MEET THE CAST
VINCENT RAYE (Richard Roma) Relocating from Montana to the area in 2018, Vincent has worked with Children’s Theater of Charlotte as an actor and on crew. He was last seen as Jefferson Davis opposite of Ted Lange (of Love Boat fame) in his play Lady Patriot. Other recent roles: Garrett Breedlove, in Terms of Endearment at Theatre Charlotte and Man 2 in Midlife: The Crisis Musical at Little Theater of Gastonia, where he also directed Same Time, Next Year. Favorite projects include: Denny in A Steady Rain; Boolie in Driving Miss Daisy; Nick in The Guys; and the one-man-show St. Nicholas. In 2020 he shot the short film, Righteous and has worked with Blackstar Theater in Belmont. SETH LABOVITZ (Shelley Levene) Since arriving in Salisbury in 1992, having driven his tan K car from his native Ohio, Seth has enjoyed the local theater scene, from both sides of the stage. He is thrilled to be back on the Lee Street Theatre stage for Glengarry Glen Ross and wants to thank all those involved in this production. It’s been a privilege, not to mention a real kick. As an aside, he would like to keep the nickname “The Machine” subsequent to the run of the show; his favorite nickname since he was “Mad dog” for a time in graduate school. Lastly, a big thank you to his loving wife, Diane, who gave him “a shot!” ED WHITNEY (Dave Moss) is ecstatic to be back for his fourth appearance at Lee street. Between hiking and enjoying the great outdoors and reveling in good company with friends, acting and theatre have always held a special place with him. Lee street theatre has always fostered a creative and encouraging environment to play and explore. Enjoy! BILL GREENE (George Aaronow) returns to the local stage after way too many years. He has acted in over 27 shows over the years and has appeared locally in The Graduate, Sweet Bird of Youth and The Three Musketeers. He was a founding member of the local improv group, Now are the Foxes and has written several 10 minute plays for Lee Street Theatre. He most recently helped write and served as a director for the recent 24-Hour Theater Festival at Lee Street. Bill is a former Lee Street board member and remembers fondly when actors worked for 6 packs of PBR. In his reality life he is a local real estate developer and a bank regulator for a local purple bank. He has been happily married for 30 years to Cora and has two sons who are out in the world doing much more productive things than me.
BRIAN RASSLER (John Williamson) has been involved in community theatre for over 40 years as an actor, set designer/ builder, and recently as a director. He was last seen at Lee Street as the Giant in Big Fish. He has been very involved with the Old Courthouse Theatre in Concord along with his wife, Andy. He started dating Andy while they were involved in My Fair Lady over 30 years ago. Some favorite shows have been Harvey, Fox on the Fairway, The Odd Couple, and The Foreigner, to name a few. Brian lives in Concord with his wife and two children. MATT SMITH (James Lingk) is excited to be making his debut at Lee St Theatre. You may have seen him onstage at Old Courthouse Theatre’s recent productions of Godspell as Herb and Nana Does Vegas as Tom. Matt also serves as the Board of Directors President for Old Courthouse Theatre and resides in Concord with his beautiful wife, Herchelle, and their 3 dogs Max, Lilly, and Shelby. He would like to thank the director, Stuart Jonap, the cast and crew for making this such a great experience. JOHN C. MARTIN (Blake) grew up on Long Island, NY. John, an accomplished fine artist, opted out of his art studies at The Cooper Union School of Art in Manhattan to pursue a music career. John went on to sing for several Rock bands in the 80’s and 90’s Nashville scene before ultimately finding a home in Charlotte, NC where he shifted his focus on Real Estate. After enjoying a successful career in that field, John made the decision to get back to his true passion, performing. He began work in film in 2015 and is currently honing his craft under the advanced tutelage of Burgess Jenkins at the Actor’s Group in Winston-Salem, NC. John has appeared on television, in commercials and in several independent film projects. He was most recently honored with the Best Actor in a Lead Award at the 2021 Knoxville Film Festival (the second consecutive year receiving this honor). John C Martin signed with KSA Talent Agency, Atl/LA in 2019. He has studied the methods of Stanislavski, Adler, Meisner, Strasberg and Caine while having personally received extensive training from Burgess Jenkins, James Freetly, Linda Ann Watt, Dawn Rickus and elite Los Angeles acting coach, Crystal Carson. In addition to acting, John enjoys spending time with his family, riding his Ducati, martial arts competition, weight training, painting, reading and boating. GENE MELCHOIR (Detective Baylen) recently moved to the area and is excited to be part of the Lee Street Theater. Now that he is retired, he has time to get back to the theater. Sure beats working.
STUART JONAP (Director) Stuart has been involved in both professional and community theatre for over 30 years. Starting in Tampa, FL, Stuart’s theatre career has blended acting, directing and producing in over 100 plays and shows. As an actor’s director, he works with his actors to achieve believable and honest characterizations. His personal philosophy is that the audience has paid to spend their time in our theatre and we want them to leave having been thoroughly entertained and fully engaged. He has won multiple acting awards and been nominated for Best Director for his direction of Over the River and Through the Woods. Stuart lives in Davidson with his wife Lesi.
