MEET THE CAST
ANASTASIA ALDRIDGE (Abram/Nurse/Monk Larry) Anastasia enjoys anime and hanging out with friends. This is her seventh show, and she is really happy to do it. She loves theatre and look forward to doing more shows! PETER BENTLEY (Prologue/Lord Monotone/Paris) Peter Bentley is a freshman at Graystone Day School. He is the oldest of three, and lives in Salisbury. His interests include historic weaponry and their construction, comics, soccer and film. Peter has produced and directed several amateur films, including a scene from the novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding. His passion on that project sparked his interest in learning about acting. He wants to thank Lee Street for this chance to expand his knowledge and experience. The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet is his first stage production, and hopefully not his last. JORDAN ROBY (Narrator 2/Lady Monotone) is 9 years old and just recently discovered a love of acting. She is very excited to be back on the stage for her 4th production at Lee Street. Her first role was an Oompa Loompa in “Willy Wonka, Jr.” last fall, followed “A Christmas Carol” and “Sense and Sensibility.” She also performed with NC Transportation Museum’s “Polar Express.” Jordan loves performing and singing. She is also learning to play ukulele and piano. Her dream is to be a singer/songwriter and actress. CALLIE CAPE (Gregory/The Prince/Servant) is 11 years old. She found her passion for theatre while attending the Norvell Theatre summer camps in 2018. Callie has since enjoyed participating in several productions at Norvell Theatre as well as Willy Wonka Jr at Lee Street Theatre. She also enjoys crafting, cooking and spending time with her pets. Callie would like to thank Rod Oden for allowing her to enjoy this valuable experience. LUCY BLACK (Lady Capitulate) is excited to return to the Lee Street theatre stage as Lady Capitulate. You may recognize her as the creepiest Oompa Loompa from last summer’s production of Willy Wonka. Lucy has been singing, dancing, and acting her entire life. She has been in more than ten productions at The Norvell Theater, including her recent role as Olaf in Frozen. She is entering her fourth season as a performer on The N.C. Transportations Museum’s THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. Her favorite part of youth theater is working with children, as she one day hopes to be a performing arts teacher. When she isn’t onstage, Lucy is a rising sophomore at Carson High School where she plays tennis. She also enjoys extreme sports such as whitewater kayaking, snowboarding and being a big sister.
CARA HAYES (Juliet) is thrilled to return to the Lee Street stage as Juliet and to be a part of this amazing cast. Cara has appeared in productions at Lee Street Theatre, Piedmont Players, Lexington Youth Theatre, and High Point Community Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Veruca in “Willy Wonka Jr”, Annie in “Annie”, and Junie B Jones in “Junie B Jones is Not a Crook”. Cara would like to thank everyone at Lee Street for such an amazing experience. JAKOB WAGNER (Romeo) is thrilled to make another appearance at the Lee St Theatre in the role of Romeo. Jakob previously with Lee St in the Fall of 2021 as Mike TeeVee in Willy Wonka. He just wrapped in 3 roles of Once on this Island - the 1st musical at AL Brown High School since 2018, where he is a rising junior. He has also made multiple appearances at the Norvell Theater with the latest being Prince Hans in Frozen. He was Troy Bolton at Concord SMACK’s rendition of High School Musical in the summer of 2021. In his spare time, Jakob enjoys watching all his favorite movies. Jakob would like to thank his family; friends; his high school theater, Jordan Correll; his acting coach, Emily Angelou; and his agency, Known Management Group for assisting him with his acting aspirations. LUCAS ODEN (Balthasar/Benvolio) is very excited to be sharing the stage at Lee Street Theatre with such a talented bunch! You most recently saw him as an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka Jr. Some of his favorite roles include the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz at Overton Elementary School, The Know It All Boy for The Polar Express at the North Carolina Transportation Museum, Rico in the Norvell’s production of Madagascar, and Tiny Tim in Scrooge’s Christmas Trolley Tour. He also recently worked stage crew for the production of Harvey. Lucas would like to thank his wonderful directors for all of their support during this process! LUKE BARDINAS (Mercutio) is overjoyed to be preforming once again at Lee Street Theatre with many of familier faces. This will be his eleventh show, some of his more recent shows being “Frozen Jr.”, “Willy Wonka Jr.”, and “Madagascar Jr.” Some other hobbies of Luke’s besides acting include singing, dancing, and playing the piano. OLIVIA BENTLEY (Samson/Tybalt) is homeschooled, and lives in Salisbury with her family. She is the youngest of three, and will be sharing the Seuss stage with her older brother, Peter. Olivia is an avid reader who started, like most children, with a love of Dr Seuss. While her experience on stage is limited, she has been around theatre her entire life. Prior to Seuss, she was in the Norvell Production of Frozen Jr. She is very excited and thankful for this opportunity to learn and grow with the professional theatre environment Lee Street offers.
AIDAN MELTON (Lord Capitulate) is excited to be back on stage at Lee Street Theater. Aidan has performed in several shows at Lee Street Theater including Our Town, A Christmas Carol and one of his all time favorite roles was Augustus Gloop in Willy Wonka Jr. Aidan has appeared in several productions for PPT a few of his favorites were Ragtime as the Little Boy, Madagascar as Melman the Giraffe, Annie as Cordell Hull and Ensemble. When Aidan is not on stage performing he loves swimming, kayaking, video games and spending time with his family. Aidan is really excited about working with this amazing cast and all of his friends. A special thank you to Rod Oden , Abby Skibsted, Mollie Wasserman. and the board of Lee Street Theater for this fun opportunity. JAMES ODEN (Narrator 1) is beyond thrilled to be sharing the stage at Lee Street Theatre with all of these wonderful whos! You most recently saw him as an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka Jr. Some of his favorite roles include The Know It All Boy/Hero Boy for The Polar Express at the North Carolina Transportation Museum, King Julian in the Norvell’s production of Madagascar, and John in Fun Home at Lee Street Theatre. James would like to thank his wonderful directors for all of their support during this process! He hopes you all enjoy the show, and remember “ A person’s a person, no matter how small” -Dr. Seuss ABBY SKIBSTED (Director) is a recent Catawba College grad. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and a Minor in Special Subjects K-12 Education. She has loved working with these kiddos and hopes to continue working and directing. She has directed an excerpt from the play Sweat by Lynn Notage which was part of Catawba College’s A Night of Scenes and Dance. As well as some small one acts in high school. She wants to thank Lee Street and Rod for the opportunity, Mollie for being an amazing partner through this process and a wonderful friend! She hopes that you enjoy the show! MOLLIE JEAN WASSERMAN (Director) is a recent Catawba College graduate with a BFA in Theatre Performance and a focus in Directing. Mollie first discovered a love of directing during her time at Northwest School of the Arts where she directed The Smell of The Kill and an original play. Since then she has directed Art by Yasmina Reza, Andre’s Mother, an excerpt from Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and an excerpt from The Dinner Party (which was shown as part of Catawba College’s Evening of 10 Minute Scenes). In her time at Catawba, she also Assistant Directed Even From a Great Distance, a tribute to Terrence McNally. Mollie would like to thank Lee Street for this opportunity, Abby for being her partner in crime on this project, the families of the kiddos for sharing their time, and these incredible young actors for bringing their energy and unique talents to this production! Lastly, Mollie would like to send her love and gratitude to her father and her boyfriend for their endless support.
