindu nationalism means Nepal has sadly returned to the World Watchlist. Anti-conversion laws mean that new believers face particular pressures. Pray that the government will uphold religious freedom throughout Nepal. Pray too that new Christians across the country find courage, hope, and joy in Jesus.
