Installation is just the beginning at Lely

At Lely we see installation as just the beginning of our partnership.

Our unique Farm Management Support (FMS) advisors are committed to guiding you through every step.

Giving advice prior to installation, whilst collaborating with vets and nutritionists to enable a seamless transition and enhancing both cow welfare and farm productivity, FMS will also be there during start up to guide cows through their first automated milking and give technical support.

This is followed by at least two calls a year on farm or over video call, helping enhance use of robotic systems and software, plus discussion groups and thirdparty training throughout the year

Yeovil FMS Team

Jon Eldridge, who joined Lely in 2013, has 30 years’ experience within the industry and 14 years in milking automation.

Jon said: “I love my job, I feel I can make a positive difference and play a small part in helping to make the world a better place for cows, and the people that manage them.”

Beth Medlicott has a background in ruminant

nutrition and herd management, joining in 2021. She can advise on all aspects including grazing, reproduction, and overall business management.

Beth said: “My role allows me to give an outside perspective, enabling me to help farmers optimise their systems.”

The team also has two part time FMS advisors – Matthew Senior, a passionate Lely farmer who specialises in grazing and Lewis Edge, an experienced Lely service engineer in our eastern region. Their diverse perspectives and expertise enrich the team’s approach.

Holsworthy FMS Team

Merryn joined the team in 2021 having worked as a nutritionist for five years in Cornwall and Devon. Moving to LC Holsworthy has enabled her to continue to work closely with dairy farmers and redirect focus on robot settings and optimisation as well as support those moving to automation.

Becky Butland joined the team in 2024. She has experience from working on her home farm in Devon, which has a Lely Astronaut robot, as well as many transferable skills from her time in New Zealand on a dairy farm, and her work with Duchy College’s Healthy Livestock Project, NFU and Tamar Valley National Landscape.

Becky said: “I enjoy seeing the benefits we can bring to our customer’s businesses.” To get in touch contact LC Yeovil: 01935 577024 or LC Holsworthy: 01409 413122
