We are excited to invite you to the 10th consecutive Bayhealth Foundation Southern Golf Tournament on Oct. 4 at the Southern Delaware Golf Club in Milford, Delaware. This event will directly support the Bayhealth Cancer Institute’s Nurse Navigation Program, that aides cancer patients in their journey and reduces barriers to care. Your participation will strengthen our continued work to offer innovative treatments and services for community members battling cancer.
Through clinical expertise and personalized care, our talented Bayhealth Cancer Institute team offers hope for a healthier future for every cancer patient at Bayhealth Kent and Sussex Campuses. Using advanced technology and the highest quality standards, we remain focused on advancing cancer care at every step in the cancer care continuum, to improve patient outcomes. Through our comprehensive program approach, our vision is to offer all services locally in our communities.
For 20 years, Bayhealth’s team of nurse navigators have compassionately assisted patients through each step after a diagnosis of cancer, aiding and supporting them in their journey to better health. Our navigators work tirelessly with their patients to ensure a seamless coordination of care. From scheduling appointments and meetings with multidisciplinary teams, to providing resources and overall support, our navigators are truly their patients’ cheerleaders throughout their treatment journeys.
Bayhealth’s cancer program has expanded in recent years to meet the growing needs of our community. Our first two fellows started in our Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program this past July. Bayhealth boasts the first and only program in Delaware created to train the next generation of hematologist-oncologist physicians. Bayhealth’s comprehensive cancer program offers the fellows a full training experience in the delivery of cancer care, including genetic testing and counseling through our partnership with Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center Telegenetics Program.

Originally opened in 1960 as a 9-hole course known as Shawnee Country Club, Southern Delaware Golf Club is now a unique 18-hole Parkland style golf course nestled just outside of historic downtown Milford. Opened in May of 2024, the challenging yet fair course has been completely renovated featuring brand new bunkers and greens sure to delight golfers of all ages and abilities.
