By Paul Lara Belvoir Eagle fter more than a decade of planning, designing, and construction, Fort Belvoir’s Lieber Gate offers another high-flow access point into the installation with improved security. Situated on Richmond Highway across from Pence Gate, Lieber Gate is the new point of access for all commercial vehicles, replacing Tulley Gate as the 24-hour access point. At the ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, Col. Michael Greenberg, garrison commander, spoke about the massive scope of this project. “This gate was truly a partnership not just across the community, but across the entire DoD to make this happen,” said Greenberg. “I’m at the tail end and get the honor to cut the ribbon, but there are so many people before I arrived to make this happen.” “Every day Lieber Gate will help the community and the people who U.S have Army photo Dominique Dixon work, live and play here on Fort Belvoir.
