He has had thousands of progeny to prove this prestigious profile. In the Leachman database, Protégé is below average on intake and in the top 1% on feed conversion. This bull was truly ahead of his time, and now there is only a limited amount of semen left. This may be your last opportunity to match up Protégé to your elite cows. Not only will this bull’s progeny eat less, but with top 10% AN growth figures, they will gain more as well! As the breed trends towards more efficient cattle, it will be very important to not simply select for less appetite. A commercial cattlemen’s end product is still pounds of beef, so we must not give up production in the quest for cattle that eat less. Decided is also appreciated for his perfect 5-star rating for Calving Ease, Growth, Maternal and Feed/Carc. Physically he has the form of many of the great maternal bulls from Montana like EXT, Right Time, Saugahatchee, and 6807… Look for his daughters to be the kind you use to build a cowherd.

Foundation G081D is the highest $Profit bull we have raised to date! He has the potential to produce cattle that can efficiently convert until they grade prime. On top of this, Foundation receives a perfect 5-star rating for phenotype.

WW YW MILK

Foundation’s dam is a top producing female with a 106 NR and a nearly picture perfect udder at seven years of age. She has produced three top sons and a replacement heifer while maintaining a 365 day calving interval.

SC HT

Foundation’s performance records post the following: 80 BW, 117 WR, 111 YR, 16.0 ACT REA, .39 Rib Fat, .27 Rump Fat, 7.17 Pct IMF and at just 1,175 pounds! His i50K ranked him in the top 3% for marbling. In the feed test, Foundation recorded a weight adjusted conversion rate of 5.7:1 and ate 6 lbs. less dry matter feed per day than the average of his contemporaries! You will be hard pressed to find another bull in the entire breed with a more complete EPD profile as Foundation’s! Interestingly, had we set his EPDs aside, Foundation would still have been our top herd bull pick based on type and kind. This rare combination leads us to believe that this is one of the very top Angus prospects offered in 2018!

Due to ownership agreements, we are only offering Foundation for commercial use. No certificates will be available to anyone outside of the owner list below. Shift is the low birth, high $Ranch choice for capturing big quality grade premiums! Here is a true calving ease, (Top 2% CE and Top 2% BW), herd sire that posts big numbers for marbling (Top 2% Marb) and most importantly his indexes: Top 1% $Ranch and Top 6% $Profit! With a $Ranch value ranking in the top one percentile in the entire Leachman gene pool, you will want to consider his daughters as replacements. Shift G026Y has taken full advantage of every important trait that his elite herd sire (Leachman Paradigm G289U) had to offer. We feel that Paradigm may have been one of the best Angus bulls of his time, but never got the chance to become popular due to his early death. Top 1% Angus feed efficiency value! Decision’s top 1% Intake and 2% F:G, coupled with his progeny’s soft, attractive and mild-mannered phenotype, makes this bull very user friendly. He has been used with great success on first calf heifers. The thing that really separates Decision from other Angus bulls is that most of today’s popular sires rank in the 97% or worse on dry matter intake — he ranks in the top 1% and converted 3.9 to 1! Decision daughters remind breeders of EXT daughters in their fleshing ability, size, and udder quality, but with much improved docility. He is sound, attractive, super gentle and only costs $16/unit!

With E7 gone and no other export semen available, this is your only chance to sample Bartel in the U.S. Bartel posts outstanding proofs in our database and in the Australian Angus database – while the U.S. numbers are simply based on his U.S. trained 50K data. With over 4,400 progeny records, Bartel E7 is a trait leader for Calving Ease Direct, Calving Ease Daughters, Birth Weight, Milk, Days to Calving, Carcass Weight, Eye Muscle Area, and IMF. Leachman Elite South Devon The South Devon breed has emerged as the dominant British breed alternative to Angus. With extensive experience breeding South Devon cattle that dates back to our own purebred herd, which started in the 80’s in Montana, we are confident that the South Devon breed is more than competitive on $Profit. Much of this is based on their unique combination of heavy muscling with marbling levels comparable to Angus. In addition, substantial evidence now suggests that the breed excels on feed efficiency. Leachman Elite Charolais Why Leachman Charolais? Our terminal cross strategies focus on maximizing profit, but we have no tolerance for the lack of selection pressure for the convenience traits. These include our focus on good disposition and reasonable birth weights. Our system also requires upward pressure on marbling and above average growth in our Charolais gene pool to assure you full profit potential. Simply put, Charolais will add 50 pounds to your calf crop – they are the best terminal cross option.

$PROFIT

TM

Are all small cows really efficient? There seems to be a big disconnect in today’s beef industry.

On sale day we want heavy, high quality steers to pay the bills. The rest of the time we want efficient cows to keep our costs as low as possible. Simply selecting for smaller cows with no regard for feed efficiency is not the answer. Likewise, selecting for shear growth with disregard for cost is just as poor of a strategy. The best way to make your cowherd truly efficient, and your calf crop earn more, is to use Leachman $Profit™. This is the only index in the industry that works on both sides of the ledger (production AND cost). Cows that work! Steers that pay!

How $Profit works:

What traits are included in $Profit:

Our simulation model then factors in all of the effects on both income and expense to come up with a net profit figure for each bull. $Profit allows you to compare any two bulls and calculate the difference in profit that they are expected to generate in your herd. Let’s compare a $10,000 $Profit bull to $6,000 $Profit bull (the average 2008 born Angus bull). The predicted difference between the bulls is $4,000 or about $40 per calf. $Profit works for us and it will work for you too.

Some traits are not so easily characterized for $Profit. Milk, for example, is a good thing until you get too much. When over +25, milk EPD has a more negative effect on fertility than it has a positive effect on weaning weight. There are a few traits not yet included in $Profit: longevity, structure, and disposition. These traits are important but difficult to express in dollars.

$Profit assumes that the average commercial bull will have 100 progeny over its lifetime. The model assumes that you keep 30% of your heifers as replacements and that you retain ownership on the remainder of the calves through finishing and sell on a grid. We realize that many don’t retain ownership, but doesn’t it make the most sense to select from birth all the way to slaughter? Feedlots have already proven their willingness to pay premiums for superior Leachman sired calves.

$Profit includes nearly every trait that impacts profitability. The effect of most traits on profit is fairly simple to understand. Here is the list of what is included and its effect: Revenue Traits ▪▪ Calving ease = more calves ▪▪ Weaning and yearling EPD = more weight ▪▪ Fertility (days to conception) = more weight and more calves ▪▪ Carcass weight = worth more up to 1050 lbs. ▪▪ Marbling = valued based on grid premiums ▪▪ Ribeye area = value as impacts yield grade ▪▪ % Retail Product = more yield is more meat Cost Traits ▪▪ Cow mature size = in general bigger eats more ▪▪ Cow intake = more intake costs more ▪▪ Feedlot feed efficiency = cost of gain

Star System Explained:

Accuracy: The sire’s level of accuracy is determined by the number of progeny that have been evaluated in the Leachman System.  Several progeny recorded, use with confidence (over 90% accurate).  Pedigree and individual data only (about 30% accurate). Calving Ease: The predicted calving ease if you use the bull on heifers.  The easiest calving bulls in the industry.  Use on smaller heifers with minimal assistance needed.  Use on larger heifers with some assistance expected. (If no stars are shown, the animal is recommended for use on cows only.)

Good Better Best

qqq qqqq qqqqq

Growth: A formula combines WW and YW to predict how much performance the sire will pass on to their progeny.  Most growth. Maternal: An estimate of the maternal efficiency of the daughters this sire will produce. It includes cow size, milk, fertility and growth.  Keep these heifers! They will make the most profitable females in the business. Feed/Carc: A formula that combines: gain, conversion, carcass weight and carcass merit to predict post weaning performance.  Maximum overall value in your feeder calves. Disposition: An observation of the sires disposition.  You can walk up to and touch.  Average - respects flight zones and handles well, but is not a pet.  Nervous. Page 30

Across Breed Comparisons

Dare to compare: You cannot afford to make mistakes in your breeding program! Choosing to use sires with incomplete or low value data can unknowingly make your herd less profitable – same work, same cost, poor results - unacceptable. Leachman ABC’s are the most reliable and comprehensive EPDs in the industry. They are backed by a large (nearly a million), long-standing (over 30 years), multi-breed (over 15 breeds) database. Using this system assures you of making sound breeding decisions with minimal risk of failure.

DATA EXPLAINED

$Ranch: Profit from birth through weaning. Includes:

These top breeders use $Profit! “$Profit… is the most sustainable index which reflects profitability from conception to consumer.”

~ Rob Thomas, Thomas Angus, Baker City, OR Angus

“$Profit works. It takes a multitude of numbers and so much info… and simplifies them into one or two numbers. When helping customers, it is less confusing. It is so easy to talk about when you believe in it.” ~ Bill Slovek, Slovek Ranch, Phillip, SD Angus Composites & Hybrids

“$Profit is ten times better than any other index for my Red Angus. My high $Profit genetics top our sale.” ~ Neil Hueftle, Hueftle Red Angus, Cozad, NE Red Angus & Hybrids

“Coming out of the swine business, our interest in $Profit was that we found it more advantageous using indexes and just one or two numbers to guide our herd’s breeding decisions.” ~ Brian Dunn, Sandy Knoll Farms, St. Johns, KS Gelbvieh & Balancer

“I find $Profit the best index in the industry to describe our cattle for all birth to feedlot traits to assist our customers.”

~ Ryan Ludvigson, Ludvigson Stock Farm Billings, MT, Red Angus & Hybrids “We made a large investment to measure feed efficiency; however, we needed a place to genetically evaluate this new mountain of information for our Angus, Red Angus & SimAngus cattle. The $Profit Team is doing an amazing job of providing us with accurate EPDs that are comparable across all of our breeds plus EPDs for new traits like feed efficiency and Profit. I have confidence in the team of geneticists at the University of Guelph, Canadian Dairy Network, and BIO in Ontario Canada who use sound-science with the $Profit provides this accurate, third-party, genetic evaluation. Getting our data evaluated by the $Profit team is like getting a second opinion on a major business decision or medical procedure. I consider it one of the smartest business decisions we have made to help us identify and multiply genetics that enhance our customer’s profitability and sustainability in the cattle business.” ~ Donnell Brown, R.A. Lee Leachman answers FAQ’s about $Profit LEACHMAN Q&A

WHAT IS DOLLAR $PROFIT? “$Profit tells you which bulls’ calves make you the most profit, from birth to slaughter if you retain ownership and keep replacements. It includes the cow traits, fertility, growth, carcass and feed intake. Isn’t that really what you want to know? It’s for sure what you need to know. If you sell your calves at weaning, instead of retaining ownership, you can use our $Ranch.”

WHAT DOES THE SINGLE NUMBER, $PROFIT, DO FOR ME? “$Profit helps you compare what different bulls are worth so you can find the best bull to improve your herd. None of us are smart enough to look at 20+ EPDs and figure out which bull will help us the most. $Profit and $Ranch do that for you. Why would anyone buy something for a business unless you know how much money it will generate in profit for the company? You don’t want to guess. You spend a lot on bulls. You want to buy a bull that will reduce your costs and increase your revenues. The $Profit single number estimates what a bull’s 100 calves (4 years @ 25 calves per year) will generate in net profit compared to an industry average bull. $Ranch does the same thing from birth to weaning. Literally, we run partial budgets and look at how all of the genetic effects impact your bottom line. Here is how you can use it. Say the cost of the average industry bull this year is $4,500. That industry average bull has a $Profit of around $7,500. If you buy a $12,500 $Profit bull for the same price, then you are ahead $5,000!”

Page 33

HOW DOES $PROFIT DIFFER FROM OTHER MAJOR INDEXES? “First, like most indexes, $Profit takes into consideration output and revenue, but we also include the cost side of the equation. Other indexes ignore the cost and just help you find the cattle with the highest output and revenue. Unfortunately, growth and output always have a cost. I don’t know of a single index that directly includes cow feed intake in the equation like we do. Years ago, farmers learned that you couldn’t just chase more and more output, but that you had to control the inputs and costs. The important goal is more net income or profit, not maximized revenue. Our index helps us and helps our customers raise cattle that cost less… and produce more profit. Second, $Profit recognizes that many traits have ideal levels – more and more or less and less is not what you want. Seedstock breeders like to chase big numbers because it helps them sell cattle. However, our program knows you make more profit when you are at optimum levels for traits like birth weight, milk, and cow size. As an example, more milk is good up to a point. However, too much milk hurts your fertility. Almost all traits are like that. All of the other industry indexes are linear and have not figured out how to find the optimums instead of chasing maximums. Third, our $Profit takes into account hybrid vigor because our customers want and need to crossbreed. Fertility and longevity are huge drivers of cow herd profitability. Many herds are struggling with fertility because they have become too straight bred. A crossbred cow breeds up sooner, is open less often, and lives longer. Crossbreeding can increase pounds weaned per cow exposed by 23% and that drives profit. Our index includes the economics of heterosis.”

HOW GOOD IS THE DATA BEHIND $PROFIT? We have the largest breeder owned data base in the industry with over 750,000 records. Plus, our data is all from top notch, ‘professional breeders.’ We almost always receive complete, whole herd reporting data. Other systems contain data that is partially reported or substantially unreported. Plus, many herds do a very poor job at establishing contemporary groups. If we see that, we remove it from the database. Poor and partial reporting makes for biased data and inaccurate EPD’s. Our own cooperators reported over 9,000 calves in the last year. These calves all come from structured, mostly AI, matings with reference sires and breeds so that all animals, breeds, and producers can be compared. It is like a huge, structured progeny test. This data is heavily AI driven. It also contains thousands of breed comparisons as we use purebred, hybrid, and composite bulls from each of our breeds. Clay Center compares 200 animals of each breed against one another in a single environment with limited use of proven AI sires to derive their breed differences. We compare thousands of animals of each breed and we have heavy use of proven sires in hundreds of different environments. We believe that we have the most accurate across breed comparisons available in the industry. Finally, we do more feedlot and harvest verification than any other seed stock program. We have a number of commercial test herds that breed AI so that we can feed and harvest the progeny. We feed large sire groups to confirm that our feed efficiency EPD’s accurately predict the performance in the feedlot and on the rail. We also collect carcass data to make sure that our ultrasound based predictions are accurate. In all, we harvest several thousand sire identified carcasses per year. We also collect conversion, gain, and carcass weight on over eight thousand Leachman sired calves from customer herds each year. Page 34

HOW GOOD IS THE $PROFIT SYSTEM? If there was a better index than $Profit, we would use it! Each year, we have new seed stock herds that sign up to use $Profit. When we run their herd, they are shocked – shocked by how well we find the best cattle and shocked by the number of bulls they are using that will not improve their herds. Inevitably, $Profit helps them make more rapid genetic improvement and that is why they join our system.

LEACHMAN Q&A

I tell people that all indexes run the risk of quickly taking you to the scene of the accident. That is to say, a bad index quickly creates unexpected and unwanted consequences. Pig producers made pigs too lean. Dairy producers made dairy cows too infertile. As further examples, selection for Angus’ $Beef has produced some very large, inefficient cows in the Angus breed. Selection for Simmental’s API likes some cattle that are not competitive on growth and ribeye area. Ultimately, associations are reluctant to tweak and improve their indexes because breeders have vested interests to keep promoting their high-ranking genetics. We don’t care about any of that – we just want to get the right answer as quickly as possible. Most indexes are designed by scientists who have very little practical experience raising and breeding cattle. Further, the designers of the indexes have no real-world feedback system to see what is happening with the cattle. Our system is driven by master breeders. I eat, sleep, and drink $Profit making sure that it is working properly. Plus, we have dozens of cooperators and master breeders watching the results to make sure that $Profit is taking us in the right direction. We use $Profit for all our breeding decisions. We cannot afford to use a breed or sire that has low $Profit. In our continuous quest for outlier bulls and cows to bring in from the industry, we convert their data into $Profit before we decide to buy or use a bull or female. We use $Profit to select our replacement females and to help make cow culling decisions. You can use $Profit to share in our genetic progress!

$PROFIT SEEMS TO BE GOING UP AND UP. IS THAT REAL AND WILL IT CONTINUE? We are making more rapid genetic progress than any other program in the industry. We know this because we actively compare ourselves. Each year, our cooperators keep the highest heifers as replacements and AI to the highest bulls. So long as we can continue to find higher and higher sires, this trend will continue. There is no doubt that the genetic change is real. Our cows are getting smaller. Our weaning weights are going up. Our feedlot conversion is improving. Our cattle max out the carcass weight range. Plus, they have increasingly high percentages of upper 2/3 choice and prime. Our future depends on $Profit. It is adding profit to our herd and to our customers’ herds. You don’t have to guess whether or not we believe in $Profit – just watch the bulls we use and you will know where we are placing our bets!

Page 35

Leachman Cattle of Colorado is committed to helping ranchers reduce the losses from brisket disease. We know from our own cowherds that losing calves to brisket at any time from birth through yearling stage can have significant financial cost. We are convinced that pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) scores are very strong predictors of whether or not animals will have the disease. For this reason, we have collected over 3,515 PAP scores on cattle in our program. Unfortunately, taking measurements will not solve the problem. Most ranchers know that buying PAP tested bulls reduces the problems with brisket, but most still report losing 3% - 8% of their calves to brisket depending on the year. This level of calf loss is still unacceptable! We believe that the best strategy to reduce brisket disease is to use expected progeny differences (EPDs) for PAP. Think of selecting for low birth weight. Just buying bulls under 80 pounds would help calving ease, but using low birth weight EPD bulls is a much more effective strategy. This is true, because an EPD takes into account much more information. For example, buying a 75 lb. BW bull out of a sire that generally sires very heavy calves is far less likely to be easy calving than is a similar BW bull out of a sire that generally sires light calves. The same is the case with PAP. Our PAP EPD closely relates to the actual PAP score of the bulls as shown in the graph below. The correlation between the PAP scores and the PAP EPDs are 80%. This is typical in a trait like PAP that is 30% heritable. However, as with all EPDs, you can see that some bulls score better or worse on the EPDs than on the actual score. Ranchers concerned with PAP scores should use the EPDs – not the actual PAP scores. It is clear to us that sires with PAP EPD’s over +3 have tremendous death loss on their calves. Sires with +1 or less on PAP EPD are typically considered sires that are “good at altitude.” The sixty-six sale bulls that are under -0.7 on PAP should be used to dramatically reduce brisket disease in herds that suffer from significant high altitude disease problems.

Key points to regarding PAP and PAP EPDs: • We have taken 3,515

PAP scores (all by Dr. Tim Holt). PAP is 30% heritable. The PAP EPDs reported were calculated by Colorado State University. Selecting bulls using the PAP EPD is FAR more accurate than simply using the PAP scores. Herds that have significant brisket disease should use the lowest PAP EPD bulls.

The Scholz operation is the story of a family succeeding in the cattle business. Steve, a self-made man, is a hands on operator. He likes data and he wants to be financially successful. His first experience with Leachman came from a heifer purchase in 1993. He’s been studying our program ever since.

Steve & Tricia Scholz and family Lincoln County Feedyard, North Platte, NE

Steve earned a master’s degree in nutrition and then put it to work consulting and later managing large feedlots. Eight years ago, he and his wife purchased Lincoln County Feed Yards, just 15 miles north of North Platte, NE. Together, they run the business. Steve is a skilled custom feeder of “calf feds.” He is a stickler for bunk and ration management. His yard is noted for phenomenal animal health and low mortality losses on calves.

When you consider feeding options, we want to help! Kevin Unger explains, “Working for Lincoln County and Leachman is the culmination of my career. I love breeding cattle and feeding cattle. I’ve seen, first hand, the value of genetics. Now I can help ranchers realize their dreams of building better cattle and profiting from their efforts. Steve and Lee are two of the sharpest guys in the business. Together, we can make tremendous progress.” ~ Kevin Unger Oberlin, Kansas 785-470-1131

SIRE SUMMARY

LC ID

Leachman Stabilizers – 30 years in the making! • Built on Science: First designed in the 1970’s by USDA ARS scientists at the Meat Animal Research Center as the Marc II composite: ¼ Red Angus, ¼ Hereford, ¼ Simmental, ¼ Gelbvieh. • Privatized: A private herd was developed by Pat Vinton, Gordon, NE and later sold to the Tessari family in Babb, MT – thus becoming the foundation for the Leachman Stabilizer herd. • Modernized: From 1988 – 2003, Leachman modernized the Stabilizer composite: ▪ Reduced the birth weight. ▪ Made the cattle solid colored and polled. ▪ Increased the post weaning gain. ▪ Improved convenience traits including disposition and udder quality. ▪ Introduced black lines in addition to the original red lines. ▪ Injected top hybrid and purebred sires form the Angus, Simmental, and Gelbvieh breeds. • Moved to Colorado: In 2003, Leachman Cattle of Colorado was formed with a nucleus of cooperators that included the Tessari herd and several other Stabilizer cooperators. • Selected with $Profit: LCoC began selecting the Stabilizer using $Profit with significant results: ▪ Dramatic further reduction in birth weight while increasing yearling growth. ▪ Significant improvement on marbling to now exceed average marbling Angus cattle. ▪ Substantial selection for reduced feed intake and improved feed efficiency. ▪ All of which coincided with a huge annual progress on $Profit. • Expanded Internationally: In 2016, Leachman offered genetic analysis services to Stabilizer breeders in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. This expansion increased the total Stabilizer herd being selected for $Profit to over 20,000 breeding females. Genetics are now flowing to and from each of these herds – increasing the rate of global selection improvement. Excerpts from a 2001 letter written by Dr. Keith Gregory, Research Geneticist at U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) to Jim Leachman: “Your contributions to beef cattle breeding are unmatched in the history of beef cattle breeding. No one has had a greater impact on beef cattle breeding on a global basis. I have stated on several occasions that no one is implementing more of the available beef cattle breeding technology than Leachman Cattle Company.”

Advance is a unique outcross in our Stabilizer gene pool. He blends proven

Angus genetics (Absolute) with high value South Devon (BC Progress). His Top 1% tabulations for $Ranch, Feed:Gain, REA, IMF and 4% YW and $Feeder makes him a very compelling herd sire. He has been heavily used in the Leachman cooperator herds for these reasons. Advance is consistently siring some of the highest performance cattle in our program – with moderate birth – and high carcass merit. Advance is an all-around kind of sire as he is also producing daughters that are highly productive, efficient, functional and have exceptional udder quality.

In the 2017 Leachman Spring sale, Advance had a very impressive set of lead off sons. Two of the sons from that group were selected to become herd sires, and were used heavily in the Leachman gene pool. Foremost (Pg.42) and Accelerate (right) were two of the highest genetic merit and high value bulls to sell that day.

Over 60 sons will be offered this spring! Judge is a 5-star calving ease specialist who is predicted to have an even higher $Ranch than his highly proven sire Testify! As a yearling, he had near identical type and kind

to Testify at that age. They both have the right shaped head and shoulders for calving ease with adequate muscling throughout. Because of his lineage, design and EPDs we feel very comfortable that Judge is a true sleep easy option for heifers. In fact, with a better Intake EPD and $Profit, he is well on his way to taking Testify’s place as our number one calving ease sire. We used him quite heavily last breeding season in our Coop herds, so be sure to check out his sons offered this spring.

Judge’s Sire: Leachman Testify D003Z. Testify matured into one of our very best herd sires, with proven 5-star calving ease, and a moderate appealing type and kind. Judge may be better!

Big Gene is the best proven Red Trinity son to date!

Big Gene is known for producing the top feeding steers in the pen. Uniquely, his daughters rise to the top of the herd maternally too; like the one pictured above.

He combines power, performance and eye appeal in a balanced package. It’s no wonder, as his pedigree stacks some of best genetics in the business. Big Gene’s progeny come easy, grow very rapidly, and are loaded with dimension and style. He has been used heavily in both commercial and seedstock herds since he was a stand out in the 2011 Leachman Spring Sale. His steer calves have topped Superior video sales, and have gone on to earn substantial premiums in the feed yard. Big Gene also now has many progeny, both male and female, in production, and they are proving to be very profitable animals.

Over 110 sons will be offered this spring! The Trinity legend continues! Rarely does a sire exceed all expectations once he is proven. Trinity progeny have been tested extensively in our system and we have yet to evaluate a trait where he does not excel. No bull is perfect, but Trinity is absolutely our pick for one of the best balanced, well proven, low birth, high $Profit bulls in the industry. He sires very attractive progeny that have the look of a British animal with the heterosis and performance of a hybrid. Trinity is a legitimate 4-star calving ease bull, yet gives up nothing at weaning with his outstanding birth to yearling spread! Given his 3/4SM-1/4AN breed make up, both seedstock producers and commercial cattlemen with a heavily Angus-influenced cow herd should seriously consider using this proven herd sire. Trinity is siring some of the most profitable herd sires in the industry, and has produced some of the most sound and productive females in the Leachman system. Trinity has been a pillar in our breeding program. In our system alone he has sired over 500 natural service bullls. Year in and year out, he made herd sire prospects, like the two to the left. Not only will you find Trinity’s name on the top side of the pedigree of many top bulls, but now as his daughters are coming into full production, many of them are rising straight to the top as well. If you don’t already have Trinity in your herd, he is a must use!! Although this legend will live on for many years through his sons and daughters, the opportunity to raise actual Trinity progeny is limited. In 2016, Trinity passed away. To date, we have a large enough bank of semen to offer generous volume discounts, at least for now. Reserve your order early to ensure current volume pricing.

• Earning a database leading -5.4 PAP EPD, this herdsire is predicted to be the best high altitude sire we have ever evaluated for PAP. His own score was 36 tested at 7600 feet in Walden, CO. For more information on Leachman’s exclusive PAP testing EPD system, refer to pg. 36. • Brisket Disease significantly affects high altitude ranchers bottom lines as they can lose from 5% to 15% of their calf crop each year. Low PAP genetics like Summit could easily improve your calf crop by 1% more live calves per unit of PAP EPD. Thus, Summit could save 5% on death loss compared to the average PAP tested bull – that improvement would increase his PAP adjusted $Profit upward by $5000 making him an $18,874 for high altitude ranchers. • This 5-Star maternal and 5-Star phenotype bull was the high seller in the 2017 Leachman High Altitude Sale. Apollo is a very intriguing, high record, Balancer herd sire! We continue to cross the country to find the top prospects that fit our system and this bull rang the bell. He was the standout Balancer bull at the 2014 Knoll Crest Farm Fall Sale where he was the high seller. In the Stabilizer system there is always a desire to continue to expand the gene pool by adding high record outcross genetics. Apollo is a great example of that. He is a deep, easy-fleshing, thick bull with great structure, feet and legs. He is in the Top 1% of the Gelbvieh breed for MARB and FPI, and Top 25% or better for: CED, BW, WW, YW, MK, TM, CME, PG30, ST, YG, CW and REA. Owners: Leachman Cattle of Colorado, Knoll Crest Farm and Meinders Stock Farm.

1947- 1970 Ankony Farm’s sale was a pioneer in selling all-bulls… and their Bull Parades of likely International winners was iconic.

1971-2003 Leachman Cattle Co held the largest bull sale in the world…with uniform performance bulls lined up for 2/3 of a mile.
