Race Verdict

A tricky contest. Rochester Mike is certainly interesting of this mark, while Mobilise and Drop The Dip both come here in form. Queen Mab is one of the more interesting unexposed types, but potentially even more so is PROVE IT who could be very well handicapped on his early season form and is well worth a market check. HORSE WELFARE – A PRIORITY

At every race meeting there are specially qualified equine veterinary surgeons on duty to look after the wellbeing of all the horses racing. There is a vet in attendance at the start of each race who, follows the horses throughout the race and is quickly on hand if a casualty occurs. It is normal procedure to erect screens around any horse receiving veterinary treatment. This allows the veterinary surgeon some privacy to fully assess the horses’ injuries and race goers should not assume the worst if screens are erected around an injured horse. The Blue Cross ambulance is always present to transport the horse back to the stable yard for further treatment if necessary.

A second veterinary surgeon is in attendance in the stable yard to assess and treat any horses requiring such attention post race.

The horses’ welfare is always our priority.
