By serving a wide area and connecting travelers from across that area, Legacy Tour & Travel is able to offer you a more unique and diverse tour calendar while still maintaining optimal group sizes. It allows us to offer value in our pricing and increases the likelihood of operating as many tour departures as possible.

We are committed to providing just enough departure location options while also balancing individual convenience with travel efficiency, cost, and overall group satisfaction. At the time of booking, travelers will be given the opportunity to choose one of the available locations. Depending on your departure location selection, prices may vary. For certain tours, the total number of days may vary as well. "Gathering Days" will often be used prior to the start of the "base tour," allowing all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

At Home Pick-up

“At Home Pick-up” is primarily designed to offer convenience to the traveler, while also alleviating some of the logistical challenges of gathering a group in large metro areas.

This currently includes those living in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties in Illinois, along with Lake, Porter, & LaPorte counties in northwest Indiana.

3 Active - Good mobility needed - stairs and prolonged standing - walking longer distances over uneven ground

4 Moderately Challenging - Climbing stairs and prolonged standing - energetic activities along with walking distances up to two miles over varied landscapes

How are group tours priced?

All prices are listed on a per person basis. Rates are determined by accommodation occupancy.

Double/Twin - 2 people sharing a room with 1 or 2 beds

Single - 1 person in a private room

Triple/Quad - 3 or 4 people sharing a room with 2 beds

For tours involving travel on board a cruise ship, rates will also be determined by cabin grade. What is included?

Unless otherwise specified, tour prices will include: transportation as listed on itinerary (other than air), lodging as listed on itinerary, luggage handling for 1 suitcase per person (where available), tickets/admissions to attractions listed as included, gratuities for local guides, meals listed as included on itinerary, and guidance of a professional tour manager.

If my tour requires air travel, what are my options?

Group Air Package - On tours where air transportation is required, an option to travel as part of the group on prearranged flights is available. The available "package" includes both air transportation and multiple convenient departure location options. "Group Air Package" prices specific to your departure location can be found within each tour's documentation.

Travel Customization/Deviations - Occasionally, travelers find it beneficial to make special travel deviations. Our advisors can assist you with these itinerary changes, but please keep in mind that there will be fees associated with this service.

What is Travel Protection?

Travel protection is optional, but highly recommended. It is an additional cost to your tour and should be purchased at the time the initial tour deposit is made. For details on coverage and the process, feel free to reach out to your local advisor with any questions.

What size luggage can I bring?

Unless otherwise specified, luggage handling for 1 suitcase per person with maximum combined dimensions (length, width, height) of less than 62 inches and weighing less than 50 pounds is included during the land portion of a tour. Travelers may also bring a small carry-on, no more than 39 inches combined dimensions.

We are not responsible for everyday wear, scratches, etc. on luggage and are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Luggage restrictions on tours involving air and/or cruise travel may vary slightly, so please check with your agent on details.
