Great Falls residents soon will have the chance to examine and comment upon a partnership’s plans to build a 62-unit assisted-living and memorycare facility at 1131 Walker Road. Reston-based real-estate-advisory and investment company Verity Commercial and assisted-living provider IntegraCare of Wexford, Pa., are seeking a special exception from the Fairfax County government to provide 42 assisted-living units on the proposed facility’s ground and second levels, along with 20 memory-care units on its lower level. The Great Falls Citizens Association’s Land-Use and Zoning Committee will hold an informational meeting about the proposal on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Great Falls Library. According to the partnership’s leaders, the facility would have multiple dining areas, including a demonstration kitchen, as well as covered porches and an art studio with an overhead “operatory-style” mirror that would allow seated residents to view instructors’ work.
