Your programme of study is your course, which is made up of a range of modules that have been carefully designed to explore different elements of your chosen subject. A module is a component of your programme with its own learning outcomes and assessments.
Each module is taught and assessed within a semester or across the whole year. Most modules have a value of 30 credits and include a required assessment. A full-time undergraduate student is required to register for a total of 120 module credits per year, which is usually split between four modules. To be awarded your degree, you will need to achieve 360 credits altogether.
There are two types of modules:
• Core – Compulsory modules which you must take as part of your programme of study.
• Optional – Modules that you must take, but you may select from a predefined list.
For some programmes, all modules are compulsory (core modules) and you will not be able to select any modules. For other programmes, there is an element of choice and you will be able to select what modules you wish to study.
If you study on a programme where you can select your modules, you will be required to select your module preferences via e:Vision.
On e:Vision, select the ‘My Modules’ section and then click ‘Select/View my modules’ and follow the instructions. For detailed module information to help you with your choices, you should refer to the programme of study catalogue, available via e:Vision.
Please note that you have until Friday 2 October 2026 to select and/or change your preferred modules.
You can access your personalised teaching timetable on e:Vision under My Timetable or via myLTU once you have fully registered. When you begin your studies, we recommend that you check your timetable on a daily basis.
Incoming exchange students should not follow their online timetable during Welcome Week. Your induction sessions timetable will be emailed to you.
If you require any help with module selection, please contact the Student Records team at records@leedstrinity.ac.uk or on +44 (0)113 283 7120. If you need help using e:Vision or any of its features, please use the help pages on e:Vision or log a ticket via the Self Service Portal that can be found in the IT Support tile in myLTU.

When you arrive at university, we know there’s a lot of information to take in. This section includes essential tasks and actions you need to complete within your first few weeks at Leeds Trinity.
We cover:
• Collecting your student ID card – Your key to accessing campus facilities and spaces.
• Getting connected – Ensure you can access all essential IT services whilst at university.
• Your fees and funding – Understand when and how to pay your fees and accommodation, if applicable.
Please read through this section carefully and follow the steps provided. This will ensure you can focus on settling in to student life.
Your student ID card is an integral part of your student experience. It’s your key to accessing campus, learning resources, printing and, if you’re a resident on the Horsforth Campus, it will serve as one of the keys to your accommodation. You must have it with you at all times when you are on our campuses.
When registering onto your programme of study, you will be required to upload an image of yourself. You will not be able to complete registration without uploading your photograph, so please ensure you have one available before you start your online registration. The photograph will be used for your student ID card. The photograph should follow the standard passport photograph guidelines.
Please view the Government website for further information: gov.uk/photos-for-passports
If you are not living on campus, you must collect your student ID card from the Atrium during your first week on campus.
If you are moving onto campus, you will be directed to collect your student ID card and the keys to your accommodation on arrivals day.
You will be invited via email to collect your student ID card on Friday 18 September from City Campus. This is optional, but we recommend you attend. If you cannot attend on Friday 18 September, you will need to arrive early before your first timetabled session to collect your student ID card.
All UK education institutions are required to take reasonable steps to ensure that every student at the institution has permission to study in the UK. When it is time to collect your student ID card, you will need to show proof of your right to study. To show proof of your right to study in the UK you will need to bring one of the following documents:
• Valid passport
• EU ID Card (if you have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme)
• Birth certificate along with a form of photographic ID, e.g. photocard driving licence
• Proof that you have been accepted to receive student finance along with a form of photographic ID, e.g. photocard driving licence.
Please note that when collecting your student ID card, the name on the document will need to match your official name you used when you registered at Leeds Trinity University. A driving licence will not be accepted without a second form of ID from the list above. We cannot accept photographs or photocopies, so you must bring your original documents.

It’s important to understand how to pay for your university fees, get support with your student finance and prepare a budget as you begin your studies.
If you have taken out a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of your tuition fees, or plan to take out a tuition fee loan, your student finance funding organisation will notify Leeds Trinity University. If you have not taken out a tuition fee loan, you will need to arrange to make payment of your tuition fee directly to Leeds Trinity University.
Invoices for tuition fees will be issued in October 2026 for UK students.
Tuition fees will be due in full on 1 November 2026 and payment may be made as follows:
• Payment by tuition fee loan (if eligible) - This will be paid directly to the University by the Student Loan Company (SLC). Please check your SLC information to ensure you have applied for the correct tuition fee.
• Online via your e:Vision account or at epayments.leedstrinity.ac.uk/open - If you are paying your fees directly to the University, you will need to know your student ID number and have a debit/credit card.
• International students fees - 50% deposit upfront, then 25% within 8 weeks from the start of the course, and the remaining 25% within the subsequent 8 weeks. If you require the university to sponsor you for a student visa, 50% of your fees should already have been paid in advance as a deposit for your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies).
More information on how to pay your tuition fees as an international student is available on leedstrinity.ac.uk/international/internationalfees-and-funding/ paying-your-tuition-fees/.
Students living on our Horsforth Campus will be provided with their accommodation invoice on or before their arrival. The fees should be paid in line with the accommodation agreement.
Payment may be made as follows:
• Online via your e:Vision account. Click on ‘My Finance’
• Online at: epayments.leedstrinity.ac.uk/ open
You will need to know your student ID number and have a debit/credit card. There is an option to set up a recurring card payment that will automatically take the correct instalment payment on the due date to avoid you having to remember future payments. To set up a recurring payment, please contact the Finance Office via finance@leedstrinity.ac.uk
Students living at Clarence Dock will be sent an invite to download the ‘Kliq’ app. This will show your accommodation fee details, and you can make payment through the app.

We hope that by now you have applied for your student finance for the 2026/27 academic year if you are eligible. If you haven’t applied yet, you should do so straight away to limit any delay in the payment of your student finance.
If you are unsure if you are eligible for student finance, please contact the Money Advice team at moneyadvice@leedstrinity.ac.uk.

What do you enjoy about your course?
I love how practical my course is! It mimics real world working environments in newsrooms and other communication roles. We’re also given opportunities to build industry connections and secure work placements.
How have you got involved in LTU life?
I’m a Leeds Trinity Representative for Leeds Student Radio, a society open to students from Leeds Trinity, Leeds Beckett, Leeds Conservatoire, and the University of Leeds. My favourite thing about LSR is how chilled, welcoming, and diverse it is. No one judges you and you get to meet a wide range of people. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in Leeds life and talk about things you are passionate about. I’ve learned so much from the people there.
How were your first few weeks at Leeds Trinity?
My first few weeks were fun, exciting, and focused on finding my feet. I’m from Kent so moving to Leeds was a big step and I knew no one. I was nervous that I wouldn’t fit in and my flatmates wouldn’t like me. However, I quickly learnt that there was nothing to fear at all. I spent my first couple of weeks making friends around campus, on my course, and in my flat. My flatmates have become my family. They have become my family and I spend most of my time with them. Leeds Trinity has such a family-like culture that you always feel supported and never alone.
What are your favourite things about campus?
Studying in Horsforth means you get the best of both worlds. You have peaceful walks, nature, and quiet surroundings but are only fifteen minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city. My flat and I love our walks to see foxes, sheep and horses on days when we’re not heading into Leeds for drinks or clubbing. It gives us time to connect, unwind, and take a break from work.
Share your top three tips to thrive as a Leeds Trinity student!
Be the conversation starter: Many people are moving away from home for the first time and it can feel daunting. Starting a conversation not only helps you make friends but it also reassures someone else that they’re not alone.
Communicate with your lecturers: Lecturers cover a lot of content for a lot of students and everyone has different strengths. They won’t know what you’re struggling with unless you tell them. They genuinely want you to succeed so ask questions, seek feedback and reach out when you need help.
Find a social group at University or in Leeds: There are so many societies and clubs you can join. They enable you to get together with likeminded people, get involved in activities and feel part of a community.

What do you enjoy about your course?
I am really enjoying learning about each module from a professional perspective and having the opportunity to get involved in activities relating to the course. It has been really engaging, and I love the element of joining with other early years courses and sharing experiences with one another.
How were your first few weeks at Leeds Trinity?
When I first started Leeds Trinity, I was nervous as I applied through Clearing, so I didn’t meet the course lecturers or my peers beforehand. As much as icebreakers aren’t usually a fan favourite, it really helped that the university for the first week spent days doing activities for everyone to settle in, get to know each other and find out more about the course. I found this really beneficial in starting officially, as I didn’t feel left out or as nervous. It made me feel much more comfortable and actually excited to begin my university journey.
What are your favourite things about campus?
One of my favourite things about studying in Horsforth is that it is a smaller campus. I think it’s nice that you see familiar faces, even if they aren’t on your course, and everyone gets to know everyone. I also really like that the library has different zones such as the study rooms, independent seating and lots of resources to borrow and use. I usually book a study room when
I have upcoming assignments to really focus independently. I also really love that the Student Support team, Finance and other services are available to access throughout your day. I think it really shows students you care by having the services and facilities available for those who need them quite quickly.

Get involved, even if you don’t feel like it: When I first started at university, I felt out of place, nervous and anxious to be around a bunch of people I didn’t know and to take part in things I wouldn’t usually do too, but it has been the best thing I have done so far! The opportunities my course have been provided with have been great this year and I am so glad I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone, as it has allowed me to build on my skills and find out what I really enjoy.
Use the services and support provided: The University offer appointments with the Learning Hub for assignments, and they are so helpful in preparing, writing and planning assignmentsespecially if you’re like me and at first felt so lost in this new educational journey.
Be yourself: You’ll find so many likeminded people at university and your personality and character is what makes you, you! Stay true to yourself and your confidence and skills will only grow. University has been great so far for me, and I’m really glad I took the leap to register.
