MEET THE TEAM

MICHAEL BROOKS (Jesus) Alas! Michael is excited to be in his first LST production. Thanks to Joey, Rod, and Drina for the opportunity to be part of this awesome show. A huge thank you to the cast and production team for their support and patience. And to those in the audience-thank you for coming and let us all work together to “build a beautiful city.”

HAYDEN WAUGH (John the Baptists/Judas) is beyond excited to help bring the Gospel to life in this amazing show alongside this crazy talented cast. Some of his favorite past roles include Warner Huntington III in “Legally Blonde: The Musical” and Leaf Coneybear in the “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” He hopes you walk away from this show with the same joy it brings him, and would like to give all thanks and glory to Jesus. Long live God!

SHARON FOSTER was born and raised in Landis, North Carolina and currently resides in Kannapolis. She loves singing and performing because ultimately it brings joy to others. “Legally Blonde” is Sharon’s third production with Davidson Community Players and she feels immensely blessed to be a part of this wonderfully talented cast! Some of Sharon’s performance history includes the roles of Truvy (Steel Magnolias, 2018) Mrs. Bucket (Willy Wonka Jr, 2021) and Badass Betty (The Great American Trailer Park Musical, 2021) Her most recent triumph was for the role of Paulette (Legally Blonde, 2022) with Davidson Community Players, for which she was nominated Outstanding Supporting Actress by the Metrolina Theatre Association. Sharon would like to thank her friends and family for the love, support, and encouragement over the years to keep performing. Thank you all for showing up and for supporting your local community theatre! Sit back, relax and enjoy this amazing show!

ROBIN ROGERS Robin Rogers from Rockwell NC, member of Piedmont Players board and works at the Salisbury Police dept. (23 years) as Evidence Technician, has one daughter, one grandchild and two Fur-babies . She is a Veteran of the theater, having done many shows at PPT and a few here at Lee Street. Robin has appeared in close to 20 shows, but her favorite roles have been Madame Thenardier in Les Misérables at PPT with the Salisbury Symphony. Also appearing in Sister Act as “rapping nun “Sister Mary Lazarus and Grandma Addams in Addams family. Her latest show was in Savannah Sipping Society at PPT as the role of DOT… All shows have been truly total enjoyment. She did her first show at Lee St in the Dixie Swim Club as the role of Dina a lawyer who likes to drink a lot( can you say type casting?! lol ) and then reprised same role at PPT in Sweet Delilah Swim Club with same amazing cast. She also did the Reindeer

Monologues here at Lee St and played Dancer, which was a wild ride of a show!!! I first saw GODSPELL when I was in the 6 th grade at Catawba College and later my brother Played Judas in the show at East Rowan and after watching him, I knew I wanted to act. I am honored and extremely delighted to be in this performance with this amazing cast and crew!! Break a leg you wonderful talented people!!

XANDER BAUDER Xander is thrilled to be returning to Lee Street’s stage in such a fun, involved musical. Since graduating this spring, he has been chasing his dream of acting and singing on every stage possible; getting to work in a music video with Lee Isaacs, on TV shows like the Ms. Pat Show and A Friend of the Family, and in the Nickelodeon movie, Fantasy Football. Xander is auditioning with several colleges and is enjoying his gap year in the meantime. He is represented regionally by Evolution and globally by Manikin Models and Talent.

EVYNN ROSE GRIGNON is very excited to be apart of Godspell! She has been involved in all areas of theatre, from stage managing DRACULA to performing in OUR TOWN (Emily), SENSE & SENSIBILITY (Marianne), HARVEY (Myrtle Mae) and others here at LST and theatres in the surrounding areas. Outside of the arts, she is a college student at RCCC, works at Salisbury Academy, and creates fashion content for her social media pages (@fashionevynn). She wants to thank the amazing cast and crew for making her first musical so special!

TORI CARPENTER is an actress, singer, and K-12 Theatre Arts teacher currently residing in China Grove, NC. She has a BA in Drama from UNC Asheville and has performed with Lee Street Theatre, Piedmont Players Theatre, Carol Belk Theatre, and Carson Theatre. Some of her prior roles include Head Puppeteer in Little Shop of Horrors (Lee Street), Tilly in She Kills Monsters (UNC Asheville), Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (Piedmont Players), and Marmee in Little Women (Carson Theatre). She is very excited to upgrade from a plant to a human during her second show at Lee Street!

KEIRA WHITTEMORE is currently a senior BFA Musical Theatre Major at Catawba. She is so honored to be completing her CATALST internship here at Lee Street and having “Godspell” be a part of that. Some of her performance roles include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Kelly in The Mad Ones, Emma Borden in Lizzie Borden Took an Axe, Jan in Grease, and a featured soloist in Side by Side by Sondheim. SIMMON MORAY is excited to be part of the GODSPELL cast! She is a PA native who has been living in NC for 4 years. Her most recent appearance on the LST stage was as Lin in last season’s THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. Other previous roles include Susan (TITLE OF SHOW), Daisy Hilton, (SIDE SHOW), Tracy Turnblad (HAIRSPRAY), Doatsy Mae (BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE…), and Little Becky Two Shoes (URINETOWN). She has also directed productions of WEST SIDE STORY, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED…, and GREASE. While living in NYC, she completed an internship at Atlantic Theater Company, stage managed an Equity Showcase of an original musical, and served as Dramaturg for a start-up theatre company focused on developing new works by emerging playwrights. Big thanks to Joey and LST for this opportunity and the cast/crew for all their hard work! For Dad, who taught me, and Jane and Michael, who taught him.

RAQUEL ODEN has been involved in all facets of theater for over 25 years. Her first performance was in the Los Angeles Children’s Theater Peter Pan when she was only 5 years old. She was most recently seen in Lee Street Theatre’s production of And Then There Were None. Some of her favorite roles include Alison in Fun Home, Lucy in You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Ivy in August Osage County, and Miss Casewell in The Mousetrap. She would like to thank her husband, Rod, and children for supporting her theater passion.

JOEY MORAY (Director/Choreographer) has worked for over 25 years acting, directing, and teaching at many professional and community theaters along the east coast, including Signature Theatre, Virginia Musical Theatre, MidCity Productions, Genesius Theatre, Star of the Day Productions, First Street Players, The Green Room Community Theatre, Theatre Statesville, Lee Street Theatre, Piedmont Players and Hickory Community Theatre. Previously, he directed The Great American Trailer Park Musical last December at Lee Street. His favorite directing credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Bye Bye Birdie, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, and Proof. He was last seen on stage in Tick Tick… BOOM! (Michael) last month in the Lee Street LAB. Some of his favorite acting roles include Memphis (Huey Calhoun), Bright Star (Jimmy Ray), The Secret Garden (Archibald Craven), Rock of Ages (Lonny), Beauty and the Beast (Beast), Young Frankenstein (The Monster), and Side Show (Terry). He has a BFA in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory with minors in Voice and Piano. He dedicates this show to his mother, Teresa, who provided “all good gifts” to him throughout his life. He also sends all his love and wishes of many broken legs to his wife Simmon. @datsamoray

DRINA KEEN (Music Director) has worked with numerous choral and theatrical organizations including Lee Street Theatre, CPCC Opera Theatre, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, Old Courthouse Theatre, Theatre Charlotte, Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte,The Southampton Players/Long Island University, NY, and N.C. Opera-in-the-Schools. She has received Metrolina Theatre Association’s Outstanding Musical Direction awards for CPCC’s CATS, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, CRAZY FOR YOU, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, and CAMELOT, Drina received Charlotte Creative Loafing’s Best Conductor/Music Director’s awards for CPCC’s SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, and for Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s THE CHRISTMAS DOLL, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, and BEAUTY and the BEAST.

ARIEL STANSELL is a senior at Jesse C Carson High School. She has been doing theater since she was very little. She’s performed with her mother, Mary Stansell, and her father, Rod Oden. She has performed in Mary Poppins (Manistee, MI), Seussical (Manistee, MI), The Little Mermaid (Jesse C Carson High School), and Moana Jr (Lee Street Theatre). She has done tech work for Trip to Bountiful (Lee Street Theater), Death Trap (Lee Street Theater), Shakespeare Abridged (Lee Street Theater), Willy Wonka Jr (Lee Street Theater), Twas (Jesse C Carson High School), Little Shop of Horrors (Jesse C Carson High School), Dracula (Lee Street Theatre), and Godspell (Lee Street Theatre). Godspell is Ariel’s first time stage managing and she is very ecstatic to be a part of such an amazing show!

ZAC HUNTER (Sound Engineer/Master Carpenter) is excited to be working my first show as a sound engineer, I am usually found in the workshop at Lee st as the master carpenter. I’m a junior at Catawba studying for a BA in theater arts. Thanks to our director Joey Morray for his patience, Rod Oden for his guidance and to the cast for rocking the house every night.
