Development Update
We know it is important to keep you updated about progress on demolishing the multi-storey car park and retail units. We will be producing these updates regularly and inviting you to local drop-in sessions where you can ask questions directly of the team working on the project.
Specialist contractor Cawarden have been on site since 28 May undertaking the preparatory work.
What have we been doing over the last few weeks?
To ensure the safety of people and the surrounding area, the team have been setting up the timber hoarding around the perimeter of the site plus a welfare area on Frog Lane and making sure that existing pedestrian routes are safe.
In addition to this Cawarden has also been removing fixtures and fittings in the four retail units that are to be demolished in the Three Spires Shopping Centre to make sure that safe demolition can take place.
The concrete staircase is currently being safely separated from the former Debenhams building so that the materials can be removed.

Over the next few weeks the printed hoardings will be erected giving details about the exciting new development.

We are placing this sign near to the Lichfield District Council House car park as there is daily capacity at the moment.
Deconstruction of existing staircase and roof structure to Debenhams building.
Install crane matt protection to external features surrounding car park.
The week starting 15 July will see the start of the demolition of the multi-storey car park and retail units.
Demolish/separate ramp from Birmingham Road and installation of hand rails.
Processing of hard-core materials produced from car park.
