DIAGRAMMING

As a heavy diagrammatical studio, these drafts were used to break down the Changi Airport into its core elements and ‘rules’ to figure out how the same ‘rules’ can translate to a new building. These diagrams were used to understand separation of space and the pushing and pulling design.

FINAL DIAGRAMS

These diagrams show, in depth, the different ‘rules’ of the Changi airport and how these ‘rules’ can be used in a new sense, showing connection and overlap.

FLIP HOUSE

This studio followed an apocalyptic theme. In the case of Flip House, humans leave Earth and relocate on the moon. This design utilized lower gravity and was spacial constraints in mind. Flip House is a conceptual design allowing for one located on the moon, with all the necessities you need within, while taking up th of space possible. FILM ANALYSIS

I used watercolor to find the main elements of various distopian movies and shows and illustrate them. The main theme in these pieces was a central axis theme which was heavily incorporated into my design

NARRATIVE COLLAGE

I used photoshop to create a storyboard of an apocalyptic event. This narrative follows an invasion that forces the human race to relocate on the moon

UNFOLDED PLANS

The plans are portrayed in an unfolded view. The perpective image shows what the view would look like when standing in the kitchen (static) portion.

This kitchen space always remains parallel to the ground, whereas the rest of the house (dynamic), will rotate around according to the needs of the people living there.

GYM RATS

This design follows the needs of roommates who love to work out.

There is a room dedicated to gym equipment, which has a separate purpose when ‘flipped’. The treadmill turns into a table in the dining room.

The mirror turns into a TV in the family room.

CAT LADY ARTIST

This design follows the needs of an artist who has many cats. In the bedroom there are many cat beds, that when ‘flipped’, turns into a cat activity wall in the dining room. Other elements include the TV changing to a work station and a painting drying rack turning into a table.

WORKAHOLICS

This design follows the needs of a couple who are constantly working.

Each room has a table to do work at, using most transformations to utilize a workspace. The TV turns into a desk in the dining room. In other spaces, the desk flips and serves the same purpose

FAMILY HOME

This design follows the needs of a family. The second dynamic space flips independently from the main one, allowing for dual use spaces. Beds flip into couches. There is a lot of empty space to give room for the kids to play.

THE LIBRARY

The Library is split into two sides , each with a distinctive purpose. One side is u quiet study side, while the other serves as a more activity based zone. The goa duce as much natural lighting as possible into the spaces, as well as encourag outside and enjoy the courtyard. This space serves as a place for the commun juice bar and cafe at the bottom to bring people to the space and encourage m explore the library.

THE COTTAGE

A four bedroom, four bathroom family cottage overlooking the Ohio River. All m were harvested from the farm it sits on. All of the rock in the facades, as well as th found on the property and shaped. The outdoor posts are recycled from trees fr formed to keep their natural shape. The island countertop inside also is shaped crafted to keep its live edge. The cottage itself was designed with views in min looking the Ohio River, it was important to have as much outdoor access and w ble. The back facade is decorated with many windows, to both let in natural ligh view of the river no matter what room you’re in.

These cabins sit on the same site as the Cottage, however they serve a differe are public use cabins instead of a family home. They are built to rent out, in sup venue on the same property.
