More recently, we have seen the introduction of folding carry cots that can remain attached to the chassis, o ering an even more convenient solution for parents who want to maximise practicality without compromising on comfort for their little one. It is developments such as these that demonstrate just how responsive this category has become to the needs of modern families.

Ready For
hauck’s Fly N Care is a compact all-in-one travel buggy designed to make every family journey feel lighter, easier and more comfortable from day one.
Family travel is full of little moments that matter: the rst ight with a baby, a weekend away, a train journey to see grandparents, a busy school run with a toddler in tow, or a city break where every hand and every centimetre of space counts. For modern parents, a stroller needs to do more than simply get from A to B. It needs to fold quickly, carry easily, keep children comfortable and make life feel that little bit simpler.
hauck’s Fly N Care has been created for exactly these moments. As part of hauck’s new stroller generation, it brings together compact travel convenience, thoughtful comfort and everyday practicality in one all-in-one buggy. Designed for families who love to move, Fly N Care is ready for airports, train platforms, car boots, pavements and spontaneous days out.
Compactness is at the heart of the product story. Fly N Care folds down to 55 x 45 x 24.5cm and is described as IATA-compatible, making it a natural companion for families planning ights, holidays and short breaks, as well as those who simply want a buggy that stores neatly at home or in the car.
One of Fly N Care’s biggest strengths is that it comes as a complete travel-ready package. The set includes the buggy, seat liner, carry strap, transport bag and
infant car seat adapters, meaning the key travel essentials are already included. For parents, this removes complexity and adds reassurance: everything needed for the next journey is ready from the start.
The one-hand Auto-Fold function has been designed around real family life. When parents are holding a baby, guiding a toddler or managing bags, Fly N Care can be folded quickly and easily. Once folded, it can be carried comfortably over the shoulder using the padded carry strap or placed in the included transport bag, helping families move smoothly through busy spaces.
Comfort has been carefully considered too. Fly N Care is suitable from birth up to 22kg, o ering a exible solution from the earliest days through to toddlerhood. The softly padded seat, additional seat liner and adjustable ve-point harness help little passengers feel secure and supported, while the one-hand adjustable backrest can be moved into a lie- at position for naps on the go.
Everyday details make the di erence. A swivel and removable bumper bar makes getting in and out easier, while the four-wheel suspension and puncture-proof EVA wheels help create a smoother ride across di erent surfaces. Whether families are rolling through an airport, crossing city streets or enjoying a day out, Fly N Care is designed to keep moving with them.
Take-O
For warmer days and longer adventures, the extendable XL canopy with UPF 50+ protection o ers shade and comfort. Large mesh inserts in the canopy and backrest support air ow, helping children stay comfortable when travelling or exploring outdoors. A spacious basket provides room for everyday essentials, from snacks and toys to blankets and changing items, while washable fabrics help keep the buggy fresh for the next outing.
Fly N Care also gives families extra exibility as a travel-system option. With the included adapters, it can be used with common infant car seats, making transitions between car, stroller and travel situations easier. This strengthens Fly N Care’s role as more than a compact holiday buggy: it is a complete mobility solution for families from day one.
The design language adds to the sense of ease and con dence. With its modern silhouette, leather-look handle and bumper bar, and two stylish colour options - Sage Green and Black - Fly N Care combines practicality with a premium feel. It is compact and functional, but still looks considered; a buggy parents can feel good about using every day.
Fly N Care sits within hauck’s new stroller generation, a collection shaped around the way families live, travel and move today. For parents who want an even lighter option, Lite N Care brings a powerful innovation story to the range. With its carbon frame and ultra-light weight of just 5.5kg, Lite N Care is made for maximum lightness without losing comfort, stability or style. It is suitable from birth up to 22kg and includes one-hand folding, a carry strap, UV 50+ protection, XL ventilation and elegant design details.

For families looking for smart folding and practical everyday exibility, Fold N Care adds another now available choice within the same stroller generation. Wheeled Goods
Joie
Joie has built a strong reputation within wheeled goods over the years, but from your perspective, what are parents really prioritising when choosing a pushchair or stroller in today’s market?
Some of the core priorities we see from parents are size and method of fold, weight and general ease of use. These are not necessarily ashy features, but nding the right balance between the core aspects of a stroller and the more “nice to have” features is key. Compact folds and cabin-friendly options appear to be dominating conversations within wheeled goods. How much has consumer demand shifted towards convenience-led products, and how is Joie responding to this trend?
Cabin approved capability was a natural next step for compact folds, and customer requests have de nitely become more prevalent in the last couple of years. Convenience for the parent is something we have traditionally leaned heavily into and is, of course, a big selling point. We will be releasing our cabin approved option very soon. If you had to pinpoint one area of wheeled goods that feels particularly strong or dominant right now, what would it be and why do you think it is resonating so well with families?
Innovation Meets Everyday Style
As one of the most recognised names in wheeled goods, Joie continues to evolve alongside the changing needs of modern families. In this interview, Damon Marriott, Head of Product Management at Joie, discusses the growing demand for compact convenience, the importance of style and functionality, and how innovation continues to shape the future of pushchairs and strollers.
Lately, it seems as though many brands have upped their game when it comes to the aesthetics of soft goods and hard goods, with all aspects of products working seamlessly together. The look and feel of products will always resonate strongly with parents when we are talking about wheeled goods, as strollers in particular are like an extension of themselves and a re ection of their personal style.
Innovation within wheeled goods never seems to slow down. From materials and folding mechanisms to multi-functional designs, where do you feel the biggest product developments are happening at the moment?
Quality and ease of fold is a highlight for me. There are now many mechanisms available that allow simple one hand folds, with the aim always being to make life simpler for parents. Fold and unfold is an incredibly important aspect of a stroller in a parent’s day to day life, so it is no surprise that it remains high on the priority list.
Parents today are incredibly style conscious but also want practicality and value. How important is it for brands to strike that balance between aesthetics, functionality and a ordability?
It is always a balancing act, but we tend to have an o ering at many price points within the market so we can provide
great products and value no matter what people’s budgets are.
Retailers are constantly looking for categories that keep shoppers engaged. What benefits can retailers gain from investing in a strong wheeled goods o ering, and how important is in store demonstration when selling these products?
In my opinion, wheeled goods is one of, if not the most important category to have showcased in store. Many parents want to try before they buy, as there are so many aspects to wheeled goods that must be weighed up and you cannot truly get a full picture when looking online. There is also the nancial outlay to consider, as this can be signi cant for strollers and bundles.
Social media now plays such a huge role in shaping buying decisions for parents. How have platforms like Instagram, TikTok and influencer content changed the way consumers discover and engage with wheeled goods brands?
Social media o ers a really good way for consumers to do their research before committing to a purchase. Social content can help inform users on a deeper level than websites and traditional media by showing real usage of the product and allowing consumers to hear genuine opinions from other users. This provides a research path that
can lead consumers to make an informed decision before going on to purchase either in store or online. Looking ahead, what trends or developments do you think will continue to shape the wheeled goods category over the next few years, and where do you see the biggest opportunities for growth and innovation?
It is always tough to tell, but one area we have been working on is enhanced manoeuvrability, which is, of course, a core aspect of any stroller that will hopefully make parents’ lives easier when out and about. We will continue to invest in improved functionality and ease of use, as we believe ensuring our products are simple to use but e ective is key for parents. www.joiebaby.com

Retail Interview
With Innovation Rolling
As Director of Chelsea Baby, Raj Sanghera has a front row view of the rapidly evolving wheeled goods market. From compact travel solutions and folding carry cots to the growing influence of social media and changing consumer expectations, he shares how today’s parents are shopping, what innovations are making the biggest impact, and why in-store experiences continue to play such an important role in the buying journey.
From Chelsea Baby’s perspective, how informed are today’s parents when it comes to wheeled goods, and have you seen customer knowledge evolve alongside the growth of online reviews, social media and influencer content?
Our customers generally fall into two clear categories. The first are the shell shocked parents who are overwhelmed by the amount of choice and we take our time showing and guiding them through what is available. The second have done their research, usually via social media or online reviews, and want to do a test run with the product before buying.
Are customers typically visiting Chelsea Baby with a specific stroller or travel system already in mind, or are they still open to discovering new products and receiving expert advice in store? Again, we have a mix of customers.
Compact seems to be the flavour of the month, or even the year, with a huge variety of folding carry cots on prams from brands such as Silver Cross, Venicci and Cybex. Brands have really pushed innovation in the compact and stroller market, giving consumers so much more choice than there was before.
Some will walk in knowing exactly what they want, however others want to be shown all the options they have. We have some customers who think they want a certain pram and, once they have had a look at the range, they change their minds. How important are in-store demonstrations when helping parents choose wheeled goods, and which features tend to create the biggest impact during those hands on experiences?
The hands-on demonstrations are the main advantage of a bricks and mortar store over the convenience of online shopping. For most parents to be, as well as those expecting baby two, three or four, touching, feeling and really testing out the prams gives them confidence that the decision they are making is the right one.
Have you seen growing demand for cabin friendly strollers and ultra compact travel solutions as more families look for products that suit holidays, flights and everyday convenience?
Compact seems to be the flavour of the month, or even the year, with a huge variety of folding carry cots on prams from brands such as Silver Cross, Venicci and Cybex. Brands have really pushed innovation in the compact and stroller market, giving consumers so much more choice than there was before.
Our customers are certainly considering the need for cabin and travel friendly strollers during their initial purchases and we have reacted by creating bundles that include some travel strollers with the main pram purchase. For example, when buying your Cybex Priam style bundle, we o er a deal with a matching Cybex Coya to give a full package.
We’re also seeing innovation around travel cots that can fold while still attached to the chassis. How much interest are you seeing in multifunctional products like these, and do you think parents are increasingly prioritising versatility when investing in wheeled goods?
At Chelsea Baby, we think the folding cot will be similar to 360 rotation on car seats, initially seen as a nice feature to have, but eventually becoming the standard for all prams in the market. Are parents currently placing greater emphasis on portability features like lightweight frames and one hand folds, or is there still strong demand for larger, more feature rich travel systems?
For our customers it is a mix of the two, as some are after a compact folding unit to fit in with their lives. However, we also have many who want a bigger, more robust feeling travel system and do not mind the extra space or weight.
Which wheeled goods categories are currently performing strongest for Chelsea Baby, for example compact strollers, travel systems, double buggies, all terrain models or newer hybrid solutions?
Travel systems and compact strollers are definitely our top sellers, but we are seeing more people come in for double buggies.
Are you seeing meaningful innovation across the wheeled goods category at the moment, and are there any new developments or product features that are particularly resonating with your customers?
The biggest recent innovation is definitely the folding carry cot, which is appearing across multiple brands. We are also seeing the use of smarter fabrics that are more weather and
wind resistant, alongside electronics designed to support the movement of prams.
Do you feel recent product launches are successfully meeting parents’ expectations when it comes to functionality, convenience and design, or are there still opportunities within the market?
There has been a wave of newness in the market over the past six months across multiple brands, which gives parents real options in terms of design, aesthetics and practicality.
At Chelsea Baby, we think the folding cot will be similar to 360 rotation on car seats, initially seen as a nice feature to have, but eventually becoming the standard for all prams in the market.
How brand driven are Chelsea Baby customers when shopping for wheeled goods? Are heritage brands continuing to lead the category, or are newer and more niche brands beginning to gain momentum?
I think it is fair to say heritage brands are certainly holding their own. We have seen the continued success of Silver Cross with the Silver Cross Cove and Silver Cross Reef over the past year or so. However, newer brands are innovating and pushing boundaries to gain position.
Have you noticed any emerging trends around colourways,
fabrics or styling within wheeled goods, and how influential are aesthetics in the final purchasing decision?
The two trends we are seeing are, firstly, the rise of chocolate brown, which seems to be the colourway of the moment. The second is the growing importance of rain covers and UV protection to help deal with the typical British weather.
How does the Chelsea Baby team stay up to date with evolving trends, product innovation and changing consumer behaviour within the wheeled goods category?
We have a great relationship with our brands and our account managers visit frequently to ensure our team is up to date with all the latest developments. How important is social media in driving awareness and demand for wheeled goods, and what types of content such as reels, comparison videos or real life demos tend to resonate most strongly with your audience?
Social media is a fantastic way of communicating with potential customers and we use a mix of store made video content and brand provided collateral. As a relative newcomer to the market, we are still finding our niche for the types of videos and reels that we want to showcase.
Are there opportunities Chelsea Baby is looking to explore further online, such as live product demonstrations, buying guides, comparison content or educational features aimed at helping first time parents navigate the category?
We would like to expand our o ering online to showcase products more e ectively. However, we are also keen for customers to head in store to touch, feel and experience the products before purchasing.
How do you operate to align product selection with the trends and conversations happening across platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube?
We try to stay informed of trends across social media, while also working closely with our brands to ensure we have the latest information about what they are planning for the future. Finally, do you feel supported by the brands that you stock or is there anything further they could do to o er you assistance?
We are grateful for our relationship with our brands and the support we receive from them. As one of the newest, but also largest independents in our location, we are being supported by multiple brands who are keen to join us on our journey of growth.

Wheeled Goods Focus Design & Innovation
The Power of Design: How Innovation is Driving the
By Scott Blease, Founder, Plan A Product Development
When people think about design in the wheeled goods sector, they often think about appearance first. They notice the sleek chassis, the premium fabrics or the latest colourways. But in reality, good design runs much deeper than aesthetics.
At its best, design solves problems. It makes life easier for parents, improves safety, enhances functionality and ultimately creates products that people genuinely love to use. Having spent many years developing products across the nursery sector, I’ve seen first-hand how design has become one of the biggest drivers of innovation within wheeled goods.
The pushchairs and strollers we see on the market today are vastly different from those of even a decade ago. Consumer expectations have evolved rapidly and, as a result, product development teams have had to evolve with them.
Today’s parents are asking more from their products than ever before. They want lightweight solutions, compact folding, travel-friendly features, sustainable materials and premium styling, often all wrapped into a single product. Meeting those expectations isn’t easy, but it’s exactly what is making the sector such an exciting place to be.
Designing Around Real Life
One of the biggest shifts I’ve seen is the move towards designing around real-life usage rather than simply meeting technical requirements.
Of course, safety, durability and performance remain absolutely critical. But increasingly, we’re looking at how products fit into everyday family life. How easy is it to fold one-handed? Can it fit into a small car boot? Will it work just as well navigating a busy airport as it does a local park?
These are the questions driving many of today’s design decisions.
Parents are juggling more than ever, and the products they buy need to keep up. The most successful wheeled goods are those that remove friction from everyday life. In many ways, good design is often invisible. When a product works effortlessly, that’s usually the result of countless hours of design and engineering refinement behind the scenes.
Lighter, Smarter, Better
Lightweight design continues to be one of the biggest areas of innovation in the category.
A few years ago, reducing weight often meant making compromises elsewhere. Today, advances in materials and manufacturing techniques mean we can create products that are both lighter and stronger than previous generations.
Refined aluminium structures, improved manufacturing processes and increasingly sophisticated engineering approaches are allowing designers to remove unnecessary weight while maintaining the durability and performance parents expect.
“ ”
Today’s parents are asking more from their products than ever before. They want lightweight solutions, compact folding, travelfriendly features, sustainable materials and premium styling, often all wrapped into a single product.
What’s particularly interesting is that consumers now view lightweight design as an expectation rather than a premium feature. Parents don’t want to wrestle with heavy products. They want solutions that are easy to lift, carry and manoeuvre, and that demand is pushing innovation throughout the sector.
The Travel Revolution
If there’s one trend that has had a huge influence on wheeled goods design in recent years, it’s travel.
Families are travelling more frequently and, understandably, they want products that travel with them. That has created enormous demand for compact folding systems, airline-friendly dimensions and lightweight travel strollers.
Designing a genuinely travel-friendly product is far more complex than simply making it smaller. Every component has to work harder. Folding mechanisms become more sophisticated, chassis geometries are refined and packaging dimensions become increasingly important.
The challenge is always balancing convenience with comfort and functionality. Parents don’t want to sacrifice performance simply because they’re travelling. The brands that are getting this right are finding clever ways to deliver both.
Future of Wheeled Goods
Fabrics Are Working Harder Than Ever
While chassis innovation often grabs the headlines, fabrics have quietly become one of the most important areas of product development.
Modern textile technologies are transforming what parents can expect from wheeled goods. Today’s fabrics need to be durable, easy to clean, breathable, weather resistant and visually appealing. Increasingly, they also need to support sustainability goals.
We’ve seen signi cant growth in the use of recycled materials and performance textiles, alongside improvements in ventilation and comfort features. Parents are becoming much more informed about the materials used in the products they purchase, and manufacturers are responding accordingly.
What I nd particularly exciting is how fabrics are now contributing to both function and brand identity. They’re no longer simply a covering; they’re an integral part of the overall product experience.
Reinventing the Bassinet
Another area that has seen some genuinely clever innovation is the bassinet.
Historically, bassinets have often been viewed as essential but bulky components. They can be awkward to store, di cult to transport and take up valuable space both in retail environments and in consumers’ homes.
Today, we’re seeing designers challenge those assumptions.
Innovative folding bassinets are creating
The pushchairs and strollers we see on the market today are vastly di erent from those of even a decade ago. Consumer expectations have evolved rapidly and, as a result, product development teams have had to evolve with them.
new opportunities for parents who want all the bene ts of a traditional bassinet without the storage headaches. Developing these solutions requires careful consideration of safety, comfort and structural integrity, but when done well, they can signi cantly improve the user experience.
It’s a great example of how design innovation doesn’t always have to be revolutionary. Sometimes the most valuable innovations are the ones that solve everyday frustrations.
Sustainability is Shaping Every Conversation
No discussion about modern product design would be complete without mentioning sustainability.
A few years ago, sustainability was often treated as a separate conversation. Today, it’s becoming embedded within the design process itself.
We’re seeing increasing focus on recycled materials, longer product lifecycles, repairability and more responsible manufacturing practices. Consumers are asking tougher questions about where products come from, how they’re made and how long they’ll last.
That’s a positive development for the industry.
Good sustainability and good design should work hand in hand. Products that are built to last, designed thoughtfully and engineered e ciently are often better products in every sense.
Looking Ahead
One of the things I love most about working in product development is that innovation never stands still.
As designers, engineers and manufacturers, we’re constantly looking for new ways to improve products and better serve the needs of modern families. Whether that’s through smarter materials, more compact folding technologies, improved sustainability or entirely new product concepts, the opportunities for innovation remain enormous. What I believe will continue to separate the market leaders from the rest is a commitment to design-led thinking.
Because great design isn’t just about making products look better. It’s about understanding how people live, identifying challenges and creating solutions that genuinely make life easier.
