Summer 2026 Trust Magazine (CEO Welcome)
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the latest edition of the LAT and LAT 2 Trusts Magazine. As CEO of our vibrant family of schools, it is a real pleasure to share with you some of the many achievements, inspiring stories and exciting developments from across our trusts.
Together, as a community of 10 schools, we are united by a shared purpose: delivering better futures for children. This continued direction reflects the strength of our collaboration and our collective ambition to provide the very best education for every child in our care.
This edition is a testament to the dedication and passion that runs through our entire community, our staff, our pupils, and our wider partners. Every day, colleagues across our trusts go above and beyond to create high-quality, inclusive learning experiences, and this magazine captures that spirit wonderfully.
A key theme throughout this issue is our unwavering commitment to professional development and the impact that has on the daily lives of our children. Investing in our people remains central to our success, and I am incredibly proud of the opportunities we offer. Our bespoke offer not only strengthens individual practice but also fosters a culture of excellence and shared expertise across all our schools.
It has been particularly encouraging to hear such positive feedback from colleagues who have taken part. Their reflections show the real impact this professional learning is having, not only on their own practice, but, most importantly, on the experiences and outcomes of our pupils.

We also continue to celebrate the power of collaboration and community across our trust. Our cross-trust work, including Pupil Premium, SEND and our most vulnerable pupils, is a strong example of what we can achieve together. By understanding the unique needs of our pupils and tailoring our approaches, we are making meaningful progress towards ensuring every child feels a sense of belonging and is supported to succeed.

New colleagues taking part in an on-boarding session, where they were introduced to the Trust’s vision, expectations and support available to them. Session was designed to ensure they feel welcomed, well-prepared and confident to hit the ground running as they begin their roles in September.

Art Week 2026
During Art week all classes went on educational visits to explore religious art and to reflect on how art c develop spirituality. Places visited included: St Ann's Church, Guildhall Art Gallery, Tate Britain, The National Gallery and Westminster Cathedral.

International Day:
Our school was proud to celebrate International Culture Day with a vibrant and joyful event that truly reflected the diversity of our community. Each class was assigned a continent and came dressed in colours representing different parts of the world Classrooms were transformed into hubs of discovery, where pupils learned about a range of countries, exploring their traditions, languages, landmarks, and cultural heritage It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and curiosity from all year groups as they shared their learning with one another.
One of the highlights of the day was the fantastic performances from each class. Children showcased their learning through a variety of creative expressions, including songs, poems, and dances inspired by their chosen continent. These performances were a joy to watch and demonstrated not only the pupils’ talents but also their appreciation for cultures beyond their own.
We were delighted to welcome parents and carers to join in the celebrations. The event brought our community together, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Our whole school community had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious selection of food from around the world, adding to the rich cultural experience of the day. International Culture Day was a wonderful reminder of the importance of celebrating diversity, promoting understanding, and learning from one another.
Sports Week Celebrations:

Our whole school came together for an energetic and exciting Sports Week, celebrating the importance of staying fit, healthy, and active. Throughout the week, pupils and staff took part in a wide range of activities, all designed to highlight the positive impact that exercise has on both our bodies and our minds.
The week was filled with fun, laughter, and teamwork, with activities including dance sessions, fun runs, athletics events and a variety of fun sports challenges. Every pupil had the opportunity to participate, build confidence and enjoy being active in a supportive and encouraging environment
A particular highlight of the week was our visit to New River Stadium, where we joined Holy Trinity and St. Ann’s for our annual competitive sports day. St. Michael’s athletic skill, determination and outstanding sportsmanship truly shone through. We are incredibly proud to share that, thanks to the pupils’ hard work and team spirit, we successfully brought home the trophy. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm from both pupils and staff, with everyone embracing the spirit of the week. Sports Week not only promoted physical wellbeing but also reinforced important values such as perseverance, cooperation, and resilience.
Father’s Day Celebration

We were delighted to welcome fathers and father figures from our school community to join us for a special breakfast celebration in honour of Father’s Day. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and appreciate the support, love, and dedication they show to our pupils at St. Michael’s. The morning was filled with warmth and joy, as children and their grown-ups shared a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast together It was truly heartwarming to see the strong bonds between our pupils and the important adults in their lives, with time spent talking, laughing, and enjoying a special moment together. We are incredibly grateful to all the fathers and father figures in our community who play such a vital role in supporting and shaping the lives of our pupils. Their continued care and commitment make a lasting difference and we were proud to celebrate them as part of our school family.

A Star in the Kitchen: Dame Prue Leith Surprises Stanwell Fields
There was a very special guest at Stanwell Fields this term when Dame Prue Leith paid a surprise visit to celebrate the outstanding work of our kitchen team. Dame Prue, patron of Chefs in Schools, the organisation that oversees and supports catering across the LAT schools, came to Stanwell Fields to champion the incredible contribution of Chef Clare, Lucy and Robin, whose commitment to providing nutritious, delicious meals for children has earned widespread recognition. Chefs in Schools works to transform school food and believes that every child deserves access to excellent meals prepared by skilled professionals. What made the visit even more memorable was that it was kept completely secret! Clare and the kitchen team had been told that a film crew from Chefs in Schools would be spending the day capturing footage for a promotional video. With cameras filming around the kitchen and dining hall, everything appeared perfectly normal. However, while the team were in the hall filming, Dame Prue quietly arrived and headed straight to the kitchen.

When the team returned, they were greeted by an unforgettable sight: Dame Prue busy helping to prepare lunch, cutting strawberries ready for the children. Much to everyone's delight, she didn't stop there. She rolled up her sleeves, helped with the washing up and fully immersed herself in the lunchtime preparations.
The visit was a fitting recognition of a team that sits at the heart of life at Stanwell Fields. Our kitchen is about far more than serving lunch; it is a place where relationships are built, children are known and valued, and healthy habits are nurtured every day. Clare, Lucy and Robin play a vital role in creating the warm, family atmosphere that our school is known for
Dame Prue then joined the team in serving lunch to pupils before sitting down to eat with a group of children. She spent time chatting with them about the foods they enjoy most on the school menu, listening carefully to their views and hearing first-hand how important good food is to their school experience.
The visit also highlighted the growing national focus on school food. Dame Prue has been a vocal advocate for improving school meals and championing the new food standards. At Stanwell Fields, these principles are already firmly embedded in our approach. We are proud to offer freshly prepared, nutritious meals that support children's health, wellbeing and readiness to learn, while helping them develop positive relationships with food
For everyone involved, the visit was a joyful celebration of the people behind school meals. While policies and standards are important, the day served as a reminder that great school food starts with people who care deeply about children. Every day, our kitchen team goes above and beyond to ensure that pupils at Stanwell Fields are well fed, well cared for and ready to flourish.
Clare, Lucy and Robin may not have known Dame Prue was coming, but the recognition was richly deserved. The visit shone a light not only on their exceptional work, but also on the values that underpin life at Stanwell Fields: community, care and a commitment to giving every child the very best We are incredibly proud of our catering team and grateful to Chefs in Schools for helping to celebrate the remarkable difference they make to our children every single day.

Building Character Through Adventure: The Junior Achievement Challenge at Stanwell Fields
At Stanwell Fields, we believe that some of life's most important lessons happen beyond the classroom. Through our Junior Achievement Challenge (JAC) programme, pupils develop resilience, confidence and independence whilst taking part in memorable experiences that broaden their horizons.
The Junior Achievement Challenge is an award scheme for pupils aged 8–11, built around five key areas: Fitness, Adventure, Skills and Hobbies, Eco Projects and Community Projects. This term, pupils have been busy completing their Adventure Challenges.
Year 4 pupils, working towards their Bronze Award, enjoyed making their own pizzas before taking part in a sleepover at school. For many, it was their first experience of spending a night away from home, helping to build confidence and independence in a familiar setting.
Year 5 pupils are currently earning their Silver Award and recently took part in an activity day at Polyapes Scout Camp. They embraced a range of challenges, including rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing and caving, before returning to school for a barbecue and sleepover with friends.

Meanwhile, Year 6 pupils have been working towards the prestigious Gold Award. Their adventure took them to Walton Firs Activity Centre, where they spent two nights camping and tackling activities including buggy building, crate stacking, the gladiator climb and frisbee golf. The experience challenged pupils to work together, persevere and step outside their comfort zones as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
The Junior Achievement Challenge is about much more than adventure. Places are carefully allocated, with a strong focus on ensuring that disadvantaged pupils can access opportunities that build cultural capital, broaden horizons and create lasting memories. Through these experiences, children develop the confidence, resilience and aspirations that will support them long after they leave Stanwell Fields.
We are incredibly proud of all the pupils taking part in JAC. Whether working towards Bronze, Silver or Gold, they are developing the character, determination and life skills that will help them flourish both in school and beyond.

Millbrook Park CE Primary School
Over the last year, some children in Years 1 to 3 were paired with a reading volunteer online so that they could play reading fluency and phonics games in addition to their usual lessons. This week we got to meet our volunteers in real life to celebrate all of the hard work and time that the children and volunteers have given. It was lovely for everyone to put a face to the name over a biscuit and a cup of juice!

Goodbye Goats
This term we said goodbye to our school goats. After 3 years together, it was time for goats to enjoy a larger space in Aldenham where they could be enjoyed and looked after by other dedicated adults.
Year 6
Heatwave fun
Nursery managed to stay cool in the heat thanks to a very fun sprinkler system. Some of the adults were very tempted too…
Year 6 are making their last few marks on our school community by raising funds to celebrate the end of their time at Millbrook Park with their disco, their residential trip, their production and their celebration mass.

Reception have been exploring the parable of the Wise and Foolish builders in RE. Working together in teams, they built houses on sand and solid ground and discovered the importance of teamwork, encouragement and supporting one another. Just like a house needs strong foundations, we know that kindness and cheering each other on help us build something truly special.
Inspired by the story The Ugly Dackling, the children became curious scientists as they explored a magical frozen duck activity. The “ducklings” were hidden inside blocks of ice, and the children used pipettes and brushes with warm water to gently melt the ice and free them.
They showed great patience, concentration, and excitement as they observed how the ice changed from solid to liquid. The children made predictions, tested their ideas, and worked carefully to rescue each duckling.
This engaging experience supported early scientific thinking, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. It also encouraged teamwork, curiosity, and perseverance as the children discovered that, with time and warmth, the frozen ducklings could be set free—just like in the story, transformation takes patience and care.

Year 6 had an unforgettable adventure at Kew Gardens! Our pupils immersed themselves in the wonders of nature, learning all about plant biology and conservation from an expert tour guide.
They had a lovely lunch break surrounded by the fragrant herbs and olive trees of the sun-kissed Mediterranean Garden. Refuelled and energised, the children tackled the clear highlight of the trip: the breathtaking Treetop Walkway. Our brave young scientists tested their stamina by climbing the stairs high into the branches, earning a spectacular bird's-eye view of the forest canopy.
The excitement continued as they explored the multi-sensory Hive installation and journeyed through multiple climate zones inside the glassy Princess of Wales Conservatory, the children were captivated by bizarre carnivorous plants, towering cactus displays, the massive flower on the banana tree, and the underwater world of the subterranean aquarium. They returned to school brimming with new knowledge, completely inspired, and thoroughly exhausted from a brilliant day of walking.

Inspiring Learning Beyond the Classroom
Lagom Chef Visit and Food Education Project
We were delighted to welcome Martyn Odell, widely known as the Lagom Chef, to SASF to film an exciting video celebrating our school food provision and commitment to sustainability. As a nationally recognised advocate for reducing food waste and promoting high-quality school food, Martyn spent the morning working alongside our catering team, capturing the skill, collaboration and dedication involved in delivering nutritious meals to our pupils each day.
In the afternoon, Martyn partnered with our Executive Head Chef to lead an engaging food education session for our Reception pupils, exploring themes of food waste, sustainability and making responsible choices. The experience provided a valuable opportunity for children to develop an early understanding of environmental responsibility and the importance of healthy eating. We are extremely grateful to Chefs in Schools for facilitating this opportunity and for their continued support in enriching the educational experiences of our pupils and staff. We look forward to sharing the completed videos with our wider community in the near future.

Developing Lifesaving Skills
Key Stage 2 pupils had the valuable opportunity to participate in a First Aid workshop. During the session, pupils learned essential life-saving skills, including how to respond in an emergency, basic first aid procedures and the importance of staying calm when helping others. The workshop was both engaging and informative, helping children to develop confidence, responsibility and an awareness of how they can support the safety and wellbeing of those around them. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and enthusiasm shown by all pupils throughout the session.
SASF Careers Week
This year marked SASF's Careers Day extend into Careers Week! It provided pupils with an exciting opportunity to explore a wide range of future career pathways. Throughout the week, children enjoyed visits from a variety of professionals, including a dentist and a coding specialist, who shared their experiences and inspired pupils to think about their future aspirations. One of the highlights of the week was our careers parade, where children proudly dressed as the professions they aspire to pursue. Pupils also took part in a range of hands-on outdoor activities, giving them a taste of different careers including those of a chef, construction worker, artist, sportsperson and many more. The week was a fantastic success, broadening children's horizons and encouraging them to dream big about their futures.

Sports Day
St. Paul’s and All Hallows’ proudly hosted its first-ever Sports Day alongside Meridian Angel Primary, creating a fantastic day filled with energy, teamwork and friendly competition. Pupils from both schools enjoyed a range of exciting events, cheering each other on and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. The event was made even more special by the incredible support from parents and families, whose encouragement helped create a wonderful atmosphere. To round off the day, parents had the chance to show their own competitive spirit in a thrilling parents’ race, which brought lots of laughter and excitement. It was a memorable occasion for everyone involved and a great celebration of community, participation and sporting achievement.
SPAH Summer Fair
Our Summer Fair was a tremendous success and a wonderful celebration of our school community. It was fantastic to see so many families, friends, pupils and staff coming together to enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and community spirit. The event showcased the strong partnerships that make our school such a special place, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and supported the fair. A special thank you must go to our dedicated support staff, whose hard work, enthusiasm and careful planning made the event possible. Their efforts behind the scenes ensured a memorable day for all, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our school community.

Looking after plants and animals
Our EYFS pupils were filled with excitement and wonder as they learned about the life cycle of ducks. From watching the eggs carefully in the incubator to witnessing the magical moment the ducklings hatched, the children were captivated by every stage of the journey
Following the completion of their SATs, our Year 6 pupils took pride in enhancing the school environment by decorating the playground shelter with beautiful hanging baskets. Working together, they planted a variety of flowers and have continued to care for them by watering and monitoring their growth during break times. Their dedication and teamwork have helped brighten the playground, creating a colourful and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy while demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and community spirit.

Year 2 Explore Windsor Castle
Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful educational visit to Windsor Castle, one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks. The trip brought their learning to life as they explored the magnificent castle, discovered its rich history and learned about the role of the monarchy, royal traditions and life within the castle over the centuries. The children were fascinated by the stunning architecture, beautiful grounds and historical significance of the castle, asking thoughtful questions and making connections with their classroom learning throughout the day. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an important historical landmark so close to our school, giving our children the opportunity to experience history first-hand. It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery and unforgettable memories.

EYFS and Pebble Class Discover Little City
Our EYFS children and Pebble Class from our ARP enjoyed an exciting visit from Little City, and what a fantastic morning it was! The children immersed themselves in imaginative role play, exploring a vibrant mini city filled with high-quality resources and thoughtfully designed learning opportunities. From taking on different community roles to developing their communication, creativity, problem-solving and social skills, the children were fully engaged throughout the session. It was wonderful to see their confidence and imaginations flourish as they learned through play. A huge thank you to @LittleCityNorthSurrey for providing such an inspiring experience. We thoroughly recommend them and look forward to welcoming them back in the future!
Pebble Class Gets Cooking!
Pebble Class had a fantastic time in the kitchen with our wonderful Trust Chef Emma, making a delicious fruit salad. The children learned a range of important food preparation skills, including how to safely chop and prepare different fruits, while developing their confidence and independence.
They were incredibly proud of what they created and have been eager to put their new skills into practice during fruit time back in class. Well done, Pebble Class!

A Whole School Awe and Wonder Moment
This term, our school has been filled with excitement as we welcomed five adorable, fluffy ducklings and 10 beautiful butterflies! Their arrival created a wonderful sense of awe and wonder, with children from every year group enjoying the opportunity to visit them and observe how quickly they have grown and developed.
Watching the ducklings each day sparked curiosity, thoughtful conversations and plenty of smiles across the school. It has been a fantastic hands-on learning experience, helping children to appreciate the wonder of new life and the importance of caring for living things.
We are delighted that our Year 1 teacher, whose friend owns a local farm, has kindly arranged to adopt the ducklings, ensuring they will enjoy a happy and fulfilling life as they continue to grow. Thank you to @LivingEggs for making this memorable experience possible.
