elvoir’s 24-hour gate to main post is Pence Gate. The gate is at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Fort Belvoir’s Belvoir Road. From 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., visitors without Department of Defense identification cards must enter through Tulley Gate. Valid, U.S. government-issued ID card holders may enter any gate. Gate operating hours are below.

ome to more than 145 distinct mission partners, Fort Belvoir is situated along the Potomac River in southern Fairfax County. Home to a variety of logistics, intelligence and administrative agencies, Belvoir also boasts a community hospital on the cutting edge of medical care. U.S. Army Garrison Fort Belvoir provides services to more than 245,000 military, defense civilians, retirees and families. That population includes two additional facilities. Mark Center in Alexandria is home to a number of agencies, including elements of Washington Headquarters Services. Belvoir North Area is home to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Additionally, Belvoir supports Rivanna Station in Albemarle County, Va. With approximately 3,000 personnel, Rivanna is home to the Joint-Use Intelligence Analysis Facility and the National Ground Intelligence Center. Service members from all U.S. Military branches and their families live, work and play at Fort Belvoir. SPEED LIMITS AND CELL PHONE USE In residential villages, speed limits are 15 mph. Limits vary in other areas on post, but all are strictly enforced by the Fort Belvoir Police Department. Violators may be cited and could receive a U.S. Magistrate ticket. Additionally, Department of Defense policy prohibits using cell phones while driving, unless used with a handsfree device. Violators may receive a Department of Defense Form 1408, Armed Forces Traffic Ticket, which will be forwarded to your organization.
