Welcome to the latest issue of Kitchenware International - and, for me personally, the start of an exciting new chapter.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Rachel Redhead, and I am delighted to be joining Kitchenware International as the editor. It’s a real pleasure to introduce myself and, more importantly, to introduce the vision we have for the magazine moving forward.

Returning to Lema Publishing feels a lot like coming home. Having worked with the company previously, it’s wonderful to be back with such a passionate and experienced team, and I’m incredibly excited to now be leading a title that sits at the heart of such a creative, innovative and welcoming industry.

Over the coming months I’m looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible - whether that’s at trade shows, industry events, supplier showrooms or simply over a cup of tea or coffee (or even matcha if we must).

One thing that stands out to me about the kitchenware sector is how collaborative it is.

Behind every product launch, retailer display and exhibition stand are passionate people with fascinating stories to tell, and I can’t wait to help share those stories with our readers.

This magazine has long been a trusted source of industry news, insight and inspiration, and I’m keen to build on that foundation. We’re looking at expanding the magazine with additional issues in the future, giving us more opportunities to showcase new products, emerging trends, inspiring businesses and the people helping to shape the global kitchenware market.

Of course, none of that would be possible without the support of our readers, advertisers, contributors and industry partners, so thank you for continuing to be part of the Kitchenware International community.

And with the autumn exhibition season fast approaching, we preview three of the industry’s key international events. From the design inspiration of Maison&Objet in Paris to the sourcing opportunities at ZUCHEX in Istanbul and MEGA SHOW Hong Kong, the months ahead promise to be busy ones for buyers and suppliers alike.

versatility to the kitchen with Chromatica cookware collection Italian design house Sambonet has expanded its presence in the cookware category with the launch of Chromatica, a contemporary collection that combines colourful design with practical functionality for today’s kitchens.

Known for its premium tableware and hospitality products, the brand is extending its design-led approach into cookware with a collection created to reflect changing consumer lifestyles, where cooking, serving and entertaining are increasingly connected.

At the heart of the new range is Sambonet’s first removable-handle cookware system, designed to offer greater flexibility both during cooking and when storing products.

The detachable handle enables cookware to move effortlessly from the hob to the oven before being transferred directly to the dining table for serving.

Once removed, the handle also allows the pans to be stacked neatly, helping consumers maximise storage space in smaller kitchens.

Manufactured from aluminium, the cookware has been designed to offer lightweight everyday performance while remaining suitable for oven use when the handle has been detached. The range also features a PFAS-free non-stick coating, reflecting the growing industry move towards more environmentally conscious cookware materials without compromising ease of use.

Beyond its practical benefits, Chromatica has been developed with aesthetics firmly in mind. Distinctive colours and clean contemporary lines transform each piece from a purely functional kitchen tool into an attractive serving item, allowing consumers to take dishes directly from cooker to table.

area30 will return to Löhne, Germany, from 19-24 September 2026, bringing together around 180 brands and an expected 12,000 trade visitors for six days of product launches, networking and business.

The exhibition continues to position itself as a key meeting point during the autumn kitchen buying season, offering retailers, buying groups and kitchen specialists the opportunity to discover the latest products, strengthen industry relationships and place orders.

For 2026, organiser trendfairs GmbH has introduced several new initiatives under the leadership of new Managing Director Christopher Boss.

Alongside its continued focus on business, the event will place greater emphasis on visitor guidance, innovation and networking.

New Guided Tours will help visitors navigate the exhibition more efficiently by highlighting relevant exhibitors, product innovations and key industry topics. Another addition is ‘Long Tuesday’ on 22 September, when extended opening hours will provide extra time for meetings, discussions and networking.

Vitality House secures distribution for Mobi Kitchenware and Wild Wood iVitality House has expanded its kitchenware portfolio after being appointed the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for American kitchenware brand Mobi, bringing the Californian company’s products to British retailers for the first time through a dedicated distribution network.

The partnership marks Mobi’s first retail and logistics base in the UK and was officially unveiled at Exclusively Housewares Founded in California, Mobi has established a strong reputation in the United States through its focus on innovative product design, patented kitchen solutions and practical everyday cooking accessories. The range includes peelers, graters, measuring spoons, colanders, silicone cookware, kitchen gadgets and a broad selection of food preparation tools.

Through the agreement, the collection will become available to specialist cookshops, garden centres, major retailers and online channels

throughout the UK and Ireland, giving retailers access to a brand already well established in the North American market.

Laurence Smith, Director of Vitality House, believes the partnership represents an important opportunity to introduce something different to the UK kitchenware sector.

“Taking on Mobi is an exciting move for us as we continue to develop the brands we supply across the UK and Ireland,” he said. “Mobi offers retailers a fresh proposition with innovative products that have been carefully developed and are designed to grow and disrupt the category.”

Vitality House has further strengthened its premium kitchenware portfolio after securing exclusive UK and Ireland distribution rights for Australian chopping board specialist Wild Wood.

Wild Wood founders Janie and Jonathan travelled to the UK to finalise the partnership and meet retailers alongside Vitality House Director Laurence Smith, highlighting the importance of the UK market within the company’s international growth plans.

Commenting on the appointment, Smith said the brand had already received an encouraging response from buyers.

“Being appointed as Wild Wood’s exclusive UK and Ireland partner is an exciting opportunity to help retailers further develop this category,” he said. “The feedback from retailers who have seen the products has been extremely positive.”

Pinch of Nom kitchenware range heads to retail following licensing agreement A new range of Pinch of Nom branded kitchenware is set to arrive in UK and Ireland retail stores later this year after Bulldog Licensing secured a new agreement with PMS International.

The collection marks the popular recipe brand’s latest move into licensed consumer products and includes bakeware, kitchen utensils and air fryer accessories designed to complement the everyday cooking style that has made Pinch of Nom one of the UK’s most recognisable food brands.

The range made its trade debut at Spring Fair, where it attracted strong retailer interest ahead of its planned retail launch. Products will carry the distinctive Pinch of Nom branding across both the items themselves and their packaging, helping retailers capitalise on the popularity of the bestselling cookbook series and online community.

Originally launched as a Facebook group and food blog by Kate and Kay Allinson, Pinch of Nom has grown into one of Britain’s biggest publishing success stories. The first cookbook became the fastest-selling cookbook since records began, while the brand has now sold more than five million books and built an online audience of more than four million followers.

Fiskars Group records fourth consecutive quarter of sales growth

Peugeot introduces Northern Lights colour collection Peugeot is bringing a fresh colour palette to the kitchen and dining table with the launch of Northern Lights, a new collection inspired by the shifting tones of northern landscapes.

Grad sets a new standard in wine service Danish brand Grad is bringing a fresh approach to professional wine service with the launch of Grad No.1, a rechargeable wine cooler that offers an elegant alternative to the traditional ice bucket.

Combining Scandinavian design with advanced temperature control, Grad No.1 is designed for restaurants, hotels, wine bars and premium hospitality venues.

Global consumer goods company Fiskars Group has reported its fourth consecutive quarter of comparable net sales growth, with the owner of brands including Fiskars, Iittala, Wedgwood, Waterford, Royal Copenhagen and Gerber continuing to improve profitability during the second quarter of 2026.

Comparable net sales increased by 2.7% during the period, driven by strong performance within the company's Vita business area, where sales rose by 5.5%.

The Fiskars business area delivered stable sales while maintaining profitability despite continued uncertainty across international markets.

Fiskars Group has continued to focus on strengthening its portfolio of premium lifestyle and home brands while improving operational efficiency across the business.

The latest results suggest those initiatives are beginning to deliver sustained improvements in both sales performance and profitability.

Innovation across Scandinavian nations

Stelton is an innovative Danish design house, with an ambition to create timeless and functional design, which makes everyday life more beautiful. Design that is sustainable because it stands the test of time aesthetically and quality-wise.

Stelton’s design families and many product lines are the result of fruitful collaborations with international designers and architects. Collaborations which have often been awarded with design prices like Red Dot, German Design Award and the ID price.

Iconic designs like Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda-line and Erik Magnussen’s EM77 vacuum jug are the basis of Stelton’s DNA, and the durable, functional products are present in homes and offices all over the world.

Beyond Denmark and Scandinavia, Britain’s Sir Paul Smith was the creative force behind a series of limitededition collaborations titled “Paul Smith for Stelton.” These were primarily created to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Timeless design

since 1960

Stelton, the Danish design company, has been a significant force in interior design since its launch in 1960. Crafting timeless Scandinavian designs, it offers a range of sleek and functional kitchenware and home accessories, renowned for minimalist aesthetic and high-quality craftsmanship. We asked the Stelton CEO, Mads Ring Damgaard, to take us through the Company’s heritage, philosophy and brand identity Mads Ring Damgaard was promoted to Stelton CEO in March 2024, having joined the company in 2017 as commercial director.

He succeeded his father-in-law who had been twenty years at the head of the group. In this focussed interview he reflects on the foundations of the brand, his reading of contemporary design, and the directions that will guide its development in the years to come.

What defines Stelton in 2026 and where does the brand stand today?

In 2026, Stelton is a brand deeply rooted in its design heritage – a heritage we believe holds lasting value. At the same time, we are genuinely curious about how far it can take us. It is not an easy bal-

ance to strike, but it is exactly what we work on and with every day.

Arne Jacobsen’s Cylinda-line from 1967 and Erik Magnussen’s EM77 from 1977 are more than products – they are reference points and a big part of our DNA. These design icons define what Stelton is: a cylindrical foundation, functional simplicity and a graphic expression where precision and strong proportions create lasting impact.

Whenever we introduce something new, these products are our benchmark. It is important to us that our design language remains immediately recognisable, even as we move into new product categories. For us, recognisability comes from working according to the same principles: simplicity, quality,

material understanding and a high degree of respect for the original design intent.

The BRUS sparkling water maker is a perfect example. Søren Refsgaard translated Stelton’s classic cylindrical forms into a new product category and a new everyday need, and the product alone has all the characteristics of Stelton DNA. The same applies to this autumn’s launches. The Emma electric kettle in clear glass and stainless steel, designed by HolmbäckNordentoft, continues the collection’s calm design language while introducing a new level of precision through adjustable temperature control.

design language. The collection launches with double-walled stainless steel cups and a minimalist bread box designed for both the kitchen and the table.

The Pilastro collection demonstrates our heritage in a different way. Inspired by Art Deco, Francis Cayouette combines glass, rhythm and structure in a timeless expression. This autumn, the collection expands with a stackable serving dish, lowball glasses and a wine stopper, all continuing the collection’s characteristic rhythm and tactile surface.

In this way, our design heritage is not an anchor – it is a compass for the future.

What has become more important in your product development?

Stelton’s birth, timeline and evolution It all started over 60 years ago with two ex-soldier friends creating one of the most well-known design brands in Denmark. First, they tried selling sports shoes and furniture, but sales did not really take off. Then they heard about a small factory in Fårevejle in Northern Seeland. The factory was called “Danish Stainless”

Danish Stainless produced serveware in stainless steel which was very modern in Denmark during the 1960s. After having made a deal with the owner of Danish Stainless, Jørgen Knudsen, Stelton started promoting a sauce bowl in stainless steel which became very popular with the Danish hardware stores. At the same time the gravy boat became very popular outside of Denmark. In the US products from Danish Stainless were synonymous with Danish design and were sold in exclusive department stores and design shops.

Stelton’s design families and many product lines are the result of fruitful collaborations with international designers and architects. Collaborations which have often been awarded with design prices like Red Dot, German Design Award and the ID price.

Stelton’s coffee and tea collections have been extended with jugs and cups in stoneware, the new modern classic ‘Emma’ in steel and moulded beech wood, as well as different French Press models and mocha coffee makers for coffee enthusiasts. The assortment also comprises bar

Exclusively returned to the Business Design Centre, London, on 9–10 June, reinforcing its position as the UK’s leading trade event for housewares, tabletop, small domestic appliances and giftware.

Organised by BHETA – the British Home Enhancement Trade Association – Exclusively has become a key fixture in the industry calendar, bringing together brands, retailers and suppliers from across the home enhancement sector. The show provides a unique platform for discovering new products, exploring emerging trends and creating valuable commercial connections across the retail landscape.

Bringing together more than 130 exhibitors representing over 250 brands, the two-day event delivered an extensive showcase of product innovation, trend forecasting and commercial opportunities for retailers preparing their ranges for 2027 and beyond.

The continued strength of the show was reflected in exhibitor demand, with stand space selling out months ahead of the event.

Strong buyer attendance from across multiple retail channels further underlined Exclusively’s role as a key date in the industry calendar – a place where brands, buyers and industry professionals come together to discover products, share ideas and discuss the future of retail.

Bringing together the retail community This year’s edition welcomed buyers and decision-makers from some of the UK’s most recognisable retail brands, including Harrods, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Ocado, Currys, Boots, B&Q, Costco, Wayfair, Robert Dyas, Next, Amazon, Lakeland, TK Maxx, Argos and John Lewis, alongside representatives from independent retailers, department stores, garden centres, online marketplaces and the HORECA sector.

Developed in partnership with trend experts Scarlet Opus, the showcase explored the consumer mindset of ‘The Dreamers’, helping visitors understand not only what future products could look like, but also the emotional drivers behind changing consumer purchasing behaviour.

International expansion Attracting buyers from Europe and further afield is a key goal of the show, and this year the show introduced its first London Store Tour, created specifically for international visitors. The initiative offered curated retail visits across the city, providing valuable insight into UK merchandising, consumer behaviour and in-store experiences.
