As the long Mississippi summer begins to wind down, I hope each of you can take a moment to reflect on the incredible work you’ve accomplished this year. Whether you manage a golf course, sports field, sod farm, or landscape operation, the care and commitment you bring to your turfgrass each day does not go unnoticed. Our industry often works behind the scenes, but the results of your efforts are front and center across our state.

Serving as President of the Mississippi Turfgrass Association, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of you this year. I’ve been continually inspired by your professionalism, problem-solving, and passion for this work. It’s that spirit that keeps our industry moving forward.

This fall, MTA invites you to two must-attend events that reflect our commitment to advancing the turfgrass industry:

• Turfgrass Research Field Day – September 18, 2025, Starkville: This event offers hands-on learning and showcases the latest research to help elevate your expertise. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with peers and explore innovations shaping our field.

• Deep South Turf Expo – October 28–30, 2025, Mississippi Coast Convention Center, Biloxi

This premier event brings together turf managers from across the Southeast. Expect top-tier educational sessions, a vibrant trade show, and networking opportunities—from golf tournaments to social events—that foster collaboration and inspiration.

These events are more than just calendar dates. They represent our shared commitment to growth, innovation, and the future of turfgrass in Mississippi.
