FOR CURRENT & NEW FAMILIES 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
WELCOME TO LEGACY! Dear New Legacy Families, On behalf of our entire faculty, staff, and students, welcome home. We are so excited that you have chosen Legacy Christian Academy, and we count it a sacred privilege to partner with you in the education and discipleship of your children. At Legacy, we believe every student is Imago Dei, created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Because of this, we see each child not just for who they are today, but for who God is calling them to become. Our prayer is that your child will grow in wisdom and character, develop their God-given gifts, and learn to live for His glory and the good of others. Our mission is simple and eternal: Strong Leaders. Biblical Convictions. We are committed to developing students who lead with integrity, think with discernment, and stand firm in their faith wherever God calls them. From the classroom to the athletic field, from the stage to service opportunities, we challenge our students to pursue excellence for the glory of God and to make a difference in His world. We know that the greatest influence in your child's life is you. That is why we cherish our partnership with parents. You are your child's first and primary disciple-makers, and we are honored to walk alongside you as a trusted extension of your home. Together, we form a circle of care and accountability around your child, encouraging them toward Christlikeness and preparing them for a life of impact. This Thrive Guide is designed to help you navigate life at Legacy with confidence. You will find important information, helpful resources, and a glimpse into the many ways your family can belong, engage, and grow in our vibrant community. We believe God has incredible plans for your child, for your family, and for this year ahead. We cannot wait to see what He will do in and through you. My prayer is that you will feel known, supported, and encouraged here. Let us make this a year of growth, purpose, and joy as we seek to honor God in all we do together. Strong Leaders. Biblical Convictions.
THREE TRUTHS THAT SHAPE WHO WE ARE
OUR MISSION Legacy Christian Academy develops strong leaders with biblical convictions who are equipped to succeed in college and beyond.
IMAGO DEI "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27 We see each student as image bearers of God-worthy of dignity, purpose, and love.
PARENTAL PARTNERSHIP "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 We value and honor the Godgiven role of parents and are
Kevin Mosley Head of School
committed to walking alongside you every step of the way.

LOWER SCHOOL GRADES 1 - 4 Homework: Homework is intended to reinforce previously taught skills. Multiple research studies have shown that homework at the elementary level does not have a positive effect on student learning outcomes. Therefore, the focus at Lower School of homework is on learning habits of practice as well as allowing time for extracurricular activities and family time. Students will have a weekly Bible verse to memorize. One of the best ways parents can help at home is by reading with your child! 1st and 2nd grade will also be encouraged to practice addition and subtraction facts. 3rd and 4th grade will be encouraged to practice multiplication and division facts. SI students should practice reading in English at home to continue to increase their English skills as well as reading in Spanish. Field Trips: 1st-3rd grade has two annual field trips that are included in the cost of tuition. 4th grade has an overnight field trip to Austin and San Antonio as a culminating LS event. Report Cards: Lower School report cards are shared three times a year with parents. The report cards are standards-based to provide parents with a clear understanding of the current skills your child has mastered or is acquiring.

Parents and special guests will sit at designated tables with your students. Please do not invite other students to eat with you. Each classroom will have a designated snack time. We encourage healthy, non-messy snacks since snacks will be eaten in the classrooms near learning materials. Appetites usually go up at the end of the day so protein and healthy carbs are encouraged. Some classes will be “nut-free” based on allergies. Our Lower School nurse will make these decisions based on class lists.
THRIVE | 2026-27
LOWER SCHOOL GRADES 1 - 4 WATER BOTTLES Please send a “pop-top” style water bottle labeled with your child’s name each day. Please do not send bottles with screw lids or a large opening as they tend to spill easily over tables, floors, and technology resources. ITEMS FROM HOME All toys, electronics, and stuffed animals should be kept at home to prevent distractions. Teachers will inform you of times when items from home may be brought to school such as “Show and Tell.” Lower School students follow the LCA cell phone policy. Students may not use cell phones or other electronic devices (including smart watches) from home throughout the day. We encourage you to help us “keep our littles little” and discourage any makeup on students at LS. Additionally, girls with “tips” need to be at finger length since longer tips impede writing and cutting skills.
LOST AND FOUND The lost and found is located in the gym/cafeteria. Parents are welcome to come and look for items at any time after checking in at the front desk. Items that are labeled are reunited by staff with students once a week.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADES 5 - 8 LUNCH Middle school students eat in the cafeteria daily. Students are welcome to enjoy the all-inclusive lunch or bring lunch from home. Microwaves are available for Middle School student usage in the cafeteria. Lunch may not be delivered by outside services. Parents are welcome to drop off lunch for their student only (to ensure fairness and minimize disruption, parents may not bring food for groups of students). Please label all lunches/drinks with the student’s name and grade level. Due to limited staffing, lunches are not delivered to students, so please notify your student in advance if you plan to drop off lunch. We encourage parents to treat their student to a special lunch with Mom or Dad on occasion. You can make this time more meaningful by keeping it infrequent. If you plan to join your student for lunch, please inform your student of the day and notify their teacher. Check in at the Guest Entrance and wear your guest badge. Guest Lunch tables are available as you enter the cafeteria. Please ensure you and your student sit in the designated area.
