Fair Focus Spring Fair 2022

Spring Fair is back!

This February Spring Fair is back with a bang – 6th-9th February 2022.

As a leading marketplace for wholesale home, gift, fashion and sourcing, Spring Fair, which also now incorporates fashion destination Moda, is known as a nucleus for creativity, inspiration, trends and order writing, as well as bringing the industry together, building communities, nurturing collaboration, and facilitating relationships that last.

The event was sorely missed by everyone last year with the good news being the live event is full steam ahead and will take place at NEC Birmingham on the 6th – 9th February 2022. Featuring four key buying destinations – Home, Gift, Fashion and Design & Source spanning over 12 halls of the NEC, as well as the Inspiring Retail Stage which takes on the theme of empowering change featuring inspiring and innovative retailers who are changing their business with a positive impact.

Noah Home and Gift Boutique owner Nicola Scarff told Gifts Today: “I am so looking forward to catching up with our existing suppliers and seeing their new collections as well as meeting potential new suppliers and touching and seeing products ‘in real life’!” Adding “During the pandemic online shopping has been a lifeline and as essential for wholesale customers as it has been for consumers. However it can be so time consuming and there is no substitute for being able to touch the products and to hear the back stories from their creators which really brings their products to life.”

Map Gifts Shop partner Kathryn Phalp agrees also commenting that they are looking forward to connecting with suppliers and agents again. “We’ve been doing this for a long time now and have learned it’s the relationships that make the shows interesting/rewarding and fun. It’s hard to build those relationships without meeting face to face.”

With its unparalleled cross-buying opportunities, Spring Fair creates a compelling and unmissable platform for buyers to touch, feel, and experience the latest products, trends and innovations across home, gift, fashion, and sourcing – from across the UK and overseas. In the burgeoning Gift sector situated in the heart of the show, buyers will discover, for example, Widdop & Co, Bloomingville, Joe Davies, Lesser & Pavey, Rex London, Enesco, Puckator, Rachel Ellen Designs, Ashleigh & Burwood, Emma Ball, Mad Beauty, Scottish Fines Soaps and many more leading brand names.

Ashleigh & Burwood’s Managing Director, Andrew Nettleton is looking forward to returning once more this year stating: “We’ve missed Spring Fair and all that it offers exhibitors and visitors. It’s the show that has all the right ingredients; the best mix of products and people brought together in the ideal location and it is perfectly timed for buying choices to be made for the whole year ahead.” D&J Glassware’s Co Founder Jocelyne Royou-Roznowski also expressed their delight at returning once more this year commenting: “We have always viewed Spring Fair as the main event in our calendar and are excited to be back again. Nothing replaces the buzz we get from seeing visitors and introducing them to ‘our world’.”

Joe Davies are also welcoming the return this year of Spring Fair with their Commercial Director Paul Hooker stating: “At Joe Davies we love to see and support our customers and there is no better place to do that than at a trade show. We made the decision very early on to support our regular exhibitions, so not attending Spring Fair was never in question for us, if the show is taking place we are there. We missed the show so much last year and we can’t wait to be back.”

Of course safety for all is paramount this year and this is taken seriously by the show organisers with Julie Driscoll, Divisional Managing Director for Retail, Engineering and Manufacturing at Hyve Group plc stating; “We are confidently planning for the show and are very much looking forward to seeing all of you there. As we always have done, we take our responsibilities around Health & Safety at our events incredibly seriously. Anyone entering into the NEC venue at Spring Fair (including those during build-up and breakdown) will need to show their valid Covid-19 Pass, or a negative result to a Lateral Flow Test taken within 48hours. In addition, aligned to Government guidelines, all attendees will wear a face covering during the show.” Although the digital landscape has been great during previous lockdowns, there is no substitute to see and touch product with Julie adding: “What 2021 has highlighted is the importance of reliability and retailers being able to see and touch what they are buying; one thing is clear they cannot afford another year of virtual buying. Spring Fair has been a vital cog in the retail supply chain for sourcing products and reinforcing those face-to-face relationships for many years and in 2022 it is vitally important for our industry that Spring Fair opens its doors to allow retailers to restock and buy for the year ahead.” We bring you a great flavour of what you can expect to find within the show halls this year in our full preview within the following pages. 6-9 February 2022 NEC Birmingham, B40 1NT, UK Opening Times: Sunday, 6 February | 9:00 - 18:00 Monday, 7 February | 9:00 - 18:00 Tuesday, 8 February | 9:00 - 18:00 Wednesday, 9 February | 9:00 - 16:00 www.springfair.com
