University of Leicester Black History Season Throughout the autumn University of Leicester Campus The University of Leicester is running a series of lectures and seminars in the Autumn term to celebrate Black History in the UK and globally. These will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about Black history from a leading academic in the field. Topics will include the role of slavery in British country houses, the importance of Christianity in the struggle for Black emancipation and Black people’s contribution to life in Leicester. These sessions will also allow those interested in studying at university in the future the chance to sample the university experience, as well as honing their critical thinking and analytical skills.
