The BIG Weekend 2019!

Welcome to the Harborough BIG Weekend, as part of the annual Leicester Comedy Festival! The enormous festival is the biggest festival of its kind in Europe and is bigger and better in 2019! We’re thrilled to be arriving in Harborough for the first time, following hugely successful shows as part of Leicester Comedy Festival 2018.

We are working with a range of partners, including Harborough District Council, who have massively embraced the project and supported us in putting this weekend on.

You can expect headline acts, events for children and young people and 2 exclusive shows at Harborough Market which will be transformed into a theatre just for the weekend! The Harborough BIG Weekend will give you a taste of the main festival, on your doorstep so do check out the programme and enjoy!

Award-winning Leicestershire wine merchants, Duncan Murray Wines, have hosted drinks tastings for many years on topics such as a sparkling wine re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt. For the Leicester Comedy Festival we are pulling out all the stops for a night of Ghoulish Gargleblasters followed by a Ghost Walk hosted by comedic legend Arthur Smith. COMEDY FILM SHOW Some Like It Hot (12) After witnessing a Mafia murder, slick saxophone player Joe (Tony Curtis) and his buddy, Jerry (Jack Lemmon), improvise a quick plan to escape from Chicago with their lives. Disguising themselves as women, they join an all-female jazz band and hop a train bound for sunny Florida. Based on the classic BBC sitcom by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, and the radio adaptations by Harold Snoad and Michael Knowles. David's semiautobiographical, award-winning show "Think No Evil Of Us" has become a regular fi xture on the UK theatre circuit, and London's West End, and this talk will help reveal how David's unusual childhood led to an extraordinary connection with the Carry On star.
