Sobre el mapa, lo primero que llama la atención son las islas cuadradas del Eixample en el corazón de la ciudad. Bajando por plaza de Catalunya y La Rambla, recorremos el distrito de Ciutat Vella: las antiguas callejuelas del Gòtic y el Born, todo el mundo del Raval y el tradicional barrio de pescadores de la Barceloneta. Siguiendo por la playa, descubrimos los barrios del distrito de Sant Martí que miran hacia el mar, como el Poblenou y la Vila Olímpica, construida para las Olimpiadas del ’92. Al otro lado, la pequeña montaña de Montjuïc preside Sants y nos deja ver el río Llobregat, que llega hasta el Mediterráneo bañando la zona sur de la ciudad.

On a map, the first thing that really stands out is the cube-shaped islands of the Eixample district in the heart of the city. Descending from Plaça de Catalunya along La Rambla, we pass through Ciutat Vella - the city’s old quarters, comprising the ancient streets of the Gothic Quarter and Born, the nooks and crannies of the Raval and the traditional fishermen’s quarter of Barceloneta. Continuing along the beach, we discover the various neighbourhoods of the Sant Martí district looking out to sea, like Poblenou and Vila Olímpica, built for the Olympic Games in 1992. On the other side, the small mountain of Montjuïc stands over Sants, revealing a glimpse of the Llobregat River that crosses the southern part of the city until reaching the Mediterranean Sea.

Hacia el oeste, otra montaña limita con Barcelona, Collserola, donde se alza el famoso parque de atracciones del Tibidabo. Bajando por la ladera de la montaña, llegamos a Horta – Guinardò, donde encontramos algunas de las zonas verdes más bonitas de la ciudad, como el Parc Güell y el Parc del Laberint d’Horta. Al lado de este distrito se levanta Gràcia, un barrio muy especial que ha logrado mantener su carácter de pueblo dentro de la gran urbe.

Además de los barrios más famosos de Barcelona, la ciudad nos descubre zonas menos conocidas que no suelen salir en las guías, desde la parte alta de Les Corts y Sarrià – Sant Gervasi, con sus antiguos palacetes, hasta los barrios más populares de Sant Andreu y Nou Barris.

Towards the west, another mountain borders Barcelona —Collserola— on which stands the well-known Tibidabo theme park. Coming down the mountain, we reach Horta in Guinardó, home to some of the prettiest green areas of the city, like Parc Güell and Parc del Laberint. Next to this district is Gràcia, a neighbourhood of characteristic charm that has retained a village ambience within its large city confines.

Besides the most famous neighbourhoods of Barcelona, the city has lesserknown areas often omitted from guidebooks, ranging from the affluent neighbourhoods of Les Corts and Sarrià in Sant Gervasi, with their old mansion houses, to the working-class neighbourhoods of Sant Andreu and Nou Barris.

El Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I es uno de los hoteles de 5* más espectaculares de Barcelona. LEDS C4 ha participado en la iluminación de las habitaciones y de su gran vestíbulo, un atrio de 15 plantas que alberga la recepción, la conserjería, el bar y el salón.

Se ha trabajado con la reconocida lighting designer Birgit Walter, para diseñar unas pérgolas que ayudan a delimitar los espacios y hacerlos más acogedores.

Integradas en las pérgolas, 300 lámparas de vidrio con forma de lágrima crean nubes de luces que aumentan y disminuyen su intensidad gracias al sistema de control DALI.

Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I is one of the most spectacular five-star hotels in Barcelona. LEDS C4 designed the lighting for the bedrooms and the large fifteenfloor hallway that contains the reception, concierge service, bar and hall.

We worked with the acclaimed lighting designer Birgit Walter, to implement a series of pergolas that help separate the areas and create a warm ambience.

There are 300 tear-shaped glass lights integrated into the pergolas, which form clouds of light that increase and decrease in brightness thanks to a DALI control system.

The work areas are lit up via LED spotlights, and the combination of glass lights creates welcoming lighting in the reception area, where guests enter the hotel.

En pleno corazón de la ciudad y a pocos metros de La Pedrera de Gaudí, encontramos el Hotel Condes de Barcelona, un antiguo palacete del siglo XIX convertido en un moderno hotel de 4*.

Junto con la interiorista Mercè Borrell, LEDS C4 ha iluminado la zona central del hotel con una pieza de 20 metros de altura. Esta espectacular luminaria en forma de una doble espiral, y realizada con perfilería de aluminio y doble difusor de acrílico matizado, diseñada especialmente para la ocasión, busca la continuidad de la baranda de la gran escalera de caracol y crea un efecto de luz infinita hacia el cielo.

In the heart of the city, a stone’s throw from Gaudí’s La Pedrera, is Hotel Condes Barcelona, an old 19th century mansion that has been converted into a modern four-star hotel.

In collaboration with the interior designer Mercè Borrell, LEDS C4 illuminated the central area of the hotel with a 20-metre high lighting installation. This spectacular light in the shape of a double spiral, specially designed and produced with aluminium framing and double diffuser of tinted acrylic, aims to lend continuity to the great spiral staircase and create an infinity lighting effect towards the ceiling.

El Monument Hotel, de 5*, se alza en el emblemático passeig de Gràcia, la avenida comercial más importante de Barcelona. El lujoso hotel está ubicado en un imponente palacete de inspiración neogótica, muy cerca de La Pedrera de Gaudí.

La interiorista Mercè Borrell tenía el encargo de abrir el hotel a la ciudad y crear un espacio diáfano, donde reina la luz natural que entra desde el techo. Además de los apliques de la pared, LEDS C4 ha creado un interesante conjunto de luces de fibra óptica que cuelgan del techo de los restaurantes Lasarte y Oria, y que nos recuerdan a los sinuosos filamentos de una medusa.

Monument Hotel is a five-star establishment in the emblematic Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s busiest shopping street. The luxury hotel is contained in a striking mansion of Neo-Gothic style, near Gaudi’s La Pedrera.

The interior designer Mercè Borell was commissioned to make the hotel a visually alluring place that invites people to go inside and to create a bright space where natural sunlight could enter from the ceiling. Besides the wall sconces, LEDS C4 produced an interesting combination of fibre optic lights that hang from the ceiling —also featured in the restaurants Lasarte and Oria— which are reminiscent of jellyfish tentacles.

En el centro de Barcelona destaca el NH Collection Calderón, un hotel de 5* que ha sabido encontrar la armonía entre el aspecto histórico de su fachada y su moderno interior.

Como parte del proyecto de iluminación del lobby y del bar del hotel, LEDS C4 ha creado un conjunto de luminarias circulares de gran tamaño fabricadas en acero satinado. Su luz homogénea, gracias al difusor de acrílico satinado, combina a la perfección con el interiorismo vanguardista del hotel.

In the centre of Barcelona, the NH Calderón is a must-visit. This five-star hotel strikes a balance between its historical façade and modern interior.

As part of the illumination project for the hotel bar and lobby, LEDS C4 produced a combination of large circular lights manufactured in satin steel. The homogeneous light, a result of the satin acrylic diffuser, is an ideal complement to the hotel’s cutting-edge interior design.

Ubicado a tan solo un paso de La Rambla, el Gran Teatre del Liceu y el centro histórico de la ciudad, el Hotel España 4* es uno de los más antiguos de Barcelona. Destacan los magníficos espacios, obra del arquitecto modernista Lluís Domènech i Montaner, en los que también colaboraron el escultor Eusebi Arnau y el pintor Ramon Casas.

LEDS C4 ha trabajado en el proyecto de iluminación de los pasillos, del patio interior y del restaurante. Las grandes luminarias doradas que descienden desde la claraboya simulan ser burbujas flotando que buscan su continuidad en el restaurante de la planta inferior, donde también encontramos unos elaborados apliques de estilo modernista.

Just steps away from La Rambla, the Liceu Opera House and the city’s historic centre, Hotel España 4* is one of the most long-established hotels in Barcelona. Of note are the magnificent rooms, work of the Catalan Art Nouveau architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, with contributions by the sculptor Eusebi Arnau and the painter Ramon Casas.

LEDS C4 designed the lighting project for the corridors, the interior courtyard and the restaurant. The magnificent golden lights coming down from the skylight look like floating bubbles, which seek their continuation in the restaurant on the floor below, featuring a series of intricate Art Nouveau sconces.

En el interior del lujoso hotel Condes Monument de passeig de Gràcia encontramos el restaurante Lasarte, un proyecto gastronómico del chef Martín Berasategui reconocido con 3 estrellas Michelin.

LEDS C4 ha colaborado con Mercè Borrell, responsable del interiorismo del espacio, para crear una original pieza inspirada en la sinuosidad de las medusas. Del techo cuelgan varios filamentos de fibra óptica que brindan una ligera iluminación y contribuyen al moderno diseño del restaurante.

Inside the luxury hotel Condes Monument on Passeig de Gracia is Restaurante Lasarte, a three-Michelin-star gourmet restaurant project headed by the Chef Martín Berasategui.

LEDS C4 worked with Mercè Borrell, who oversaw the establishment’s interior design, to produce an original piece that takes its inspiration from the tentacles of a jellyfish. Subtly illuminated with fibre optics that hang from the ceiling, adding to the restaurant’s modern design.

— Bellavista Jardín del Norte Taste

El Bellavista Jardín del Norte es un proyecto de los hermanos Iglesia y los hermanos Messi, un gran restaurante que evoca los lugares típicos de un pueblo: el cine, la iglesia, la tómbola, la barbería, el quiosco... Cada uno de los espacios tiene una identidad y una oferta gastronómica propia, pero todos se unen en un recorrido guiado por la luz.

La lighting designer Birgit Walter ha confiado la iluminación técnica a LEDS C4, que ha adaptado toda una serie de pequeños proyectores regulables led que permiten controlar la luz y ajustarla según el momento del día.

Bellavista Jardín del Norte is the brainchild of the Iglesia and the Messi brothers.

The magnificent restaurant recreates the emblematic features of a town: cinema, church, fairground stand, barber’s, newsagents and more. Each of these areas has its own identity and cuisine, but a path of light connects them all.

The lighting designer Birgit Walter entrusted the lighting design to LEDS C4, and we implemented a series of small adjustable LEDS to modify the brightness of the lighting according to the time of day.

El interior del hotel Hilton Barcelona, ubicado en el distrito financiero de la ciudad, alberga el restaurante mediterráneo Mosaic.

Destaca la gran composición lumínica del techo, diseñada por Birgit Walter en colaboración con el arquitecto Julio López. LEDS C4 se ha encargado de la fabricación de esta magnífica pieza, formada por una estructura tubular de 300 puntos de luz led que se reflejan en el techo del restaurante y multiplican así su efecto. Además, el control DMX permite regular la intensidad de la luz creando un suave efecto de movimiento.

The large lighting composition on the ceiling, designed by Birgit Walter in collaboration with the architect Julio López, is noteworthy. LEDS C4 oversaw the manufacture of this striking piece, comprising a tubular structure with 300 points of LED light that reflect off the restaurant ceiling, which multiplies their effect.

At the same time, the DMX control regulates the light intensity, creating a subtle effect of movement.

La Sagrada Família es, sin duda, el gran emblema arquitectónico de Barcelona.

La colosal obra maestra de Gaudí lleva en construcción desde 1882 y se estima que finalizará sus obras en 2026.

LEDS C4 está colaborando en la iluminación de este gran proyecto vivo. Para la sacristía, situada en la planta baja, se ha realizado una luminaria en vidrio y alabastro que simula la luz natural, controlada mediante el sistema DALI, y cinco plafones circulares ubicados también en la primera planta. En el Pati dels Dolors también se ha trabajado en un farol de tres cabezales que son una réplica exacta del aplique que Gaudí diseñó para la sede episcopal de Mallorca.

Without a doubt, La Sagrada Família is Barcelona’s greatest architectural icon.

Gaudi’s colossal masterpiece has been in construction since 1882, and it is estimated that it will be completed in 2026.

LEDS C4 is involved in the lighting for this great ongoing project. In the sacristy, located on the ground floor, we installed glass and alabaster lighting to simulate natural light, controlled with a DALI system, in addition to five circular recessed light fixtures on the first floor. In the Pati dels Dolors, we also installed a threeheaded lantern, an exact replica of the sconce designed by Gaudí for the bishop’s see in Majorca.

El Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau es un complejo de varios edificios construidos en 1902 por el famoso arquitecto Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

En 2009 se inició una completa rehabilitación de esta joya modernista, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

LEDS C4 ha trabajado en la iluminación interior de las distintas salas y pasillos del pabellón principal. El arquitecto Joan Noguer se inspiró en la serie MULTIDIR para diseñar los colgantes y apliques, que se integran perfectamente en el espacio.

The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is a complex of various buildings built in 1902 by the renowned architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In 2009, a complete renovation of this Art Nouveau gem began, and it was declared a World Heritage site by Unesco.

LEDS C4 implemented the interior lighting for the rooms and corridors in the main pavilion. The architect Joan Noguer took his inspiration from the MULTIDIR series to design the hanging lights and sconces, which are seamlessly integrated.

La tecnología led, junto con los proyectores y orientables, brindan una iluminación técnica, precisa y sostenible que cuenta con un sistema de emergencia y se controla mediante el sistema DALI. A los 16 modelos de iluminación del hospital también se suma una pieza especial en forma de cruz, de 32 x 17 metros de largo, que alumbra el subterráneo de la Sala Hipòstila.

LED technology, together with spotlights and downlights, provides expert illumination that is both precise and sustainable, which incorporates an emergency system and is controlled via a DALI system.

In addition to the 16 lighting models in the hospital, there is also a special piece in the shape of a cross, 32 x 17 metres long, which lights up the underground room of the Sala Hipòstila.

— Gran Teatre del Liceu

Por su historia y su céntrica ubicación, el Gran Teatre del Liceu es uno de los símbolos indiscutibles de la Ciudad Condal. A principios de 1994, el gran teatro de la ópera sufrió un terrible incendio que destruyó casi por completo el escenario y la sala, y obligó a reconstruir este icónico edificio de la cultura catalana.

LEDS C4 ganó el concurso público de iluminación del Liceu para reproducir los apliques de las 65 balconadas del teatro, de más de 65 kg cada uno y elaborados en latón fundido y vidrio. Además de los apliques, también se llevó a cabo la luminaria central, una pieza de 6 metros de diámetro realizada en resina y fundición de latón.

The Liceu Opera House is one of Barcelona’s main iconic symbols, due to its history and central location. In early 1994, a terrible fire almost completely destroyed the opera house’s stage and auditorium. Thus the emblematic icon of Catalan cultural heritage underwent a crucial renovation.

LEDS C4 won the public tender for the lighting installation in the Liceu, which consisted of reproducing sconces for 65 rows of balconies in the opera house.

Each sconce, manufactured in cast brass and glass, weighed more than 65 kg.

Besides the sconces, a central light was also installed, consisting of a six-metrediameter piece and manufactured in resin and cast brass.

La pieza principal cuenta con un sistema de apertura parcial para facilitar los trabajos de iluminación de seguimiento en los espectáculos y la ubicación, en su interior, de cámaras de televisión. El diseño se realizó conjuntamente con los arquitectos e ingenieros acústicos que valoraron tanto las interferencias visuales como la acústica de la sala.

The main piece has a partial opening system to facilitate the monitoring of lighting in shows and the positioning of television cameras in the interior. The piece was produced as a joint project, by the architects and sound engineers who evaluated both the visual and acoustic disturbance in the auditorium.

La antigua plaza de toros Las Arenas ha sido reconvertida en un gran centro comercial de seis plantas de estilo vanguardista, desde donde se pueden contemplar unas magníficas vistas de la ciudad de Barcelona.

LEDS C4 ha creado la iluminación integral del complejo, desde la fachada hasta el hall. Para el exterior se ha apostado por la iluminación led RGB. Todos los puntos de luz pueden regularse de forma independiente gracias al controlador DMX, creado para la ocasión.

The old bullring, Las Arenas, has been restructured into a large six-storey shopping centre with a cutting-edge design, providing magnificent views over Barcelona city.

LEDS C4 designed all the lighting for the complex, from the façade to the lobby.

LED RGB lighting was used on the outside. All the light points can be regulated independently by a specially manufactured DMX controller.

Para realzar la magnitud del espacio interior se han instalado proyectores halogenuros que iluminan las columnas arbóreas dibujando un haz de luz vertical sobre ellas y creando un efecto de luz indirecta que simula una gran luminaria central en forma de bóveda invertida. En los pasillos interiores se han colocado proyectores de led de luz blanca cálida.

To enhance the magnitude of the interior space, metal-halide spotlights were used to light up the tree-shaped columns, creating a vertical light beam on top and producing an indirect lighting effect that simulates a great central light in the shape of an inverted dome. Warm white LED spotlights were installed in the interior passageways.

En pleno barrio del Eixample de Barcelona, el Bar Nolla traslada el sabor del mar a sus platos. Apostando por las tapas, este desenfadado y reconocido restaurante transmite la esencia del carácter mediterráneo. LEDS C4 se ha encargado de proporcionar la iluminación técnica que acompaña al espacio; un lugar agradable que combina el trajín de la cocina con un ambiente relajado.

El Hotel 4 Barcelona se encuentra cerca de la Rambla del Poblenou, en uno de los barrios con más proyección de Barcelona que, ubicado junto a la playa, alberga el distrito tecnológico del 22@. Para la ocasión, LEDS C4 ha desarrollado gran parte del proyecto de iluminación de las habitaciones y de las zonas comunes de este hotel 4*.

In the midst of the Eixample in Barcelona, Bar Nolla brings the taste of the sea to its cuisine. Offering an extensive range of tapas, this relaxed and renowned restaurant exudes a Mediterranean ambience. LEDS C4 designed the lighting to enhance the establishment, an agreeable venue where customers can enjoy their food in a laid-back atmosphere.

Hotel 4 Barcelona is located near La Rambla del Poblenou, in one of the most well-known neighbourhoods in Barcelona. Next to the beach, it is home to the 22@ technological district. LEDS C4 designed the bulk of the lighting for the bedrooms and communal areas in this four-star hotel.

Junto al Camp Nou del FC Barcelona encontramos La Cerveseria Estrella Damm, un local de ocio y descanso dedicado a la gastronomía y la cerveza mediterránea.

Cuenta con un espacio interior de 190 m2 y una terraza de 480 m2, que LEDS C4 ha aportado las luces exteriores de señalización y de ambiente: empotrables de suelo XENA, proyectores HUBBLE y una versión especial de los colgantes CISNE.

LEDS C4 ha colaborado en la iluminación de la popular cadena de bocadillos Pans & Company, en la que se ha apostado por colores cálidos y una iluminación decorativa hecha a medida. Las tiras flexibles de led se adaptan a la perfección con el interiorismo y el carácter del local para crear un espacio acogedor.

The Cerveseria Estrella Damm stands next to FC Barcelona Camp Nou. It consists of a leisure establishment that serves Mediterranean beer and cuisine. The beer house has an interior area of 190 square metres and a terrace of 480 square metres that LEDS C4 illuminated with outdoor signal and ambient lighting: XENA recessed ground lights, HUBBLE spotlights and a special version of CISNE hanging lights.

Taste

LEDS C4 collaborated on the lighting for the well-known sandwich restaurant chain, Pans & Company, opting for warm tones and a customised decorative illumination.

The flexible LED strips are perfectly adapted for the establishment’s interior look and feel to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Tento es una cadena de comida para llevar con varios locales por toda la ciudad.

Para enfatizar el frescor y la calidad de los ingredientes y sus platos, LEDS C4 ha instalado un sistema de iluminación técnica con proyectores ACTION AC en la sala principal. Para los baños se ha optado por el downlight PLAY para crear un ambiente más suave.

Para el Gastrobar by Carles Gaig, chef galardonado con una estrella Michelin, LEDS C4 ha llevado a cabo un ejercicio de integración total de la iluminación en la arquitectura. En este espacio minimalista de marcado estilo japonés, la madera se convierte en protagonista y la iluminación ayuda a destacar los elementos distintivos del proyecto, como la gran barra central.

Tento is a takeaway food chain with a number of branches dotted throughout the city. To emphasise the freshness and quality of ingredients used in their food, LEDS C4 installed a lighting system with ACTION AC spotlights in the main room.

In the bathrooms, we opted for a PLAY downlight to create a softer atmosphere.

In this gastrobar, run by the Michelin-star chef Carles Gaig, LEDS C4 installed a comprehensive lighting system in the building’s architecture. Wood is a central element of this minimalist Japanese-style venue, and the illumination helps to emphasise the establishment’s distinctive features, such as the large central bar.

Dentro del Aeropuerto de Barcelona, el viajero puede relajarse y disfrutar de un delicioso sándwich en la cafetería Breadway. Este food space es un agradable rincón de estilo vanguardista en el que destaca la iluminación de LEDS C4, con piezas que crean un ambiente acogedor, moderno y desenfadado.

En la cafetería Caffe di Fiore se ha optado por iluminación íntegra con led. LEDS C4 ha aportado los downlights MULTIDIR y tiras led On HP. También se ha llevado a cabo la iluminación de un precioso jardín vertical que preside la entrada al espacio para el cual se ha realizado una adaptación del proyector HUBBLE Led.

In Barcelona airport, travellers can relax and have a bite to eat at the Breadway café. This food venue is a state-of-the-art establishment in which the lighting by LEDS C4 emphasises the welcoming, modern and relaxed atmosphere.

Caffe di Fiore selected comprehensive LED illumination. LEDS C4 installed MULTIDIR downlights and On HP LED strips. We also implemented the lighting in a beautiful vertical garden that overlooks the entrance to the venue, with an adaptation of the HUBBLE LED spotlight.

El Jamaica es un buen lugar en el que tomar un café antes de salir de viaje. Para este proyecto, LEDS C4 no solamente ha trabajado con una buena iluminación que aporte confort visual, sinó que también ha querido reforzar la característica estética vintage, industrial y con aires coloniales del espacio.

Este es el lugar ideal para disfrutar de una gran variedad de tapas con productos ibéricos y vino sin salir del Aeropuerto de Barcelona. Siguiendo el proyecto de interiorismo, LEDS C4 ha realizado varias luminarias especiales con colgantes, apliques y varios tipos de lámparas de sobremesa, además de instalar tiras de led, proyectores y una versión adaptada del downlight MULTIDIR.

The Jamaica is a great spot for a coffee before going on a trip. For this project, LEDS C4 not only implemented excellent high visual comfort lighting, but we also enhanced the characteristic vintage and industrial aesthetic of the establishment and its colonial ambience.

Taste

This is an ideal venue to savour a great variety of wines and tapas made with Iberian products before flying from Barcelona airport. LEDS C4 implemented special illumination, tailored to the interior design project, with hanging lights, sconces and several types of table light. We also installed LED strips, spotlights and an adapted version of the MULTIDIR downlight.

Paseando por el centro de Barcelona nos encontramos con la tienda de gafas de moda de la diseñadora Carolina Lemke. En este proyecto, en el que el producto es lo más importante, LEDS C4 ha trabajado para minimizar las barreras entre los artículos y el cliente y ha reforzado la brillante iluminación de la tienda.

El concepto de iluminación de la tienda de muebles Kibuc busca transmitir la sensación de hogar. Para ello, LEDS C4 ha utilizado piezas que portan una luz ligeramente teatralizada, un alto índice de reproducción cromática y colores cálidos que destacan los tonos y texturas de los productos.

Designer glasses by Carolina Lemke are showcased in a shop in the centre of Barcelona. The designer glasses are the outstanding element of this initiative, and LEDS sought to minimise the space between the displayed goods and the customers by enhancing the shop’s lustrous illumination.

The lighting concept for the Kibuc furniture store is based on creating a comforting atmosphere. To do this, LEDS C4 used pieces that deliver theatrical light with high colour rendition and warm tones that enhance the textures and shades of the products.
