he Republican vote for Aquia district supervisor went to Cindy Charlene Shelton during the primary election June 13. Shelton took the district with 826 votes, or 52.91 percent, to Jason M. Pelt’s 735 ballots, or 47.09 percent. Shelton, is retired from the U.S. Air Force and a self-described activist. Thomas wins 28th District primary TRACY BELL

Republican primary held Tuesday pitted two current members of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors and a former board member against one another. Each wanted to represent the 28th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. Late in the evening, Bob Thomas came out on top. Thomas walked away with 3,050 votes or 49.21 percent of the total vote; Milde had 2,065 votes (33.32 percent) and Stimpson had 1,083 votes (17.47 percent), according to preliminary results reported by the Virginia Department of Elections. Thomas posted on his campaign Facebook page: “What an amazing

journey!!! I am so thankful for the support of my wife and children, Bill and Cessie Howell, our amazing staff, our financial supporters and our volunteers who dedicated many hours of precious time. #OnToNovember.” Votes came from 23 precincts, with Thomas winning the four Fredericksburg City precincts and in Stafford, winning 10 of the 19 precincts, along with absentee votes.

Milde won the remaining precincts in Stafford, with the exception of England Run, in which each of the three candidates garSUSAN nered 26 votes. STIMPSON Thomas, RGeorge Washington, is a current supervisor; Milde, R-Aquia, is a supervisor and chairman of the board of supervisors; and Stimpson is a former board member who represented the Falmouth District.
