Design Strategy
The plan is structured around a closed pedestrian network, which connects all the lots and creates small intimate places around water to gather with friends and colleagues, as well as larger open areas suitable for skateboarding, concerts, and outdoor markets, connected by a slow walking network. The project is an elevated landscape on and above the site, conceived with the purpose of helping surrounding residents realize the beauty of different perspectives and elevations of the same city they live in every day, and pay attention to trivial details around them that are usually neglected.

The project is designed to awaken the spirit of the place and make people aware of its nature. The spaces are built above the site and composed of four floors, each serving different functions but connected elaborately. They are built in various heights and shapes over an area of 414 square meters. The bottom space is on the ground and is composed of a parking lot, an open square, and an open-air mall. The open square can be used for morning exercise, public concerts, films, festivals, performances, and Chinese square dance

Floor Details

The central plaza is on the second floor. A stair connects the third floor and the plaza. Landscape retaining walls are designed on both sides of the stair to enhance the guidance and allow people to sit on them. They can sit at different heights to have different views of the place. The fourth floor is the highlight of the project, using elevations to create different views of the city and the sea. Part of the elevated viewing walkway floor is hollow, giving visitors a stronger sense of space in the environment. The circulation of the site is designed to be exploratory, engaging, and sensational. The paths are connected, but the elevations of the paths are different. Visitors can enjoy the same site but from various perspectives views.

The second floor and third floors are closely combined. These two spaces are the main activity areas where visitors can walk, relax, and shop. This area’s theme is to create a leisure environment by combining buildings, landscapes, and plants.” Use plants as a link to connect buildings and landscapes.
The roofs of the main buildings are opened up, and tall trees can grow from the lower floor to the higher place connecting to spaces and merging into one. The second and third floors are designed for many functions such as relaxing, skateboarding, jogging, shopping, and cultural exhibition corridor.
