LCC Health-Related Courses provide training that is both fulfilling and leads to rewarding careers in fields dedicated to serving others and improving the health and well-being of individuals in local and surrounding communities. Employment opportunities for graduates include positions in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, health insurance organizations, outpatient clinics, physicians' offices, hospice care, and mental health facilities, among others.

If you are interested in short-term training opportunities in health-related fields, LCC's Continuing Education Division offers a wide variety of health occupation classes that may lead to a certification. The division is committed to supporting our students, fostering the development of the local economy, and building a sense of community through its programs. Classes are available in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties, with some courses offered in hybrid and online formats.

Class leads to the Certified Veterinary Assistant certification with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA).
Prepares students to work in a veterinarian’s office or animal shelter. Areas covered include veterinary terminology, anatomy and physiology, animal behavior and communication, grooming techniques, proper handling and restraining of animals, obtaining and handling specimens, emergency care, and office management. Classes held in-person and online simultaneously.
Includes the following classes: Digital Literacy, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Specialist, Photoshop, and QuickBooks. Even more classes are offered on Ed2Go.
PERSONAL SERVICES
The Cosmetic Arts program at Lenoir Community College offers non-credit courses that help individuals develop salon skills, obtain certifications, or acquire continuing education units for professional development. Some courses are offered in both English and Spanish.

Aviation Center for Excellence
GENERAL AND AIRFRAME CLASSES
Aviation Maintenance Technician education at Lenoir Community College provides the foundation for students to earn their Federal Aviation Administration Airframe Certificate. Holders of this certificate are on their way to working in the aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul field. Local employers in our service area such as Airbus, flyExclusive, Draken, Mountain Air Cargo, and Fleet Readiness Center need qualified aircraft maintenance technicians for their daily operations.
• Qualify to sit for your FAA General and Airframe Certification in as little as 4 courses
• $185 cost per course in Continuing Education, or register as a Curriculum student and receive full Pell
• Receive Credit for Prior Learning towards the Aviation Systems Technology, AAS for prior work or military experience, or through articulation from continuing education courses

2026 BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT
TRAINING CERTIFICATE
This program is designed to give students essential skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers with state, county, and municipal governments, or with private enterprise.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Lenoir Community College Public Safety Education Programs offer a variety of classes via the internet and the traditional classroom setting. Our programs are geared for the individual as well as hospital, EMS, fire, or law enforcement personnel who are interested in expanding their knowledge.
The Workforce Development and Continuing Education based EMS programs at Lenoir Community College do not currently offer advanced placement options. These programs include EMT, AEMT, Paramedic. Students in these programs are currently not allowed to transfer clinical hours or skills from other programs and must complete the required minimum clinical hours, field hours, and skills assessments to complete the program and be eligible for NCOEMS and NREMT testing.

EMT CLASSES
Prepare for a rewarding career in Emergency Medical Services. Lenoir Community College's Continuing Education EMT course combines flexible online instruction with handson training to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to begin a career in EMS or further their careers in public safety.
The 16-week course includes online didactic instruction, 15 on-site lab skills sessions, and a minimum of 48 hours of clinical education. The on-site lab skill sessions are held from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on prescheduled dates for each course.

TRANSITIONAL & CAREER STUDIES
Adult Basic Education
This program of instruction is designed for adults who lack competence in reading, writing, speaking, problem solving, or computation at a level necessary to function in society, on a job, or in a family.
High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE Diploma)
This program of instruction is designed to prepare adult students to pass the high school equivalency tests that lead to a high school equivalency diploma.
English Language Acquisition (ELA)
This program of instruction is designed for adults who lack competence in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English.
Adult High School (AHS)
This program of instruction is offered cooperatively with local public school systems to help adults earn an Adult High School Diploma.
G.O.A.L.S. Program (Gaining Occupational & Life Skills)
The G.O.A.L.S. Program provides students with a successful transition to employment through engaging instruction, project-based learning, and the development of workplace skills necessary for employment. The program was developed in partnership with Lenoir Community College, Lenoir County Public Schools, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
