An interview with Elon Musk Almost
WE'VE GOING TO MARS “ELON MUSK CAN BE DESCRIBED IN MANY WAYS – TECH VISIONARY, ECCENTRIC BILLIONAIRE, ASTUTE BUSINESSMAN AND ‘MEMELORD’ ARE ONLY SOME OF THE WORDS THAT COME TO MIND WHEN ONE SPEAKS OF THE WORLD’S RICHEST MAN. BORN IN 1971, THE SON OF AN ENGINEER FATHER AND A CANADIAN-BORN MODEL MOTHER, MUSK LEFT SOUTH AFRICA IN HIS LATE TEENS TO ATTEND QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY IN ONTARIO. AFTER GRADUATING FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, AN IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL, MUSK STARTED ZIP2, A COMPANY HE LATER SOLD TO COMPAQ TO MAKE HIS FIRST MILLION BEFORE THE AGE OF 30.” WWW.MONEYCONTROL.COM
SPACEX, COMMERCIALIZED THE BEGINNING OF POPULAR SPACE TRAVEL MEANS? "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but you cannot stay in the cradle forever, it is time to go forth, be out there amongst the stars, expand the scope and scale of human consciousness." Elon Musk Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. There`s this little candle of consciousness on Earth. It hasn't bee around for very long. And it could easy go out. It could be a meteor, extreme climate change. Who Knows? A third world war. Clearly we need to preserve the light of consciousness into the future by becoming a multi-planet species, extending life beyond earth.
RETURN TO SPACE
Before starting SpaceX, I was waiting for NASA to send people up to Mars. Every year, I`d look at the Nasa website, and I was like, it`s hard to f--k There just didn`t seem to be a date for when we`re sending people to Mars. In fact, Uh, Space, you could say, like, "Look we were able to go to the moon in 69, and our last
mission to the moon was in `72." "And he we are half a century later, and still we have not gone back to the moon." Elon Musk The absolutely fundamental that's needed for humanity to become a mutli-planet species is a rocket system that`s fully and rapidly reusable. "For 50 Years Nasa has been left behind. As the NASA administrator, I will tell you, that is a failure of our nation. But now, through our partnership with commercial companies like SpaceX, we have the opportunity to fix that.
