LCPS Families, The 2025–2026 school year was one of growth, connection and collaboration for the Division of Family and Community Engagement (FACE). Our work is centered on a simple but important belief: when families, schools and communities work together, students benefit. Throughout the year, we continued to strengthen the systems, relationships and partnerships that support student success. We expanded opportunities for family engagement, increased access to information and resources, enhanced multilingual communication and language support services, and deepened partnerships with businesses, community organizations, faith-based groups and volunteers. Through the work of our Family Liaisons, Family Academy, FACE Teacher Cohort, School Business Partnership Executive Council and cross-departmental collaborations, we created meaningful opportunities for families to engage in their children's educational journeys and feel connected to their school communities. This year also reflected the power of partnerships. Through initiatives like the Interfaith Luncheon and Together in Remembrance, as well as countywide efforts addressing food insecurity and family support, we strengthened relationships and expanded our network of care surrounding our students and families. The accomplishments highlighted throughout this report represent the collective efforts of families, students, staff, community partners and volunteers who share a commitment to supporting every child. While the programs, events and initiatives are important, the true impact is found in the relationships built, barriers reduced and opportunities created for students and families across Loudoun County. We are grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible and look forward to continuing to listen, engage, collaborate and grow together in support of student success.
Every Family. Every Child. Every Day.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENTS LANGUAGE ACCESS SERVICES As the division has expanded mobile-friendly, translatable, and accessible communication across major platforms, families have greater access to information in their preferred language. Personalized language services remain essential during family meetings, for families who are new to LCPS, and when important or complex information requires direct interpretation or translation support. FACE continues to strengthen language access by helping families understand and navigate LCPS resources, opportunities and services. This access supports meaningful family engagement in their child’s education and helps ensure every child, every day has the support to learn, grow and achieve.

As I wrap up my time as a liaison, I look back with pride at the work I've accomplished and the relationships I've made with my families. I think about what I could have done better, too. Seeing some of my 8th-grade parents at the ceremony yesterday - they are so genuinely appreciative of the work we do in this tough economy. Some of these moms just wanted to hug me - and they hugged me so, so tight! It was really touching. Liaisons truly make a difference!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH ENGAGEMENTS SCHOOL-BASED SUPPORT AND VISITS Through more than 70 school visits, the FACE team provided training and support to family liaisons and schools, including school-based training for business partners' recruitment to expand community support for school needs. Business partners provided schools with backpacks, teacher workroom makeovers, classroom supply drives and fulfilled other school-based needs identified by school leadership, teachers or counselors. FACE is committed to strengthening school communities, empowering educators and fostering meaningful partnerships that support the success of every student. BUSINESS PARTNER SUPPORT Local businesses and nonprofits can support LCPS students and families by partnering with FACE to help address essential needs. These partnerships connect families with clothing, household items, school supplies and other resources that remove barriers and help students fully access educational opportunities. Some examples include: 230 vouchers provided by the Help 4 Our Children nonprofit organization to be used at the annual Galilee United Methodist Rummage Sale. Vouchers were valued at $100 each and families could shop for items of their choice. Provided families with $8,000 worth of vouchers to support student eye exams and glasses through a partnership with the National Center for Children and Families. Provided families with $4,500 worth of Burlington vouchers to purchase student winter coats and items through a partnership with the National Center for Children and Families. PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS Strong business, community and nonprofit partnerships help support students, families and schools across LCPS. Through the School Business Partnership Executive Council, partners expand career exploration, connect resources to needs and create meaningful opportunities such as Job for a Day. In collaboration with Career, Technical and Adult Education and other LCPS offices, LCPS continued to strengthen these connections. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school business partnership roster grew by 40%, reaching a milestone of 2,300 partners across the division. With support from the $377,000 VDOE Community School Implementation and Development Grant, FACE added a full-time Community Schools Coordinator to serve Guilford and Sully elementary schools. FACE also launched a partnership with Communities In Schools in fall 2025, bringing additional support to students and families at Sugarland Elementary, Seneca Ridge Middle and Dominion High School. FACE also partnered with LCPS Strategic Communications to create the School Spirit Podcast, featuring student perspectives on belonging, school connectedness, academic programming and experiences that shape their success.

REFLECTIONS AND LOOKING AHEAD
CELEBRATING CONNECTION AND COLLECTIVE IMPACT: 2025–2026 YEAR IN REVIEW The accomplishments highlighted throughout this report reflect the collective impact that is possible when schools, families and community partners work together toward a shared purpose. During the 2025–2026 school year, FACE successfully launched the inaugural FACE Teacher Cohort, expanded community outreach programming, increased leadership engagement through Lead Loudoun presentations and strengthened community connections through initiatives such as National Night Out, the inaugural Interfaith Luncheon and the First Responders Event. These accomplishments establish a strong foundation for the division's continued growth. Looking ahead, emerging needs identified across the division continue to shape our priorities. Schools are seeking stronger systems to connect families with resources, expanded school-business partnerships to enhance student opportunities and a more coordinated approach to distributing essential supports. In response, FACE will focus its 2026–2027 efforts on implementing the FACE Model School framework, launching the second year of the FACE Teacher Cohort, expanding school visits, updating the FACE Toolkit and advancing the centralized FACE Resource Hub (anticipated fall 2027). Together, these efforts reflect the impact of Family and Community Engagement across LCPS and the power of strong connections among schools, families and communities. This work continues with a shared commitment to ensuring every student and family feels connected, supported and valued. Every Family. Every Child. Every Day.
