Fisette’s Retirement May Set Off Scramble SCOTT McCAFFREY Staff Writer

The decision by board chairman Jay Fisette not to seek re-election (see story, inside) has given a number of prospective successors the push they needed to ramp up campaigning. Others who may be in the mix include several Democrats who have run for their party’s nomination in the past, including Peter Fallon, Kim Klingler Why did Jay Fisette opt not to seek a new term? and Erik Gutshall. Some or all of See story and reaction those contenders, inside on Page 4. and maybe others, could make their bids official at Wednesday’s meeting of the Arlington County Democratic Committee. (Watch for updates at www.insidenova.com/news/arlington.) Democrats are slated to pick their candidates in caucuses held in May.
