This year marked a shift from online to in-person learning, which was a significant change for everyone. It was emotional for some, fun for others, and memorable for many. It was time to reestablish our friendships with our classmates while also making new ones. When deciding on a subject for the yearbook, we wanted something that could encompass everything and seem more like a time capsule. To document the wonderful experiences, share secrets, and provide insight into our personal lives in order to build lasting memories. For this reason, we chose the theme “Diary of a Lincoln Lion”. A diary is a book in which a person keeps a daily record of events and experiences, a ritual we hoped to demonstrate. The honest, raw and truthful nature of a diary forum that evokes nostalgia. It is simultaneously personal while also providing an insight and relatability in which our community can connect over. It authentically captures the good, the bad and the ugly, as it is through the difficulties that we acquire true reflection, learn from our mistakes and grow. To us, this is what 2021-2022 was all about. We hope that this yearbook diary will serve as an ode to an LCS student’s life; both the special occasions and day-to-day activities. We have made many more connections and deepened our relationships with friends and family since our complete return to school, all of which can be documented in a diary. So join us as we go through the diary of a Lincoln Lion, reliving each memory of the 2021-2022 year, one page at a time.

The yearbook team for this year was an exciting one. We had students from Gr.6 through to Gr.12 (The first of it's kind). It was also made up of a number of veterans and newbies. It made working together as a team one of the coolest experiences yet.

Mr Kwame Hala Jebeile I observed growth in each person and I admired the support they gave each other. It was a good time to remember our experience Yearbook Director Teaching Assistant these past two years in a journal format and "My yearbookers" did not disappoint in putting together this yearbook themed "Diary of Lincoln Lion". When the going got tough I trusted them to hold the fort and they always delivered. I am so so proud of the work they have accomplished. When you see these wonderful faces around- tap them on the back and extend a kudos to them. I cannot end my message without a special Mention to Hala and Nina for owning this yearbook. Hala has been in my yearbook class for three years and Nina for two and they have always taken the entire senior section of the yearbook and owned it. Thank you truely and all the very best in College. So, we have done the work, jotted and journaled the year in a diary style for you all. Sit back, relax and enjoy!!!

MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL Welcome to the 2021-22 Yearbook! What a year it has been! This year’s Yearbook team has chosen an interesting idea in their theme for this Yearbook:- the “Diary of a Lincoln Lion". A diary is a book of someone’s account of daily life. Dairies can be procedural or narrative, they can be organizers or reflective accounts, they can express emotions or thoughts; in fact diaries can be anything the owner wants them to be. I know people who write in a diary every day, and others who journal about their thoughts and opinions when the need arises I love the idea that this Yearbook will be seen as the diary of our school during this school year–another year during the pandemic, when school life carried on as best as possib le. It will be a collection of words and images that will remind us all in years to come, of the resiliency of each of us and how much can still be achieved day by day. I do wonder how we will all remember the days of the 2021-22 school year. Mayb e it will be the time that each of us will recount in years to come as a time when we wore a mask to school, when we washed our hands over and over and when we tried hard to be a meter apart from each other. Yes, these are the daily routines of our lives and I am sure they will be present in this diary. However I am also hoping that there are other aspects that we will one day look back on and smile. Our diary will also be an insight into the many joyful learning opportunities and exp eriences that students, and teachers have participat ed in this year. “When we learn, we grow” is part of each and every day at our school. While lea rning is our core business, being together building a sense of community and celebrating and valuing each other as unique individuals who make up this diverse school community are also features that I am sure you will read about and see on the pages of this diary. A huge thank you to the Yearbook team for all of their work to collaboratively create this “Diary of a Lincoln Lion”. PTO PTO is a group of multicultural, committed, parents, teachers, and staff working together to enhance the local and global learning experience of our children. PTO this year is made up of several office rs: Ciara Kouao-Bile President; Nadine Jaber and Shazia Saad, co Vice-Presidents; Temitope Yusuff, Treasurer; and Olivia Umugwiza Secretary. We also have parents serving as Coordinators for each division (Elementary, Middle School and High School). Let’s not forget our wonderful Friends of PTO composed of talented and dedicated volunteering parents. Our primary objective as the Lincoln Community School PTO is to partner with the school by organizing events, providing resources and programs that will build on LCS overall learning mission: “When we learn, we grow. For this academic year of 2021-2022, a selected number of activities have been accomplished following the gradual improvement of the COVID pandemic. Thanks to the efforts of all LCS staff we have supported some Parent Chats in collaboration with the school counselors. We managed to organize two Coffee Mornings, and LCS celebrated kindness and friendship by sharing Valentine’s cookies. To welcome new families, or families who joined between 2019 and 2021, the PTO Office hosted a cocktail party with an Akwaaba-themed to welcome new families (2019-2021). During Mother Tongue Week, the PTO Office assisted by volunteering Parents, organized an exhibition of country stands representing the various LCS nationalities. Math Week across all divisions was launched by a school-wide distribution of pi-cookies. In addition, MS Coordinators have taken up the task of collecting data about the various professions and passions that make up the LCS Parents’ community, stay tuned! As we are approaching the end of the year, we look forward to: Teacher Appreciation Week; Prom Night; ECC, G5 and G8 moving up ceremonies; and a fantastic send-off for the Senior Class of 2022.

A message from the SRC President: Day in and day out, a thirteen-member team consisting of five executives and eight grade representatives have worked to improve the quality of school-life for our HS students. In this spread, explore the 2021-22 SRC’s exciting events such as football tournaments and Spirit Weeks, as well as initiatives to catalyse change within our community, such as Town Hall. In the words of veteran SRC member and current president Noora Dakmak, “Being my fourth year in SRC, this experience has been nothing short of exciting, stressful and consuming. And I would not have it any other way. I want to thank the executives, Rudra, Nina, Lucas and Jisoo for helping me bring the vision of SRC back to life. With COVID, there were even greater mistakes to be made, yet as a team, we bounced back fast. You all truly showed me an SRC experience like no other.”

This year was a bit challenging knowing that there are protocols to follow with any activities organized, but Chelsea and I tried our best to overcome those challenges by asking the grade to really voice their opinions during the town hall organized by the SRC and from there on we really knew what we can do to make the rest of the year enjoyable for everyone.

It has been an interesting experience for us as grade reps during such an important time in our lives, and that of our peers. Adjusting to the new normal has been a struggle at time, but in the long run completely worth it. Overall it has been an amazing experience and we are excited for what is to come next year!

The opportunity to be the voice of grade 10 was a thoroughly valuable experience. This has been such an amazing jourrney. Afi and I are so glad to have been the grade reps for our class's final year at LCS. We know first-hand how hard, yet important 12th grade is, hence we made it our mission to ensure every step of the way is celebrated and every senior feels good to be at school and be a part of the class even through the tough times. Being a community leader is definitely one of the most exciting things I’ve done while in Middle School as it has taught me collaboration, creativity, and leadership skills that I can’t learn in a classroom. Working with the counselors, teachers, and students to plan activities, events, and smaller ways to improve how students experience Middle School has been a fun yet educational challenge to work through. As a large group of individuals across grade levels, we had to learn how to organise all of our ideas and initiatives while still focusing on other engagements on campus. After being in online school for almost 2 years, it was really important that we were able to work with a new group dynamic, spreading out our branches in Middle school to become better student advocates. Model United Nations at LCS allows for students to explore a world of diplomacy, international relations, and conflict resolution. Taking responsibility for a state, students navigate the responsibility and critical skills needed to sustain peace, ensure progress and promote unity across the world. For many students, MUN is a jumping-off point for a career in making the world a better place through politics, in the aspiration to be the next Kofi Annan or Pramila Patten. This year, COVID-19 prevented MUN members from traveling abroad as done in previous years, but that did not stop them from holding a conference within our school community, where they discussed the powerful theme of Voices for Marginalized Groups.

A word from The Covid-19 pandemic definitely had a chilling effect on the Model United Nations (MUN) program at LCS, since we could not engage in face-to-face debates for most of 2020 and half of 2021. In September 2021, we finally rebooted the MUN program but in many ways it was like starting over since most experienced MUN delegates had graduated. We were lucky to still have a solid core of MUN enthusiasts who agreed to be on the GHAMUN Secretariat and with their help, a new generation of MUN delegates and chairs were taught the basic knowledge and skills to engage in a fruitful MUN debate. Nonetheless, we were faced with numerous obstacles in this process. First, all delegates lacked the regular practice and experience to hit the ground running, which required considerable refreshing of the basics for all involved; secondly, we had a limited time frame to acquire this knowledge and skill set; thirdly, we were not able to participate in any face-to-face MUN conferences before our own GHAMUN conference in January 2022; and finally, we could not invite other schools to participate in that GHAMUN conference, which is frequently one of the most engaging aspects of hosting a conference. Given these difficult circumstances, the GHAMUN conference was still successful because it provided an opportunity for our students to engage in two days of spirited debates. It is my sincere hope that we will be able to participate in more face-to-face MUN conferences next school year, especially in other countries, which will permit us to build on our budding debating skills and reignite the fire of MUN at LCS for years to come.

“The reason I originally joined MUN in 9th grade was to improve my public speaking skills, but the reason I stayed up to 11th grade and became head of the delegate and chair training is that I found a passion for debate. MUN has become a big part of my life over the past few years, whether it be going on a trip to Johannesburg and meeting tons of new people, honing my skills with my friends, or planning this year's GHAMUN conference. It's been a great experience for me and it really helped me gain a lot of the confidence that I have today!”

The Grade 12 DP Art Exhibition On March 23rd, Ms Gladys hosted an Art Exhibition for each senior art student to exhibit their work from over the last two years. All students and faculty were invited to attend and appreciate the artwork. Spectators interacted with artists, learning about both their artistic inspirations and real-life muses, and were told the story of each beautifully crafted piece. This was a great way to celebrate the creative talents of LCS students and congratulate them on two years of hard work and dedication.

Sekou Dicko This painting illustrates a night sky filled with stars and clouds. At the bottom, we see two hands doing the DUA. This piece is a representation of my nights during Ramadan of 2020 when I used to pray iftar outside with my family. During those times, after doing the DUA, I would stare up at the sky admiring the stars because it would allow me to escape reality and wander through my world of thoughts.

LCS Speaks is a mock conference similar to TED X Talks, that allows for speakers to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences on a topic under a uniting theme through a presentation to members of their local community. The aim of LCS Speaks is to promote community engagement for sharing stories, as well as to provoke thought and open an audience to new perspectives.

The theme of this year's conference is "Reality vs Illusion." For this, we explored ideas of truth and control, freedom with one's self and the importance of details in perception.

LCS SPEAKS This year's LCS Speaks was held in the ES building on the 14th of January and all HS students and staff were invited to attend. It was led by Nina Exton, Lina Yamak and Jakob Haber, and it was advised by Mr Pamperin. Other HS students participated, such as Noah Gorodetsky who designed posters.

For the people who gave blood for the first time, they brought their friends with them and it acted as a community building vehicle. Out of 38 volunteers (15 males, 11 females), 26 were able to successfully donate blood. A part of LCS mission is “when we lead, we serve”. Having organized this blood drive for a number of years, this is the school's way to serve people.

Drive to Survive

In this bold initiative, the blood drive project led by Jakob Haber, assisted by Mpaya Andani and Mathieu Leclerre (grade 12) have been able to establish a long term relationship with the Ghana National Blood Service. This allows them to come to our school annually to collect blood from both students and faculty.

“We are helping those who are in need of blood without getting anything in return. This first time donating blood for people is typically the hardest, but we helped numerous people overcome this obstacle. Beyond providing blood, we were able to provide time for both students and faculty to give blood throughout the day.”

As 4 third-generation kids living in Accra, Ghana, it was essential for us to understand the traditional schooling systems of Ghana. When introduced we were shocked by the respect that the students held for their teachers and for visitors. They all welcomed us with one voice which was quite humbling. We really enjoyed their company. They were well mannered and the interaction made us feel very welcome. In spite of the apparent lack of basic amenities, they took their learning seriously. Sometimes, due to our background there are a lot of things we take for granted when there is so much surplus. From the expression of the children, the items we donated meant so much to them. It has taught us to value what we have. We also realized our collaboration was more of a partnership and not a charity cause. We additionally witnessed the various games that these children played and how it differed from the ones we used to play at Lincoln. That it is possible to have fun and games with minimal or no sports equipment . -

During the length of her 11th grade experience, Merna Abu Baker, 12, taught herself and went to numerous candle making lessons. Lighting a candle is the perfect way to relax and enjoy a lovely scented positive space. Growing up she has always loved lighting a candle and wanted others to experience such excitement. Every Wednesday during the month of November 2021, she held free candle making lessons to those in her community. Making a candle requires great concentration as it is temperature sensitive. She mainly worked with younger children to have them improve their focus and patience, as well as their creativity and craftsmanship. The goal was to have community come together and enjoy the presence of others while learning and improving their artistic abilities of art. As well as appreciating the raw natural materials of Ghana that we would use to create these candles.

They put jars of positive messages at vantage points in classrooms around the school and encourage students and teachers to pick one out whenever they feel down.

GOAL :

These renovations are being made in hopes to increase the enjoyment of the many that use this football pitch and to help them reach their maximum athletic potential. This would be done by partnering with the head teachers within this school as well as several community leaders, they hope to improve the quality of this Football pitch. This photo was taken when they met the head teachers of the school to talk to them about our plan. The poor conditions of the school's facilities can clearly be seen as there is an empty pitch with no equipment whatsoever.

Our goal is to improve the athletic lifestyle of the students in the Kanda Primary Cluster School and its surrounding areas (ex. Nima) by giving them the necessary tools and equipment for Football, such as goalposts, cones, balls, makeshift bleachers/benches and more. This equipment will allow these children to play in better conditions, and hence truly involve themselves in a sport they love, surrounded by their friends in a more suitable condition.

High School

I love coaching as it is my passion. No matter who I coach, as long as they can enjoy learning from me and they listen to my instructions I am happy. The best environment to play in is when we communicate and understand each other so everyone has a good time. Most of the high schoolers in the volleyball team were very disciplined on the court, especially in comparison to their actions off the court. Overall, I had a great time teaching the high school volleyball teams as we both made the effort to communicate and understand each other which creates a safe place for both coaches and players. - Coach Daniel

Middle School The LCS Middle School Basketball program allows young student-athletes to further their development through hands-on learning, competition, and teamwork. Middle School Basketball is conducted after school for season 3 of the school year from February to April. Training is for one hour and thirty minutes, 2 sessions a week. Training consists of drills at the beginning of each session and time to play matches at the end.

The LCS Middle School Football program provides young student-athletes, boys and girls, the time to take part in a fun-time and pleasurable experience. It is an After School Activity (ASA) for season one of the school year starting from September to the first week of November. Currently, training is for a three hour, two sessions a week period. Players are instructed by 2 – 3 coaches. Practice usually starts with warm up drills, followed by ball skills development and ending with matches. It is fun, challenging, collaborative and healthy. Before the Covid19 pandemic set in we had matches with schools from the local communities as well as annual WAISAL tournaments. At the end of the school year, every player was given a form of recognition for their participation in the season. WAISAL is a venue for students from member international schools to compete or gather in an environment that is safe, challenging, professional and educational.

The return of football this year gave many student athletes the opportunity to win again, and this time the opponent came in the shape of personal fitness. The season began with modified training to support each player to regain fitness to be able to enjoy a positive experience. Drills and team bonding exercises highlighted the traits necessary for success in athletics and also fundamental for success in life. Resilience and perseverance were indeed our driving force for achieving individual and team goals. Congratulations and thanks to Sam and Jawad for being the leaders of the HS Swim Team this year, due to their demonstrating excellence in practice attendance and toughness in training. Congrats as well to Alison, who set new LCS records in the 50- and 100-meter Butterfly even though we didn’t have the normal motivation of our annual WAISAL championship meet. Noah contributed well to our team attitude via his upbeat attitude and consistency in attendance and effort, and it was noticed by many that Julian made the positive choice of making the decision to wake up early and improve himself by training hard, getting fit, and being part of a group of dedicated athletes.

Every year on February 21 Mother Tongue day is observed worldwide to promote the preservation, protection and celebration of all languages. LCS takes part in this celebration by bringing up a whole week of activities where the main goal is to acknowledge and celebrate the diversity within our school community. Mother Tongue week was organized by volunteer students, teachers and parents from all divisions. Among some of the activities that the community took part over the week were the divisional assemblies, the language ambassadors classes, the country booths organized by the PTO, the trivia games and the read alouds to students in different languages. The Senior Lounge Over the past couple months, the 12th grade SRC Members, including Noora, Rudra, Nina, Merna and Afi, have worked diligently along side the PTO to create a relaxing space for the this year's seniors and for the senior classes to come. The room is still in progress and includes 3 large sofas, some beanbags, some lights to set the mood, along with a refrigerator and more to come. A big thank you on behalf of the 2022 class and the next senior classes who will be able to enjoy the efforts of the PTO and the current 12th grade SRC members.

Mock Exams are finally over after an average of 14 exams per person in 1 week! This was a hard week for all 12th graders and our grade reps made sure we were rewarded after our long and stressful hours in the exam hall. First of all, I want to thank my whole family for the continuous support since 03, without them I definitely wouldn’t be who I am today. The infinite amount of support I get from them on a daily basis is immaculate. Secondly, I have to thank everyone in my graduating class at Lincoln for welcoming me in grade 10 and being so kind and warm-hearted. The class of 2022 is undoubtedly the best class with the best people I have ever met in my life. As for now let’s enjoy life, remember the good memories we have together at Lincoln. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be part of any other class in the world apart from the Lincoln Community School class of 2022. All of our hard work and perseverance has led us to this proud moment in our lives. After being in LCS for the past 13 years, this school has come to be my second home and I’m sad to see it go. Every person I’ve met along the way, whether teacher or peer, has made an impact on the person I have become today and will forever be at my core. I’d like to thank my parents for being there for me throughout my journey supporting me in difficult times and pushing me to be better than I was yesterday. I’d like to thank teachers like Mr.Tetteh and William for teaching me not only within the subject but also about life after. I’d like to thank all my friends that have been here with me for years, Nader, Jad, Lorenzo, Mathieu, Rudra, Malick, Kelly, Hala, Noora, Judy, Nina, and Lina, for being my emotional support system inside and outside of school. They say, "Every ending is the start of a new beginning.” Coming to LCS has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've made the best of friends, learned the best lessons, and had the best experiences here. From discreetly conversing with Jisoo about what Mr. Tetteh would look like with an afro to my love-hate relationship with Myra in chemistry to sharing Serwah's awesome brownies to shipping Landrew while watching Lexi Rivera’s youtube channel with Ayesha, these have indeed been the finest two years of my life and I wouldn’t change a thing. As my time in Lincoln draws to a close, I aim to cherish these experiences as I face whatever life has in store for me. Here's to new beginnings!!!

Myra Attarah My 2 years in this school have flown by so fast. I still remember how scared I was on my first day, looking at everyone through my computer screen. I have changed a lot since then. You have taught me how to find my self worth and not to care about what other people think about me. Nele, you will always be my best friend and nothing will ever change that. I've been at Lincoln for only 8 years, yet I feel like I grew up here. And the people that made my time memorable are those on the pages that you’re scrolling through right now. Jawad Fakhri After 17 years in Ghana, I can truly say that I have been here FAR too long. But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I want to thank my Mom and Dad for everything they do for me. I also want to shout my lil sister Raya out for all the jokes and singing in the car together. I also wanna thank Mr. Pamp for his lovely energy, always brightening up everyone’s mood. When I’m sitting in William’s room, donating grapes and perfecting my handstand, I stop and wonder who I’d be if I never attended LCS. I have utmost respect for all graduates. It's interesting what we actively chose to put ourselves through, all for the sake of success. We put our happiness, mental-health, and other things on the line just to get a certificate; and the crazy thing is, I would do it all over again, because the people I met: LeonMichaelAhmed, and especially Merna Abu Baker have collectively helped show me what’s important in life. Through them I realized I value being present, that our shared experiences are more important than the diploma, and I would not trade any success for even the smallest of moments with them. I do not want to thank everyone in a blanketed statement, but I do hope that those of you who did help me know who you are and know that I am grateful for your words, actions, intentions, and being the people you are. I wish my dogs loved me more.

This is a letter to my little sister Jiwon. As you are starting your middle school life, I am graduating from school. I wish I could stay longer to watch you achieve your milestones and annoy you. Sadly, this won’t happen, but I think I will still stalk you on social media to check for any weirdos (I don’t want them anywhere near you). Anyways, the real purpose of this letter is to give you the ultimate guide to survive school. Follow Your Heart: school is like a mini-society where tons of choices are thrown at you. Some may be straightforward but making a decision is hard at times. Whenever you are challenged, listen to your heart. If your logic tells you otherwise, tell it to shut up. Enjoy: being happy is more important than getting good grades. Create memories with your friends, become friends with your teachers, and do what you love. If you are happy, the rest will follow. Have Faith: to whom? Well, to yourself. Be confident in what you are doing. Sometimes, your goals may be unrealistic, and people may judge you for that. But I assure you, God built you as a capable individual. Just believe and never give up.

Mom and Dad, you have instilled the morals and values that I pride myself carrying every day. After these 15 years in LCS, beginning in preschool at age three, I think it’s safe to say that Lincoln has played a crucial role in my development and who I have become. Ghana has been my one and only home, my favorite country in the world, and I cannot wait to come back and settle here again. Ghana Wo Wiase. Firstly, I would like to thank my parents for loving me unconditionally, believing in me, supporting me, and helping me become this fine young specimen. First of all, I would like to thank my parents and my brothers for everything they have done for me throughout not only the last 3 years, but also for the last 17 years. I would like to thank the class of 2022’, everyone within this class is truly amazing in their own way and I will miss everyone dearly going forward. I also thank the teachers, staff and faculty for their continuous help, especially Ms. Flora for always supplying late slips and leaving passes. Highschool has been an eventful journey to say the least; I am both relieved and sad about leaving Lincoln and Highschool behind, but regardless I am intrigued to see what the future holds. My time in Ghana and LCS still doesn't make sense to me. I can't seem to comprehend that I'm not graduating in Madagascar. Nonetheless, I have come to truly appreciate the shirt time I've spent here. I want to thank all my new friends for teaching me various things like the finger snap on the hand shake and some pidgin (I'm still getting used to that though). I've come to discover many new things and many of which I like such as Jollof which is my new favourite food. I've met outstanding people like the Sir Melon, who I've learned a lot from. Manahona! Tia akoho aho. I would be stupid not to acknowledge the friends not at LCS as they would absolutely kick my ass about it, so, to the 3 geniuses, thanks for making me the 4th. To begin, I'd like to express my gratitude to my parents and friends for the previous few years we've spent together. Maman et Papa, Merci pour tout ce que vous avez fait pour moi. Tout l'argent que tu as mis dans mon études et tout l'amour que vous m'avez donné Par la grâce de Dieu, vous serez bénis. Je ne peux pas imaginer ma vie sans les deux. Je vous aime. Now that the formalities are out of the way, Wow, these past few years haven't been anything like what I imagined the year to be like. Life does not always go according to plan. However, we should not allow this to deter us from living life to the fullest. Allowing your fear of striking out to discourage you from playing the game is a mistake. This is just one of the many lessons I've learnt over the previous few years. And I honestly don't think I would have made it this far without the help of my wonderful friends. You know yourself ;) There are literally no words in the English lexicon that adequately reflect my level of gratitude toward each and every one of you. We've been able to go through storms together, and despite being scared, we're still standing here together today. Thank you very much!:)

It has been a wonderful three years going to lincoln. One of the best memories I have are at this school. Not only that but I experienced new hobbies while in this school. Madde too many friends become acquaintances. Even though this crazy pandemic came down to wreak havoc combined with hard times faced online I was able to push through. By doing that I was able to finally find some part of me I never knew and grew up to myself. In the end this school was worth it for all of the experience I have taken and enjoyed. Looking back, I’ve had a cringy, fun, and exciting 14 years of education. I’ve grown so much in the last year thanks to every problem that has come my way, it fueled the beast within. To my friends, we’ve dealt with more in two months than people deal with in decades, but I wouldn’t want to go through it with anyone else. To the boys, I won’t say your names cuz you know who you are. I can’t think of a single one of you whom I’m not happy to have met. To my future co-founder Rolls or Bentley? Actually it doesn’t matter, we’ll take the jet. Here are a few words to bring back memories from when our troubles seemed insignificant : Turquaz, Lex Luthor, Villagio, Jumia, Lions, Chilli-Lime, Device, Ogre, 2am Bolt, Osuofia, Pirate Ship, XO, and lastly, Mission Kamikaze. (b) To my friends in Accra for such tremendous moments we have spent together. (c) To LCS for educating me. (d) To Assanah (our domestic help) for cleaning and laundry. (e) To my little sister Eman for being such a wonderful roommate and support when I needed her. (f) To my amazing teachers for bringing new inspiration in my life. While I am sad, I also look forward to moving on for higher education. This would be my first time living in a hostel, 8000 miles away from my family. I know there will be challenges but I am confident that I will overcome them by the grace and help of God. I will make new friends. I will have new teachers to learn from. I look forward to this upcoming journey. It seems like my feelings are the same as an astronaut would have before leaving for a new space. No one knows for sure, who I meet, what I do, what places I visit, and what I bring back to my family. All I know is that I am leaving for good. Miss you all.

We survived! And yeah, I think ‘survived’ is an acceptable word considering everything that’s been going on in the world for the past two years. But honestly, I don't want to spend the little words I have here talking about COVID. I’d rather take this opportunity to appreciate the important people in my life. I’d first like to thank my parents. You two have been unwavering beacons of love and support throughout my whole life, but especially during my turbulent high school years, and it was exactly what I needed while I tried to figure myself out. Thank you endlessly. I have also made so many amazing friendships at Lincoln that I’ve cherished these past four years and will continue to cherish for the rest of my life. I never understood the concept of “found family” until meeting people in Ghana who have become so much more to me than just a group of high school friends. While a lot of them have now moved to other countries, I will never forget the time we shared in person. I love all the memories I’ve made at Lincoln and I’m excited to see what the future holds. Muhammed Shumas I have been in Lincoln for a short period, but I have met some really talented and friendly people. I am glad that I could become a part of such an engaging and diverse community. I was able to learn from teachers and students from all around the globe. Hearing about everyone's experiences of their time in Ghana was pretty fun. One of my favorite parts of Lincoln was the fact that many kids had lived in so many different countries. Every kid in my class was unique and was good at one thing or another. Some were really into sports, others were professional music artists. I have been inspired by the commitment and dedication of every student. I have found Lincoln to be an encouraging, cordial and competitive environment.There were many students who I never had a class with, and I wish we had got to know each other better. I’ve been at LCS for 15 years and I’ve experienced it from the beginning. I would like to thank my mom and dad for guiding me and believing in me throughout my school experiences. Rydee, thank you for helping me with my work and keeping up with my nonsense. JADOOO, we have been best friends from before Ghana gained independence, thank you for always being there for me. To the one and only madam, Ines, thank you for all the memories and support you have given me throughout my last year in Lincoln, you have taught me a lot about myself and I love you so much. Dude I actually still can’t believe it’s over. I used to dream of this day, a time where I can finally start a life for myself and follow my dreams. My main goal was to get out of this place and be in the future. Luckily enough I met some amazing people that really helped me grow and realise that I can’t live in the future but only the present. Being in highschool was a huge drag at first. I felt extremely unmotivated and disconnected to everything and in a way I still do. However, being here and experiencing the good and the bad, the bright and the dark really helped me build character and understand a great deal of what life can be like at times. Most memories from the time I spent here will probably dissipate as time passes to make room for new ones but there are some things I know I won’t forget. The laughing, crying, lessons and reflections will always remind me of the direction I want to go in my life. I can’t say I loved every bit of my school experience, however I am grateful for the memories and life skills I learned.

Sehrene Zafar Having come into LCS in 2nd grade and now being able to graduate with some of my closest friends has been completely surreal. Mama, Baba, Shay, thank you for supporting me throughout the years, I know it's been a stressful process for all of us but we’ve finally reached the end of my high school journey, and I’m so grateful for having a supportive family that loves and cares for me like you do. To my friends, I am eternally grateful for the friendships we’ve had throughout my years at LCS, I love all of you so much and hope to still be connected with all of you in the future. To Malick, Kelly, Afi, Leon, and David, thank you for always making me laugh and always being there for me, words cannot express how much I appreciate you guys.
