JESSICA JAX (Annie Wilkes) is completely honored and extremely grateful to get to portray the ultimate fangirl, Annie Wilkes. It’s not every day one gets to sink their teeth into an iconic role and Jessica is so incredibly thankful for Ryan, Eric, Kieran, and Jordan for making this show a rewarding experience. Instead of listing out previous roles, here are the character inspirations for Annie: Kathy Bates herself, Grace Chasity (Nerdy Prudes Must Die), Rumi Hidaka (Perfect Blue), and the crazed fangirls, otaku, and stans all over the world. Instead of break a leg, let’s break some ankles!
ERIC SEALE (Paul Sheldon) is in his fifth season as Artistic Director at Hickory Community Theatre. Recent acting credits include Vlad in ANASTASIA (HCT), Cyrano in CYRANO DE BERGERAC (OCP) and Sonny Barbosa in FARCE OF NATURE (Pioneer Playhouse). Following MISERY Eric will be directing THE 39 STEPS for Lee Street and then appearing as Richard Burbage in THE BOOK OF WILL at HCT.
KIERAN MOURITSEN (Buster) is a librarian making his debut at Lee Street as Buster, supporting these two amazingly talented actors! Kieran recently performed in PPT’s The Music Man, and hopes to continue his theatre journey! Kieran, and Buster welcome you to Silver Creek, Colorado--but steer clear of the Wilkes Farm! It’s best you not know why...
RYAN MILES (Director) is an actor, director, and fitness instructor who hails from Charlotte NC. He is an up and coming director known for his work at Lee Street through his many performances, such as Renfield in “Dracula”, and recently Victor Fleming in “Moonlight and Magnolias” as well as directed and performed in “Our Town” and “Wait Until Dark, awarded the 2022 Charlotte QC Nerve’s”Best in the Nest - Critic’s Pick.” He thanks his Family for their amazing support and for the wonderful opportunities Lee Street Theatre has provided.
JORDAN SPEARS (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be stage managing Misery at Lee Street Theatre! This marks their first production with Lee Street, and they couldn’t be more excited to bring this suspenseful story to life. A longtime fan of Stephen King, Jordan is eager for audiences to experience the tension and thrills of this stage adaptation. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Evan Moreno (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Junior at Catawba college and is returning to Lee Street theatre once again with this brilliant cast! He is always grateful to the team at Lee Street for providing the opportunities for him and other college students to work in a working theatre! Enjoy the show!
ERIN B. DOUGHERTY (Costume Designer) is the Costume Design Professor and Chair of Theatre Arts at Catawba College, where she designs regularly or supervises student designers. She has also worked professionally for several regional companies including Glimmerglass Opera Company and Trollwood Performing Arts School. She is delighted to return to Lee Street as Costume Designer. Designs at Lee Street include Blithe Spirit, the original Scrooge Trolley, Reefer Madness, and RENT. Other production designs include costumes for Spring’s Awakening (Catawba), The Foreigner (Theatre Charlotte), Merchant of Venice/Twelfth Night/Othello (Collaborative Arts), and Death of a Salesman (Tribhuvan University, Nepal). While she considers herself a relative theatre generalist, she has a love for costume crafts, cosplay, and millinery.
