The Talon Cup Tournament Information

5 NINE-HOLE MATCHES

Each team will be playing a round robin format and will compete in (5) nine-hole matches against every other team within their flight. USGA rules of four-ball matches govern all play Please stay on the 9 you start on.

Thursday: 1 nine-hole match

Friday: 2 nine-hole matches

Saturday: 2 nine-hole matches

MATCH POINTS

1/2 point for tied hole

1 point for winning hole

Match Flight short of Six Teams will play against par (Maximum Points of 7 pts per match) The team in each flight with the most cumulative points after five matches will compete in the shootout on Saturday afternoon.

Wildcard: The team with the most overall points on Saturday that did not win their flight will be awarded a spot in the shootout

FLIGHT BREAKDOWN

Flights will be determined based on the total team aggregate handicap.

TEE GIFT

This year’s gifts are provided by FootJoy. Tee gifts will be distributed during the cocktail party Thursday evening.

HANDICAPPING

All players must have a USGA handicap to play. Matches are played at 90% Handicap, playing off the low handicap player. The lowest player in each Four-Ball will play without strokes, and all other players will receive the difference in handicaps Handicap strokes and half strokes are taken as they fall on the card *USGA handicap index will be used for all guests. All handicaps used will be from March 1st. Teammates are limited to 9 Stroke difference. Example: player A has a 9 handicap and his partner, player B, has a 20 handicap, player B’s handicap will be adjusted down to 18

FLIGHT TIE BREAKER

The team winning their head-to-head match will advance to the shoot-out If still tied, the team winning the most points in round 1 will advance then, if necessary, round 2 etc. The final tie breaker, if necessary, is a “no look” chip off on the 18th green.

WILD CARD

The team winning the most points on Saturday will advance to the Shootout.

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES

Official scorecards for each match are prepared in advance It is the responsibility of each player to verify their handicaps are correct before beginning play

PAYOUTS

1st and 2nd place in each flight and wildcard. 1st and 2nd Shootout winners.

SHOOTOUT FOR OVERALL CHAMPIONS

New this year: If the winner of your flight goes on to win 1st or 2nd in the shootout, the 2nd Place team in your flight will receive the 1st Place prize money, and the 3rd Place team will move up to claim the 2nd Place flight payout

Stick around and cheer on your flight’s winner you could still cash in!

All payouts will be distributed after the shootout.

All flight winners and wild card team will advance to the 2-hole Invitational Shootout on Saturday afternoon The shootout will be contested on holes, #17, and #18 to determine our Overall Champions

Competitors will play from their designated tee

1 Best Ball of 2 Net

Hole #17– All teams will play, and the lowest 4 net scores will advance In the event of a tie, there will be a putt off to determine which team(s) advance

Hole #18–The final 4 teams will compete for the overall shootout championship In the event of a tie, repeat Hole #18 If a tie persists the teams will chip off to determine the winners

PUTTING CONTEST & Swing 75

The Putting Contest and Swing 75 are open to all players and will take place Thursday evening following golf

Swing 75 Challenge

Join us between 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM for the Swing 75! Each player gets one shot from the #1 tee to the #18 green. The player whose ball lands closest to the pin wins!

1st Place : $200 Cash

Putting Contest

Stop by the Putting Green between 4:00 PM–5:30 PM for your chance to qualify for the finals! Each player gets 2 putts sink one, and you qualify!

The finals will be at 5:30 PM on Hole #9 Putting Green, where each finalist gets one putt

The two closest putts will win prizes

1st Place: $300 Cash | 2nd Place: $200 Cash

HOLE IN ONE PRIZES

All players will be eligible for the Hole In One Contest Friday and Saturday. Winners will be responsible for paying taxes on any prizes

LOCAL RULES

Lift, clean, and place in your own fairway within one club length no nearer

Hole #3: a ball that comes to rest on any part of Hole #16 will be declared Out of Bounds All roads define Out of Bounds with exception to #15 behind the green The Butterfly Garden next to the restrooms on Hole #15 is optional free relief Drop Areas are in effect on all Par 3's Holes 4, 5, 14, and 15 defined by white Out of Bounds stakes located behind bamboo. Hole #5: The pumphouse and surrounding landscape will be played as Ground Under Repair.

Newly Staked trees: if the stakes from a newly staked tree impede your swing or stance you may take free relief. Players will receive one club length and no nearer to the hole.

Players are invited to participate in our optional 9-hole Reverse Par 3 Event. Included in entry fee.

Friday, March 14th

3:00 pm Shotgun Start

FORMAT:

9-hole 2-person true alternate shot par 3

Player “A” hits the tee shots on odd holes, Player “B” hots the tee shot on even holes. After the tee, shot alternates player until the ball is holed out.

HANDICAP:

Handicaps will be 40% of the team's total, with a maximum course handicap of 9 per team for 9 holes.
