Hickman focuses his practice in all aspects of copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret matters.
Twentieth Judicial Circuit Public Defender Kathleen Smith was recognized as the winner of the 2021 Women of Distinction in the category of Elected/Government Leader. Women of Distinction is an awards program where local women are honored and recognized for excellence in their area of expertise. There is a nomination and selection process to identify the Women of Distinction in twenty categories. Smith was initially elected Public Defender in 2008 for the 20th Judicial Circuit, serving the citizens of Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee Counties.

Whitesman is the past chair of both The Florida Bar’s Tax Law Section and Tax Law Certification Committee.
