Arlington County Board Chairman Jay Fisette is in no rush to announce whether he will seek re-election in November. “I intend to make a decision by the end of February,” Fisette told the Sun Gazette. “I have been encouraged by many friends and community members in recent weeks. As I enter my 20th year, the job remains interesting and challenging.” Fisette has served on the County Board since 1998 and recently was tapped by his colleagues to chair the board for 2017 – his fifth one-year term at the helm. His nearly-twodecade tenure is longer than the combined service of his four board colleagues.
