he Culpeper Times is excited to bring readers the final results for the 2022 Best of the Best thanks to this year's sponsor Be a Culpeper Local.

There are many new winners this year and several others who have won again!

The popular contest continues to generate more votes each year since we went to online voting only. This year was no exception.

We continue to add new categories by recommendations and encourage readers to continue letting us know of new business ventures.

The Culpeper Times publishes the Best of the Best contest each year and has become a section both businesses and readers look forward to seeing.

W

ith a population of approximately 51,000, Culpeper County is where we live, play, work, eat, and shop. Because of this, we want our town, county and schools to thrive and become the best they can be.

With a few cents on the dollar being returned to the county via Virginia State sales tax, Be a Culpeper Local works to increase those funds by inviting every Culpeper resident to think about where they spend their money.

Many of us commute out of Culpeper and tend to spend money in other communities. However, the next time you decide to pull out your wallet, think about the sales tax you are depositing in that county’s general fund and school system. Studies have shown that for every $100 spent in a locally owned business, $48 stays and circulates in the community. When you spend a dollar, consider the value of your choice, to yourself and to your community.

Recently, Be A Culpeper Local launched a new all-inclusive directory accustomed with an interactive map. Staff have been visiting with businesses to show our appreciation for being a part of the Culpeper community as well as celebrating those businesses for National Small Business Week.

Be A Culpeper Local will be launching a new social media campaign and “See How It’s Made” videos highlighting Culpeper businesses and are in the process of bringing new programming to further assist Culpeper businesses via free webinars and events.
