As we approach the Fourth of July, our nation will also celebrate an incredible milestone, America's 250th anniversary It's a remarkable reminder of the values that have brought people together for generations: community, service, tradition, and the relationships we build along the way. While Lemon Bay Golf Club certainly isn't 250 years old, I think those same values are reflected every day throughout our membership. Whether it's sharing a round of golf, enjoying dinner with friends, or welcoming new members into the fold, it's the people who make your Club such a special place. Thank you for continuing to foster the welcoming and supportive community that defines Lemon Bay
While the Club may be a little quieter during the summer months, there is certainly no shortage of activity behind the scenes Our leadership team is hard at work preparing both the operating and capital budgets for next season, with the first draft scheduled to be presented to the Finance Committee in July. Summer is an important planning period as we continue investing in the future of the Club while ensuring we remain financially strong.
We're also making great progress on several projects around the property. Development of our new Club website and mobile app continues to move forward, and we remain on schedule for an October/November launch As we get closer to the transition, we'll provide plenty of information about what the change will mean for the membership and how these new tools will improve communication and enhance your overall Club experience
Looking ahead, September will be an especially busy month around Lemon Bay. In addition to our annual course maintenance, members will notice several property improvement projects taking place, including the refreshing of Eagle Preserve Drive and the back area of our parking lot, refreshing the brick pavers throughout the Club, and pressure washing the clubhouse exterior These projects are all part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the Club for our membership.
Our golf course also continues to face the challenges of an unusually dry summer. While we'd certainly welcome a few more afternoon rain showers, I'd like to recognize Eli Rahz and his entire golf course maintenance team for the outstanding job they continue to do. Keeping the course healthy and in excellent playing condition during prolonged drought conditions is no small task, and their hard work and dedication are evident every day
I'd also like to congratulate Nick Royce and Chris Ingalls on the opportunity to work at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Experiences like these allow our young professionals to learn from some of the best in the industry while bringing new ideas and knowledge back to Lemon Bay Golf Club. It's a tremendous opportunity for both of them, and we're proud to support their continued professional development. Be sure to read Eli's article later in this edition for more details about their experience and everything they were able to take away from the trip.

As we move through a warm and active summer season, I am excited to share a few membership updates with you.
One of our major projects currently underway is the development of a new club website, which will launch at the beginning of next season. Along with the website we will introduce an updated mobile app that will be more intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly for members. Our website serves as the front door to the club for prospective members, and these enhancements will help us showcase everything that makes Lemon Bay such a special place
Membership interest remains strong, and we continue to see positive momentum with inquiries and club tours taking place on a weekly basis It is encouraging to see so many individuals and families discovering our club and considering membership!

A Better Shot would not be successful without the dedication, leadership, and support of our incredible volunteers. Many of these young leaders have grown up in our program, developing their skills both on and off the golf course During their high school years, participants contribute an average of more than 200 hours of community service
Our volunteers play a vital role in creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment for younger golfers They begin by assisting with supervision, encouraging good behavior, and helping participants feel welcome. As they gain experience and confidence, they take on greater responsibilities, including assisting with instruction on the driving range and accompanying younger golfers on the course. While mentoring on the course, volunteers teach valuable lessons in course management, golf etiquette, and sportsmanship. Their guidance helps younger players build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for the game of golf
Perhaps the greatest benefit of volunteering is the personal growth it fosters. Through their service, volunteers learn to work effectively with others, develop leadership skills, and build selfconfidence qualities that are essential for success both on and off the course By working in teams of two when teaching younger participants, volunteers are able to provide personalized attention and encouragement, creating a stronger and more rewarding learning experience for every child
The continued support of the members of Lemon Bay makes all of this possible. Your generosity and commitment to A Better Shot help create opportunities that extend far beyond golf instruction. These young people are learning the game of golf, but more importantly, they are developing character, leadership, responsibility, and life skills that will benefit them for years to come.

The Food & Beverage team is hard at work this summer preparing for an exciting season ahead. Our kitchen staff is busy developing new lunch menus and creative culinary offerings for upcoming special events As we plan for your return this fall, the team is also participating in extensive food and kitchen safety training, an essential part of our ongoing commitment to excellence
Our waitstaff is taking part in food and beverage safety training while collaborating on new wine pairings, updated cocktail selections, and seasonal specials designed to enhance your dining experience.

3–5 ripe heirloom tomatoes, sliced
½ loaf crusty bread, torn into pieces
6 eggs, beaten

3 large balls fresh mozzarella, torn into pieces

Instructions (serves 4)
1.Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Spray a loaf pan or large muffin tin with cooking spray.
2.If using fresh bread, lightly toast the torn pieces until just crisp.
3.Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Fold in bread and mozzarella
4 Transfer mixture to prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until set and lightly golden
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh basil, torn or sliced
Balsamic reduction, for drizzling
5 Let the bread pudding cool slightly
6 Arrange sliced heirloom tomatoes on a platter and season with salt and pepper Add basil
7.Slice or portion the bread pudding and place alongside the tomatoes.
8.Drizzle with balsamic reduction just before serving.
The first time I walked a course conditioned for a major championship, I understood that everything I thought I knew about "wellmaintained" was just a baseline. That realization has driven everything we've done at Lemon Bay Golf Club and this summer, it's driving us harder than ever.
The Bimini Bermudagrass we grow is a prolific, thatch-generating grass. Left unchecked, that thatch layer muffles the playing surface softer than it should be, slower to drain, less resilient under traffic Our summer cultural programs are designed to remove it aggressively: verticutting, aerification, and topdressing The damage we inflict in June and July is what allows us to present firm, fast, true surfaces come fall We are not being cautious this year We are pushing But cultural practices alone don't produce excellence. The people do.
In the summer of 2009, I was part of the team that prepared Saucon Valley Country Club for the U.S. Women's Open. I was young enough to think I had a reasonable picture of what a great golf course looked like Saucon corrected that The conditioning that summer went beyond anything I had imagined achievable in firmness, in speed, in uniformity, in the thousand small details that separate a great playing surface from a truly exceptional one The moment that crystallized it came near the end of the week, when our Director of Agronomy took a phone call from Augusta National. They called to congratulate him on achieving the Augusta standard. I was standing close enough to hear both sides. I've thought about that phone call many times since. What I took from that summer wasn't a checklist. It was an understanding of what becomes possible when an entire team refuses to accept "good enough" when every person on the crew holds the same standard on every square foot of the property, every single day Building that culture at Lemon Bay has been the work of the past five years We are not Saucon Valley We are not Muirfield Village But we are building something real. Adding Chris Ingalls in the superintendent role allowed me to step back from the daily details and focus on developing the people and the systems that will get us there. Chris's work ethic sets the standard our crew measures itself against. Nick Royce, joining us as an assistant superintendent in training, has given Chris room to work directly with team members on refining the details that separate good from excellent.
This weeklong experience gave me a great perspective on what can be accomplished when you have a group of people who truly take pride in what they do every single day.

y ut developing our team's culture, Chad invited both Chris and Nick to experience tournament preparation firsthand for the Memorial Tournament. Nick arrived the week before the event and spent seven days working alongside Chad's assistants, interns, and seasonal staff executing the final details that elevate a course from wellmaintained to tournament-ready In his report on the experience, he wrote: "This opportunity showed how important communication, preparation, and teamwork are in producing topquality course conditions every day" That sentence didn't come from a manual He experienced it.
As Nick returned, Chris arrived for nt week He worked directly the tour agronomist as part of the g team on the back nine he most visible, detail-critical of a tour event He observed how ommunicated, how decisions got
made, and how standards were maintained under pressure. In his words: "This weeklong experience gave me a great perspective on what can be accomplished when you have a group of people who truly take pride in what they do every single day Being part of this well-oiled machine for a week really pushed me to want to be the best I can be and start bringing some of MVGC's culture and organization back to LBGC"
Watching them both return with a raised standard and watching that standard ripple through our operation has been one of the most satisfying things I've experienced in this industry. As a young agronomist, the goal was the superintendent's chair. As a seasoned one, the goal is the people in those chairs. In the Muirfield Village maintenance department, they say it simply: iron sharpens iron. I'm grateful every day to have Chris and Nick here sharpening ours

Nick joined the LB team in November 2025 as our Assistant Superintendent in Training and has quickly become a valued member of the crew. Originally from Scarborough, Maine, Nick brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn every day.
When he's not at work, you'll likely find Nick spending time with friends and family or out on the golf course. One of his favorite memories at Lemon Bay has been the group breakfast following the Men's Member-Guest, a great example of the camaraderie that makes the team special Congratulations, Nick, and thank you for your dedication and hard work We're excited to see all you'll continue to accomplish!

Since joining the LB team in January 2026 as a Groundscrew Technician, Stan has made a positive impression through his dedication, reliability, and attention to detail.
Originally from Warwick, New York, in Orange County, he brings a unique background and a wealth of hands-on experience to the maintenance team.
Before his time at Lemon Bay, Stan spent years as a chassis builder for numerous drag racing teams, specializing in cowl, structural, and street chassis fabrication. His passion for motorsports continues outside of work and reflects the same precision and craftsmanship he brings to his role every day
