SPECTRA Baby Stroller

SPECTRA is a compact & multi-functional baby stroller concept, designed to provide comfort, functionality and coveniency at the same time. It is a compact 3 in 1 design which consists of a baby pod, functions of a grocery cart and a baby chair.

SPECTRA take on a futuristic design on the outside and a modern elegance design on the inside. The exterior finishes with gloss white and grey, with a hint of Cyan adding in as the futuristic touch to the SPECTRA.

The size of the SPECTRA references from the existing grocery cart which is 105 cm in height from ground to handle, and 57 cm in width.

SPECTRA is suitable to be used for new born babies until the age of 3.

Interior

The interior of the pod was inspired by Mercedes-Benz. Hence, the SPECTRA take on a modern elegance design for the interior.

01. 45 degree reclinable leather seat with adjustable head support.

02. Auto dimming polarized glass for outdoor usage.

03. Fully removable fabric padded seats with button release seatbelts to ensure children safety.

04. Mood changing LED lightings with Harmon Kardon surround sound system keeping children entertained at all times.

05. Retractable stainless steel dining platform with expandable leg room suitable for 3 years old infant.

Microsoft Surface Book Pro

The Microsoft Surface Book Pro is a concept for the new generation Microsoft Surface Book. It’s an upgraded version with improvement made specifically for professional use.

The design keeps up with the current version. A matte grey aluminium body with white backlit keyboard, with a mirror-like Microsoft logo. A signature Microsoft Surface line-up, simple & minimal design.

It features a full aluminium body in a matte grey finish. A thin bezel display with a notch housing the front facing camera and sensors.

The Microsoft Surface Book Pro features 3 USB ports, 2 Thunderbolt type-C ports and a aux port.

Samsung Holographic Rostrum

The Samsung Holographic Rostrum is a concept which aims to portray the image of Samsung, a well-known tech company and represents the brand in the eye of the public.

The design was based on the Samsung Galaxy S10. It was meant to be different with unique features.

The combination of a glossy Pearl White oval shaped display. a Grey brushed metal base, along with blue tinted polish metal details gives the rostrum a unique look but still noticeable as a Samsung product.

Electrolux BREEZ Smart Air Puriﬁer

BREEZ is a smart air purifier designed to provide cleaner indoor air for workers who spent long hours working in the office. With BREEZ, people will always have good quality indoor air to breath in.

BREEZ takes on a modern yet simple design. Its matte black cylindrical body paired with a gloss black top surface and a blue LED light ring gives it a certain contrast, yet subtle in any environment.

BREEZ features a 4 plus 1 filtration system which guarantees better purification. BREEZ comes with a portable version, BREEZ mini for users to bring along to work or outdoors ensuring air around them were purified.

User can remotely turn BREEZ on using the BREEZ mobile application, allowing it to purifies the area without being there to turn it on.

BREEZ features a 4 in 1 filtration system consists of 4 different filters which are 2 HEPA filters, an odour filter and a carbon filter. An additional water filtration to trap dust extending the lifespan of the filters.

DAHLIA Bollard Light

The DAHLIA is heavily inspired and named after the stunning Cactus Dahlia plant.

The DAHLIA is a decorative bollard light designed to be placed in parks & gardens based on the field research at Gasing Hill. It is designed to fit and stand out in any environment.

The DAHLIA was built primarily to provide lightsource for the park users and ensure their safety. Secondary objective is to retain the natural wilderness of the park without harming the wildlife and destroying the environment.

The design of DAHLIA is a fusion between modern and nature. The DAHLIA was inspired by the Cactus Dahlia plant pointy and curvy petals, which form its shape. Simplifications were done to make it simple and modern. Material used and the way it functions defines the DAHLIA as a modern lighting fixture.

03. Wildlife friendly lights to avoid harming the wildlife & the natural environment.

04. Fully sealed design with multiple rubber gaskets providing protection to internal parts from water & corrosion.

KOTAK BOX Modular Storage Unit

KOTAK box is a multi-purpose wooden frame which comes with several accessories to turn them into shelves and storage units by combining a few of them together.

Children at the age of 4 - 6 is the time which discipline should be taught to them such as keeping their toys after playing or placing the books back on the bookshelves after reading.

KOTAK box is primarily designed as an organiser storage unit for day care centres and kindergarten.

A KOTAK box is also a ideal stool for children at the age of 6 & 7.

Waiting Area

This waiting area was a redesigned space at the second floor of our campus, Asia Pacific Institute of Information & Technology, APIIT.

A less distracting and simple space was what the students wanted according to the data collected through focus groups conduction. We decided a modern minimal theme will fulfil the criteria of students and also giving the space a timeless design.

Colour scheme used were shades of Grey with Teal and Beige as the accent colours.

This waiting area were separated into 2 divisions for different purposes and usage.

Walkway placement for both divisions were equally width and linearly placed to form a continuation between both spaces.

Both divisions were a combination of originally 2 rooms to provide a more spacious area for students. Sliding doors were equipped for both divisions for space-saving and convenience.

Each division were equipped with a television showing the bus schedule. A few potted plants were placed in each room to bring some liveliness.

2 vending machines were placed outside both divisions for students to get some snacks refreshments.

Working Division

Working division is a space where students can do their work while waiting.

Long pendant lights were used throughout the working division to provide directional lighting for students while working. 8 working desks with individual retractable dividers were provided as per mentioned in the focus group for privacy.

A break area with 2 armchairs and a coffee table alongside with a water dispenser provides a place for students to take a short break if necessary.

6 artist tables were placed together making into a big meeting area for students to do groupworks. Hence, individually acting as an artist table for students to work with big sketches.

Casual Working Division

Casual working division is a cafe-like space providing students an area to relax and do some casual work.

2 counter height L shape tables were placed at both ends of the room with decent amount of counter height chairs, providing students spaces to do light work with their laptops.

2 cafe tables were included to have varieties of seats for students to choose from. Moreover, a 2+1+1 sofa set with a coffee table were provided as well for students to rest and relax or do some reading, creating an environment for multiple usage while waiting.

2 charging stations were placed along the walkway for students to charge up their devices before leaving for classes.

This space uses warm ambient lightings to give the area a more chill and relax vibe. Pendant lights were used on top of the counter tables and cafe tables for the needs of directional lighting while working.

This kitchen layout was based on Paragon Heights, a 3-story terrace housing area. Every cabinet, appliances, switches and sockets placement and spacing were according to the standard kitchen dimensions and human interactions to fulfil basic kitchen ergonomics standard.

The theme of the kitchen was chosen to be modern, paring with a beige tone colour scheme, creating warm and cosy ambient.

Questionnaires and interview were conducted with residents of Paragon Heights to collect data about their ideal kitchen types. The design was entirely based on collected data.

The kitchen was split into 2 sections, both wet and dry. Both kitchens were designed for different usage.

All cabinets used are acrylic handle-less design with soft closing feature to give a neat and seamless look.

Dry Kitchen

Dry kitchen uses a modern open kitchen concept with a L-shape peninsula layout. The peninsula acts as a breakfast table and countertop space for food preparation. 3 pendant lights were placed on top of the peninsula acting as a visual divider between the kitchen and the dining area.

A dark grey slate wall provides a contrast to the overall bright coloured kitchen with its colour and rough natural texture. Moreover. Eubiq plug were placed under the top cabinet for extra appliances.

On the left side of the kitchen, A custom built cabinet provides plenty of storage space with a pull-out tall cabinet with trays for easy access items. The microwave and the refrigerator were placed at the area as well.

A patterned wooden sliding barn door acting as the entrance to the wet kitchen is also an art piece in the kitchen.

Wet Kitchen

Wet kitchen was extended from the original layout making it bigger to suit the ergonomic criteria.

A U-shape layout was used in the wet kitchen with a white quartz countertop. The transition from right to left is clear. A 2-door refrigerator is placed right next to the entrance with countertop space on its side.

A sink faces the wall provides convenience of accessibility from both sides. The windows on top were equipped with blinds for privacy purpose.

A pull-out food waste and trash bin were tucked into the cabinets providing a clean look.

The hob equipped is a 3-burner hob with a built-in hood. The oven was placed next to the hob for the heat to escape through the same hood.
