THE PLAYERS

MATT ENSLEY (Frederick Frankenstein) is eternally grateful to have the privilege to return to the stage in this show with friends both old and new. Mel Brooks has been an essential influence on his performance, character, and education as long as he can remember. He would like to thank his family, friends, and director/mentor Andy for the unwavering support through the years and hopes you enjoy seeing this comedic classic resurrected and brought to Life, Life.

TOM OLLIS (The Creature) is excited for his first opportunity to perform on the Lee St. Theatre Stage. A veteran of both stage and screen, Tom has been acting in and around the Metrolina area for over thirty years. Some of Tom’s favorite roles include Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd) at RHT, White (Sunset Limited) with 3M Productions, Cap’n Andy (Showboat) at CPCC, and Sir John Falstaff (Henry IV, Pt. 1) with the Abbey Players. Tom’s current life goals are working to live in and appreciate the moment, listening intently, and accepting that the world is filled with magic and wonder.

EMILY KLINGMAN (Igor) is so glad to be having her Lee Street debut as Igor. She is very grateful for the opportunity to take this journey with the cast. When offstage, she works as a theatre teacher for Mooresville Graded. Thank you for coming out to support the show, and enjoy!

NICOLE CASTRO (Inga) is excited to perform with Lee Street Theatre for the first time! She is a graduate of The University of West Florida with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Previous roles include Grace Farrell in Annie (Little Theater of Gastonia), Miss Honey in Matilda (Levine JCC) and Ensign Nellie Forbush in South Pacific (Dilworth Players). She would like to thank her Mom and Aunt Desiree for all of their love and support! She dedicates this performance to Diane.

CHRISTIE WOLFE (Elizabeth Benning) is excited once again to return to the Lee Street stage. Ever (Mother), Boeing Boeing (Gloria Hawkins), Warehouse PACMuch Ado About Nothing (Beatrice), and CPCC- Bridges of Madison County (Marian). In her non theatre life, Christie spends her free time torturing her husband and pets with improv song and dance numbers. Christie would like to give a big thank you to the cast and crew for all the amazing effort put into this show!

ALYCE SMINKEY (Frau Blucher) Alyce is super excited to be performing in Young Frankenstein as Frau Blucher, having grown up watching the film version many times over. This is her second production with Lee Street Theater having recently performed the role of Janet Mackenzie in Witness for the Prosecution in March. Alyce has been seen in numerous productions at Davidson Community Players and before that in regional/ community shows on Long Island, NY as well as some Off-Broadway and showcase credits in New York City. Always first thanks to God for the gift; thanks to Tom her husband for the constant guidance and support; and thanks to Mel Brooks and the original movie cast for the years of laughter. A HUGE shout out to her son Shane who is starting his freshman year at UNC School of the Arts as a vocal performance major. So very proud of you and go Pickles!

JACOB BRAYTON (Inspector Kemp/Dr. Victor Frankenstein) is thrilled to be making his return to the Lee Street stage as Inspector Kemp. You may recognize him from such productions as: Lend Me A Tenor, Ima Vep, Boeing! Boeing!, and the Abridged series.

CHRIS ELLER (The Hermit) A resident of Salisbury, NC, Chris has directed, stage managed, and performed in many shows in area community theatres. Recently, he appeared as Inspector Hearne in Lee Street Theatre’s production of “Witness for the Prosecution,” as Officer Klein in Old Courthouse Theatre’s production of “Arsenic and Old Lace,” in Concord, NC, and as Glenn Cooper in Matt Merrill Productions production of “Rumors” in Davison, NC. Chris is so excited to be performing with such a fun and talented group, and hopes you’ll enjoy the show.

ANDREW MONROE (Basha/Ensemble) is glad to be of use at Lee Street Theatre once again as a resident “Guy Who Can Do Things”. You may have seen Andrew previously as “Guy Who Can Do Things” in “Witness for the Prosecution”, “Legally Blonde”, “Hot Wing King”, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, and “Jekyll and Hyde”. Thank you very much and enjoy the show!

BETH BENTLEY (Sasha/Ensemble) Beth has enjoyed volunteering at Lee St Theatre for many many years, on and off the stage, and currently sits as a member of the LST Board. A few of her previous roles at Lee Street have been: Dr Wyatt in Witness for the Prosecution, Veta Simmons in Harvey, Mrs Gloop in Willy Wonka Jr, Mrs White in Clue, and Myra Bruhl in Deathtrap. She wishes to thank her husband Roy for believing in her, her children for embracing her, and her mother for sharing her gift. She wishes to dedicate her performance to her father, who passed this year. While he didn’t always understand why she does it, he always showed up.

JAYDA BROOKS (Masha/Ensemble) Jayda Brooks is absolutely electrificed to be making her community theatre debut in Young Frankenstein! After years of singing, dancing, and over-the-top emotion on her high school stage, she’s thrilled to finally bring her dramatic flair to the Lee Street stage. Her favorite past roles include the fabulously feathered Mayzie La Bird (Seussical, the Musical), the intensely competitive Marcy Parks (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), the ever-classy Meg March (Little Women), and the holy-roller herself, Sister Mary Hubert (Nunsense). She sends her monstrously big love to Rass for breathing life into her theatrical dreams, and to the Brooks, Smith, and Harmon families for being her biggest fans since she first caught the theatre bug as a wide-eyed freshman. Now, buckle up, grab your torches, and enjoy the mayhem!

COLIN FISH (Telegraph Boy/Ensemble) Colin Fish is so excited to be part of this amazing cast in Young Frankenstein. He has done theater since middle school and has been in several amazing productions. His favorite roles include Frederick Treves (The Elephant Man), General Schmitz (Seussical), and Professor Bhaer (Little Women). RAVEN MONROE (Masha/Ensemble) is an actor and playwright from Charlotte, NC. She is happy to be back at Lee Street Theatre! Raven is a graduate of UNC Charlotte (BA 2016) and New York University (MFA 2019). She has performed in shows such as Godspell and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Matthews Playhouse), and most recently, Disenchanted at Lee Street Theatre. When she isn’t performing, she teaches theater and performing arts at both UNC Charlotte and at Lanti Performing Arts in Indian Trail.

KIERA WHITTEMORE (Tasha/Ensemble) is a graduate of the BFA Musical Theatre program at Catawba College! Some of her performance roles include Patsy Cline in Always…Patsy Cline, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Emma Borden in Lizzie Borden Took an Axe, Jan in Grease, and a featured soloist in Side by Side by Sondheim. She has (so far) directed two educational theatre shows, The Lion King Jr and Seussical Jr; and is excited to be directing at Lee Street this year! She is currently studying at Winthrop University to receive her Masters degree in Arts Administration. MASON LIVERS (Shoeshine Boy/Dracula/Bob/Ensemble) is so ecstatic to be a part of this production! A Performing Arts Teacher, hailing from Charlotte, NC, Mason has been seen in many Lee Street Theatre productions such as Legally Blonde: The Musical (Kyle/Dewey/ Grandmaster Chad), Blood Done Signed My Name (Eddie McCoy/ Boo Chavis), Harvey (Wilson), The Play That Goes Wrong (Trevor) and Wait Until Dark (Mike). A graduate from Catawba College, with a degree in Theatre Education and minor in Creative Writing, he has also been seen in Catawba Productions such as All The Great Books, Abridged (Coach), Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead (Matt) and Anything Goes (Sailor Captain u/s). Mason wants to thank his fiancée, Kiera, his dad, Leslie, his aunt, Michelle and all his friends for their continuous support and hopes that you enjoy this show! Instagram: mase_livers02

BEHIND THE SCENES

ROD ODEN (Executive Artistic Director/Director/Designer) Whether for the audiences on a professional stage or instructing at educational institutions and professional workshops, Rod Oden is proud to have over 25 years experience directing and designing in a variety of venues, genres and audiences. Rod has directed on stages from Los Angeles to New Orleans, and in virtually every type ofvenue. He enjoys working alongside community members, volunteers and students to help grow and create professional experiences in the theatre. Recent credits include In the Heights, Lombardi, Jekyll and Hyde the Musical, Legally Blonde the Musical, Tick, Tick, Boom!, Wit, The Play That Goes Wrong (NC Premiere), CLUE, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, and How I learned to Drive. He has worked with countless community theaters, educational organizations and professional troupes to produce quality, high-end productions audiences have enjoyed watching. Rod is blessed and thankful for his beautiful wife Raquel and his four precious boys Tristan, Lucas, Jamie and Sylar. He also enjoys spending time with his two lovely daughters Ariel and Isabelle.

MATTHEW PRIMM (Music Director) is a frequent music director at various theaters in the greater Charlotte region, and is thrilled to be making his Lee Street Theatre debut with Young Frankenstein! A passionate educator and advocate for music education, he is the orchestra director at Northwest School of the Arts and is a teaching artist at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. He plays violin and viola with the Charlotte Strings Collective. Matt holds degrees in music from UNC Charlotte and the Hartt School in Connecticut. He would like to thank Rod and the fantastic cast and crew for their hard work on this show!

RACHEL PETERSON (Choreographer) is very excited to make her choreographic debut with Lee Street Theater. After obtaining her B.A. in Dance, she went on to professional work as a dancer and singer with Carowinds and Sigmon Theatrical. Previous choreographic work includes: HEAD OVER HEELS with Davidson Community Players, CABARET with Old Courthouse Theater, BRIGHT STAR with Matthews Playhouse, HADESTOWN with CSD, HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME with Legacy Theater & Music Co., and CINDERELLA and SOUTH PACIFIC with The Dilworth Players. Upcoming, you can see her work in NEWSIES with Camp JuMP. She cannot wait to meet everyone and looks forward to a very exciting season.

GRAYCEN MURRAY (Stage Manager) is so excited to be working on her first Lee Street show as a Stage Manager! Graycen is thrilled for the opportunity to work with this cast, crew, and dedicated team throughout this process. She’d like to thank her family and friends for their support during the show, and hopes that you can enjoy it just as much as she has.

KENZIE CLONGINGER (Assistant Stage Manager/Board Operator) is so excited to be working on her first Lee Street show as a Stage Manager!
