KINDERGARTEN READINESS ASSESSMENT

Beginning in Fall 2014, South Carolina’s Legislature required that all students entering a publicly funded pre-kindergarten or kindergarten be administered a one-onone readiness assessment called CIRCLES, measuring critical skills for early language and literacy. This assessment is likely to provide, for the first time, a useful metric to assess kindergarten readiness.
