National studies have clearly demonstrated that students who re-enroll/persist in their postsecondary programs beyond their first year have the highest likelihood of completing their degrees. Through the National Student Clearinghouse data, SAM can follow persistence rates of Spartanburg County high school graduates. Persistence is a key to meeting the goal of the 40/30 Challenge adopted countywide: increase the number of baccalaureate degrees held by our residents to 40% by the year 2030.
