The watercolor drawings were basic and design specifics few, but local residents on Feb. 16 were afforded the opportunity to examine preliminary plans by McLean Properties to build a “Main Street” mixed-use development in downtown McLean. “Our aspiration is to have a great shopping street with people living and working above,” said architect W. Kenneth Wiseman, a design principal at CannonDesign. “We want this development to reach out beyond its confines and be a catalyst for improvement of the community,” he added.
