A focus on sustainability

Paperworld 2022 shines the spotlight on eco issues, and brings the latest trends and digital networking to the fore

Paperworld is the international trade fair for stationery, office supplies and writing instruments, held in Frankfurt, from 29 January until 1 February 2022.

Sustainability is becoming a key focus across industries, and has played an important role at Paperworld for years. With the introduction of the Special Interest Sustainability, the 2022 show will focus even more specifically on sustainabilityoriented exhibitors and their products.

“Customers increasingly prefer durable products and stationery articles produced in an environmentally friendly way,’’ says Eva Olbrich, director of Paperworld, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.

Visitors will be able to look out for the sustainability marking on the awardwinning stands and find suppliers who are doing remarkable things in the field. All sustainability-oriented exhibitors are also highlighted online, so that trade buyers can easily filter their searches.

Visitors will also find topics relating to sustainability integrated into the supporting programme, with presentations on eco-fair purchasing and environmentally friendly solutions for the modern office, along with lectures on environmentally conscious purchasing.

New ideas

The first port of call for the latest innovations is Paperworld Trends, in Hall 3.1. Here, three trend worlds for the coming season will be presented, combining modern working with hip lifestyle trends. On behalf of Messe Frankfurt, the designers of the bora.herke.palmisano style agency are taking trends from fashion, architecture and art and adapting them to the world of stationery products.

Also in Hall 3.1 is the BMWi area, where young start-ups present fresh ideas and unconventional products under the motto Innovation made in Germany - a great place to learn about forward-looking product ideas.

The Association of Greeting Card Manufacturers and Publishers will again have its own area for its member companies in Hall 3.1 in 2022 - the exhibition for the Golden Greeting Card competition will also be located there.

Tickets

Only online tickets can be purchased - all are personalised and only valid for a specific date. You will also need to show a Covid vaccination certificate, convalescent certificate or valid test certificate, plus photo ID. Tickets are available at paperworld.messefrankfurt.com/tickets.

Going digital

An online platform for Paperworld will increase the international reach for exhibiting companies and trade visitors and promote new contacts, networking opportunities and knowledge transfer.

Digital exchange via chat or video is already possible one week before and two weeks after the event, so that highlights can be experienced by visitors who are not able to travel to the fair. The videos will be made available afterwards on the Conzoom Solutions knowledge platform.

Did you know?

Creativeworld has been running the Kreativ hilft fund-raising campaign for many years. Exhibiting companies are asked to donate their creative products to Frankfurt children’s and youth facilities for a good cause after the trade show. More than 3,000 Frankfurt children and young people benefit from these donations every year.
