Final Project Assignment

Community Centre as Creative-Collaborative Space is a space that can be use by the community for supporting their creative activities. The creative people or their communities are also can use special facilities that can support to create some arts or generating the ideas. Some key aspects of this building are the services, spatial layouts and the ambiance of its spaces.

The site was chosen by identified the land-use and the crowds of the people around. It stated to provide and connect the interaction between people on the settlements, offices and public spaces to create some creative collaborations.

PROJECT 02 Amrita Sanctuary

Location : Lake of Faculty of Agriculture, UNS, Surakarta

Competition Project by Leny Indah Alif Datu Okie Kristina M. Ghalfadi

It is Sansekertan language means Water of Life. Water is a main component from the nature that brings the confortable and zen feeling. The building states on lake of the Agriculture Faculty, so the space is a facility for students.

The metaphore of a waterdrop represents about the feeling that happen when the water drops fall. It influences people to take a rest and feel confortable with the sound and the ambience of it.

MODULS

AERODINAMIC SIRCULATION Easier air sirculation in site

SOUND OF NATURE (WATER) Because of water element in site, it produce the sound of nature (especially water drops those bring the nature ambience of the design)

SKYLIGHT The skylight give a zen ambience for the 3rd floor.

VERTICAL GARDEN The plants that surounding the sanctuary wall as a heat respons and produce the fresh air.

HYDROPONIC The hydroponic plant makes the space more productive and it can be used for free.

THE GREEN ROOF The Green Roof is the chosen element to create the nature and gree ambience.

PROJECT 03 Municipal Wastewater Treatment System (IPAL) Project location: Kelurahan Pasir Wetan, Purwokerto

This wastewater treatment system is a development infrastructure program from the govenment from the distric level to make a better habit and treatment of wastewater system in their village.

We did this project by participatory planning and build. The government play a role as a facilitator for the people who live in there.

This village get the fund for build 2 wastewater treatment systems.

Each of it has the capacity for 50 families/houses. So it has 100 families/houses in total.

In this step, we introduced the program to built two the wastewater treatment systems.

We asked to the communities to mapped the families who need the wastewater treatment and determind the site to put this wastewater treatment.

In this step, we teach them how to built that treatment systems and we started to determining the volume.

In this case we started to make the Design Engineering Drawing, Cost Estimation and Time Schedule. The communities create some division to manage this infrastrusture process.

In this step, we started to built the this. The communities had given their potential workers to built it, and the divisions to manage the report, the material and cost by their own communities.

26 DESIGN OF WASTEWATER SYSTEM 1 The Design of Wastewater System 1 has the site that the angle of its slope is really precipitous. So, we take an action by using cut and fill method to the site.

In other hand, we still consider the design to use the measured slope.

It would be help to minimize the cut and fill method. Beside, the flow of the wastewater system more easily.

Kampoong Sangkrah we chose as a research object because the infrastructure element in its community. It is one of the highest density of a district scale in Surakarta. There is lots of positif activities especially the social interaction on it. Developing public space is going to be an important way to increasing the quality of their life eventhogh they’re living in the suburban area.

DESIGN METHOD Our design method was using participatory design and mapping. We involved their community to discuss about the solution that we would make together.

In this case, we play a role as a facilator and the community as their own architect.

1. MAPPING

We did the mapping methode to find the physical and social elements for their public space in their Kampoong.

For the physical elements, we mapped the place that become their public space.

For the social elements, we mapped the interaction that they do in a day.

2. FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION We did FGD to find and determine the public space that we will design and develope it with the community.

For the first stage, we discussed about most potential public space that we may to design ant develop it.

FGD 2

For the second stage, we made the design as a plan to trigger the community to discussed and and find the solution by their version for the public space.

FGD 2 For the last stage, we discuss to decided the material, cost, and the time schedule to execute the public space and the design that had chosen.

3. EXECUTION

Before we did the execution, we learned about the technique and collect the materials that wee need.

When we did the execution, we learned about the process and the execution method on that real field. We also learned about the interaction we made, the bonding between us.

5. CONCLUSION Community Participation to design the public space become an important point for this research project. This is the graphic how the interest of the community to participate in this process devided by age group.
