PVC COMPOUND CENTRAL VACUUM
The System: Central vacuum for industrial cleaning of around a PVC blend tower.
The Challenges: The materials handled are very explosive with a high Kst and Pmax compared to some general cleaning systems.
Also, the work area is state of the art and the blower was to be in a remote blower room to keep sound down in the area where the operators are working.
Solution: Explosion protection was address by the addition of explosion isolation on the convey lines in and out of the filter receiver
The filter housing was reinforced to a higher Pred allowing for a side mounted explosion vent ducted safety to an outside wall.

System Features:
• 30 HP TurboTron™ exhauster
• Explosion venting through exterior wall
• Inlet and outlet explosion isolation
• NFPA-rated rotary airlock
• Gain in weight scale under bulk bag
• Top removal cartridge filter elements
• Remote push buttons to factory PLC
Explosion Protection: Duel inlets were used to ensure proper velocity in the tubing runs. For this reason two inlet isolation cannons were mounted to the convey lines into the filter.
The explosion vent was ducted through the wall to a safe location outside. An explosion burst indicator will shut the system down should the panel rupture.
Grounded Filter Elements:
Cartridge filter elements included a ground strap to ensure grounding to the tube sheet
The pleated cartridges provided maximum filter media while keeping the volume of the filter as small as possible, to keep the explosion vent as small as possible.
