Birmingham Road Site Development

Update

We are pleased to announce that by the end of this year the first stage of the Birmingham Road site development will be completed. Following the demolition of the multi-storey car park this location on Frog Lane has now been landscaped to become a temporary area in the city centre and a hub for activities and events. We will be opening this newly landscaped area week commencing 16 December 2024.

Please visit us at our next drop-in session on Wednesday 18 December 11.00am until 3.30pm located on this new open space in the city centre to see these works completed by the specialist contractor Cawarden and to find out further information regarding the next exciting stage for the cinema development and further plaza works. No booking is required. Neighbourhood Newsletter December 2024

Introducing

The cinema development and further plaza works are taking place on the former Debenhams site and are set to complete early 2026.

The work is being delivered by national construction and refurbishment specialists Inside Ltd who have offices in Milton Keynes,

What we’ve been doing

The old Debenhams store decomissioning is now complete and ready for all of the trades and the Inside team to safely begin work.

The hoarding has been put up along Birmingham Road, to the Bakers Lane elevation and the old entrance to the Debenhams store.

Scaffolding has been placed to the front of Bakers Lane, and will be added to the Birmingham Road elevation from Monday 9th December. This part of the works should cause no disruption to pedestrians or road-users.

The site cabins are now up and running too, with Inside having a permanent presence on site.

Inside embrace quality across all aspects of the business, with particular emphasis on relationships built with their staff, clients, supply chain and the communities in which they work. Everyone’s safety is number one priority and implement the highest standards of health and safety at all times.

Looking ahead

Over the next month or so, you can expect to see the following activities:

• Works will continue internally including temporary lighting and power supplies to each floor

Scaffolding to the main elevations will be complete before Christmas

Graphics on the site hoardings will be in place with a message highlighting that Three Spires Shopping Centre is open as usual.
