CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

City Council Mission: To deliver fundamental services and programs that recognize and cultivate the unique characteristics of the City, generate an inviting atmosphere, and drive purpose of place and a sense of belonging.

Leander Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Mission: The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviews policy issues regarding city owned and operated parks and recreation activities in Leander.

Meetings: 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December at Pat Bryson Municipal Hall located at 201 N. Brushy Street, Leander, TX.

Leander Public Arts & Culture Commission Mission: The Public Arts and Culture Commission encourages, conducts, and sponsors public and nonprofit programs that further the development and interest in fine and performing arts in Leander.

Meetings: Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers of Pat Bryson Municipal Hall, 201 N. Brushy Street, Leander, TX. Briefing workshops begin at 6 p.m. and regular meetings start at 7 p.m.

WELCOME

Registration is required for many of our recreation programs.

Please remember: When you register for an activity, we depend on your attendance for a successful program.

Preregistration is required for certain activities. Please note registration deadlines for various activities. All activities are subject to minimum enrollment requirements. If the requirement is not met, the activity will be canceled. All activities, policies, information, and fees are subject to change.

SPECIAL EVENT APPLICATION Interested in hosting an event at one of our parks? Please contact our office to begin the permit process.

Pursuant to City Ordinance Section 1.11.031, a permit is required for any public events at a city park or on city property.

CANCELLATION POLICY Items (sites, reservations, facilities, programs, and events) may be changed or canceled without notice. If you are not completely satisfied with your service, please contact us so we can respond to your concerns. www.leandertx.gov/301/Cancellation-Refund-Policy

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY The City of Leander may photograph classes, programs, participants, and sponsored activities at our facilities or properties. Photos are used for promotional purposes and may appear in future publications or media communications.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform staff, and we will make reasonable efforts to honor your request. If you see staff taking pictures and do not wish to be photographed, please let us know. If a photo of you or a family member causes concern, please notify us so we can make every reasonable effort to remove it from future use. Existing printed publications cannot be retrieved, destroyed, or discontinued.

CITY PARKS INFO The Parks and Recreation Department proudly oversees more than 600 acres of parkland, including community parks, scenic trails, and a variety of public facilities. Our parks are open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy outdoor recreation from early morning to late evening.

Leashed pets are welcome throughout our park system, and we appreciate owners doing their part by properly disposing of pet waste.

Many of our parks feature reservable pavilions ideal for gatherings of all sizes. Explore our pavilion rental options on pages 14–19 to find the perfect space for your next event.

• Possessing or discharging guns, bows and arrows, air/gas weapons, paintball guns or markers, or any instrument with a propelling force, spring, air or gas • Operation of any type of motor vehicle, motor-assisted scooter or skateboard, motorcycles, motorbikes or minibikes on any trail, sidewalk or park area not dedicated for such use • Disturbing or interfering with other persons occupying an area or participating in a lawful park activity • Hitting or striking golf balls except in areas designated for that purpose

BENBROOK RANCH PARK Benbrook Ranch Park spans 46.5 acres with a wide range of amenities: five baseball fields, four batting cages, two pavilions, hike and bike trails, skate park, disc golf course, playground, drinking fountains, BBQ grills, and restrooms

BENBROOK RANCH PAVILIONS The pavilion nestled between field #5 and the skate park has four tables, a grill, and easy access to restrooms, the playground, and the skate park.

The pavilion located behind field #2 has seven tables. This pavilion offers more room and privacy as it is tucked away from the parking lot. Look out for any home runs!

BENBROOK RANCH DISC GOLF COURSE Benbrook Ranch Disc Golf Course is an 18 hole course that was redesigned in 2023 with new basket placements and tee pads. The course offers a narrow layout with technical challenges and several doglegs. Restrooms are located near the parking lot, along with a lost disc return box. The course is also home to the Hill Country Hyzers Disc Golf Club, which helps lead disc golf initiatives and fosters a thriving local disc golf community.

DEVINE LAKE PARK Devine Lake Park is a 45.5-acre park. Along the path between the parking lot and lake are restrooms, picnic tables under the trees, two playgrounds, a pavilion, in-ground grills, and open fields for recreation. Park guests can enjoy peaceful fishing, leisurely non motorized boating, and taking in the beauty of local wildlife. It’s a wonderful place to relax, explore, and connect with nature.

DEVINE LAKE PAVILION

The pavilion has four tables, a grill, and is near a playground. The pavilion is available to rent. There are no electrical outlets available at this pavilion, and the restrooms are located near the parking lot.

LAKEWOOD PARK Lakewood Park spans 125 acres and offers a wide variety of amenities to enjoy, including a beautiful splash pad, playground, dog park, fishing pier, scenic trails, skate park, public art, and basketball and volleyball courts.

The park also features seven charming pavilions available for rent, perfect for gatherings, celebrations, or simply relaxing with friends and family.

BLUEBONNET PAVILION & TODDLER AREA The Lakewood Splash Pad has two nearby pavilions: The Bluebonnet and Toddler Area.

The Bluebonnet Pavilion has four tables, two grills, and easy access to the splash pad, restrooms, playground, and Live Oak Pavilion.

The Toddler Area contains four tables and has easy access to the toddler section of the splash pad, as well as the skate park, restrooms, playground, and Live Oak Pavilion

LAKEWOOD PARK DOG PARK Lakewood Park also features three dog park enclosures for all sizes to enjoy! Our small, medium, and large dog parks have doggy waste stations, water fountains (for dogs and their human companions), walking paths, picnic tables, and native trees for shade.

Outside of the dog park, Lakewood Park has many scenic paths to explore. Please remember that all four-legged companions must be on a leash when outside of the dog park enclosures, and owners must properly dispose of pet waste.

MASON CREEK PARK Mason Creek Park is a cozy 2-acre neighborhood park tucked into Mason Creek North, with an entrance off Teal Lane. The park features a playground, a crushed granite path, and four picnic tables placed along the trail.

There are no restrooms and no electrical outlets available at this park.

NORTHCREEK RANCH PARK Northcreek Ranch Park is a small 2-acre neighborhood park that has a playground, pavilion, and a crushed granite path that runs the perimeter of the lot.

The open field beyond the playground and pavilion is perfect for games and activities that require a clear, open space. There are no restrooms and no electrical outlets available at this park.

The pavilion has two tables and a grill and is located next to the playground.

ROBIN BLEDSOE PARK Robin Bledsoe Park is a 16-acre park that has synthetic turf fields, a playground, swimming pool (open Memorial Day through Labor Day), splash pad, pavilion, BBQ grill, concessions, restrooms, lighted outdoor basketball court, fitness court, amphitheater, drinking fountains, and walking trails.

ROBIN BLEDSOE PAVILION The Robin Bledsoe pavilion has four tables, in-ground grill, water fountain, lights, trash receptacle, an electrical outlet (for low-voltage appliances), and easy access to restrooms and the playground.

A NEW PLACE TO BELONG, EXPLORE, AND ENGAGE Leander’s Senior Community has a brand-new destination: the Leander Senior Activity Center, a space designed exclusively for active adults aged 55 and older. More than just a building, the center is envisioned as a vibrant hub where friendships flourish, wellness thrives, and creativity takes center stage.

The Mission of the Leander Senior Activity Center is to create a community for Leander’s active adults where all are welcome and where camaraderie and friendship can flourish. We provide activities that are fun, educational, and cultural, to improve the mental, physical, and emotional health of its participants.

Our Goal is to keep members active, engaged, and connected through exercise, art, and education while also offering opportunities to explore the surrounding central Texas area.

The Active Adult Program (AAP) now has a permanent home here, with dedicated rooms and amenities tailored to a wide range of interests. Whether you’re looking for fitness, art, games, or simply a welcoming place to connect, the center offers it all.

LEANDER’S MOST PROMINENT LOCATIONS FOR AQUATIC FUN The Robin Bledsoe Pool is a Junior Olympic-size pool featuring a gradual slope from 3 feet in the shallow end to 12 feet in the deep end with a diving board. The pool area also includes shade structures and deck chairs.

Pool cabanas are available to rent.

The Robin Bledsoe Splash Pad is a zero-depth splash pad designed to be a safe and fun area for even the youngest swimmers to get a break from the heat! This area features a variety of water features and interactive elements from ground sprays to overhead buckets.

There are four tables under fabric canopies directly adjacent to the splash pad.

ROBIN BLEDSOE POOL RULES Swim Safety • All persons entering the water must wear appropriate swimwear. Cut offs, jeans, and athletic shorts will not be permitted in the pool.

• No running is allowed.

• Diving is only allowed in designated areas.

Children & Supervision • Children unable to independently swim the length of the pool must be within an adult’s body length of the supervising person.

• Children under 14 must be accompanied by a competent individual aged 16 years or older.

• Swim diapers are required for diaper-wearing patrons.

Regular diapers are prohibited in the pool.

• Only U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets are permitted.

• Children under 12 must pass a swim test administered by pool staff to gain access to the diving well.

• No glass containers.

• BBQ pits are not allowed.

• No abusive or foul language.

• No smoking, including electronic cigarettes.

• Pets are prohibited, including emotional support animals. Service animals are welcome.

Both splash pads are open April 1 through October 31, seven days a week, 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and admission is FREE. While using the splash pad, children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by a parent or a competent person responsible for the child’s safety and conduct.

The Robin Bledsoe Splash Pad is a zero-depth splash pad designed to be a safe and fun area for even the youngest swimmers to get a break from the heat!

The Lakewood Park Splash Pad has features for everyone! The pad’s unique shape mimics a river with curves and stone features. On one end, kids can enjoy waterfalls, aimable water sprayers, and waterspouts.

The other end is more suited for younger kids with a zero-depth section.

There are two pavilions located at either end of the splash pad that are available to rent.
