My inspiration comes from observing the sophistication of real ballerinas and what they wear in their daily life. As a child my eldest brother lived in Amsterdam and London wanting to become a ballet dancer. While visiting him we sometimes went to see a ballerina friend who lived in an old, beautiful building in London. I noticed the ballerinas in the hallway, the classic leather handbag and a rack of daily clothes consisting of clothes only a ballerina would wear. Stylish fabrics in comfortable shapes, because ballerinas are all about movement. On stage she wears her En Pointe shoes looking used …
